Sky is one of those people who would rather watch something from a distance rather than to join in that’s why she enjoys watching funny videos on the internet. Her best friend always tries to get her to speak out more but she always resists. She doesn't have stage fright though, which confuses many. Spring, the beautiful season of spring, fields upon fields of flowers bloom and fill the air with their aroma while children, and lovers alike, frolic in their beauty. That image of spring is the complete opposite of spring in the year 1994; there were continuous rain showers, the Sun was not able to shine properly for one day. But on the 15th day of April in the said year, the rains stopped at 9:00 am and the skies were clear for the first time in three weeks. A rainbow formed and Shin Mee In looked at that rainbow and smiled. That moment of peace was ended by her water breaking.

A baby was born and she was named Kim Ha Neul. She lived with her mother alone and for a while, that’s how she thought it should have been. She never knew about her father and never asked her mother about it until her best friend in Grade 1, Gong Minji, asked her about it. She asked her mother and her mother told her that her father is the CEO for a big sportswear company abroad and that he didn’t have time to visit them which wasn’t a lie, it just wasn’t the whole truth. He probably didn’t want to bother to remember them, since it was just a fling to him. Nineteen years ago, Mee In who was an aspiring doctor claimed to have fallen in love with a man named Kim Eunkwang. This man played with her feelings and got her pregnant. He supported her for the first three months after she had the baby and left to pursue his career. Mee In was in love, he wasn’t; it’s actually very simple.

“Best friends forever?”
Gong Min Ji + Kim Ha Neul bff’s forever was scribbled onto the leaf of a book and passed to Min Ji. Min Ji laughed loudly in class causing her to be put on punishment. After class Min Ji told Ha Neul about her mistake, that you can’t be best friends forever forever. They both laughed and went for lunch. That was grade two.
‘Stupid!’ ‘Ugly!’ ‘Girl without a father!’ These were the words that were thrown at one another during class time one day. On that day, a science project was due but only Ha Neul had forgotten hers. She suggested that Min Ji should pretend like she forgot hers too so that they could get punished together but Min Ji didn’t agree. It hurt Ha Neul but she understood that Min Ji wanted to be first in the class. After PE, when they were supposed to present their finished project Min Ji couldn’t find hers. The class searched for it but then found it torn up in the classroom bin. Min Ji suspected Ha Neul but she said that it wasn’t her fault. Min Ji, boiling from rage, started shouting at Ha Neul and calling her names. Ha Neul, feeling wronged started calling her names too. They started to fight and were punished. In grade 4, their friendship was no more.

“You’re interesting”
After her friendship with Minji broke apart in grade 4, she was a loner. She wouldn’t make the first move to talk to anyone and no one would speak to her because she was too boring. She got used to being by herself until grade 10 when a cheerful and optimistic boy called Lee Jeongmin began to follow her around. He said that he always wanted to know what it was like to not talk to people for a whole day but she’s been doing it for years so he pretended to study her until she spoke to him. They began to get comfortable around each other and he became the only person, apart from her mother, who she freely spoke to.
