A random question--

So, just a random question I had on my mind.

Do you guys think scars define someone or make them ugly?

I don't. Scars don't define someone. Scars don't make someone ugly.

Scars tell stories about people and their pasts or emotions. They're much more than just permanent markings on someone's skin. And I certainly do not think scars make someone ugly. I think it makes the person more beautiful/handsome.

/shrugs/ idek man.

I actually have a pretty big scar under my right eye from when I was small and the tip of a hair spary can hit me. And I can't tell you how many times people have made nasty comments about it and it's brought my confidence like waay down. But, then a really good friend of mine kept bragging about how much he loves my scar because it's what makes me stand out the most and I slowly started to love it. So, no I don't think scars are ugly they're just that one thing that makes us all unique and special in our own ways :)

The only ugly scars are the ones you let bring you down. They're all just battle scars in this war called life, some of us get out just fine some end up a bit banged up, but we can't judge because no one can really inderstand the demons we all fight on a regular basis.

Whoa. That's deep. Scars are just reminders of bad things past, you can let it define you but you don't have to. But a bad memory doesn't make someone ugly, it just means that they have a story to tell.

Awww~ personally, I don't think scars define someone because I have 2 long of scar on my right hand which would probably take forever to disappear. It was a pretty deep cut. ><
At first I found it really ugly and that people would judge me so I would always wear a jacket to cover it up no matter how hot it is but now I find it really pretty and would show it off to people, proudly. lol :P
Those scars are lessons to me. A lesson that taught me to be aware of my surroundings. Though it itches and hurt sometimes (at very random times), I would learn to endure it because it's part of me now but the trauma part, it's a little hard to get over. :D

So, a scar is doesn't define someone or anyone in that matter. Every scar has a story to tell. Where it came from and how it happened. All these doesn't sum up to how the person is. Personality is a whole different thing. A person may have many scars and be really nice. So, judging a person by the scars is just nonsense to me.

scars are stories and if a person is stupid enough to judge a person or call them ugly then they are stupid.

Scars are not ugly so I don't know why some people think they are. Whenever I see a person with a scar or lots of them, then I know that person has a story to tell...each scar is probably a different story or they're all connected by the same incident.

what am I saying? I hope I'm making sense :)

i really don't understand people who say scars are ugly. are they somehow going to make your life any worse ? they're just marks on your skin.
i have lots of scars myself, and i don't find them ugly. i sometimes even just look at them and think of the stories behind them. car accident, fell on a nail etc... they're there to remind me that i've lived.

also, if they're from cutting... so what ? i don't any less of a person if they cut. my friend used to cut, she stopped but i know she still has some days she does it... but to me she's still beautiful and the most amazing person in my life.

so if i see a person with cuts.. i don't really judge them. it just tells me they've had a rough life, but at the same time kinda glad that they're still here and not doing something worse to themselves.
i dunno, sorry for ranting on about this here.... XD

I agree that they don't define a person nor make them ugly. They are just there--like freckles or skin tags or moles.
