Ulzzang: Byeon Seo Eun

Back Up: Gam Da In

Height: 165cm/5'5"
Weight: 48kg/105lbs

Style: She most often wears oversized tops and a more fitted bottom, prioritizing comfort overall. If left to her own devices, she's definitely a fashion terrorist, so she sticks to the basics that have been bought for her by others, almost always wearing a large sweatshirt with some sort of cartoon character on it and skinny jeans. She owns very few different shoes, just a pair a skate shoes and wellies, plus an extra pair she carries in her bag. She gets cold easily when sleeping, so she wears sweatpants and a thermal shirt, and will wear the same thing around the house. At practice, she'll just wear an oversized t-shirt and capris, but because of all of her parents' dinner parties she's attended, she owns an assortment of expensive formal gowns and cocktail dresses, all of which had been chosen for her.

Extra: She had no piercings, not even earrings, because she one, never got the chance, and two, is mildly terrified of needles. There's a large scar behind her left ear from when a flowerpot fell on her and a small, faint scar on the second knuckle of her right index finger. There are tiny, barely noticeable marks scattered on her legs and arms from old cuts and scrapes alongside a scattering of tiny, dot-like scars on the bottom of her right foot from stepping on tacks.

Oh I'm Curious~

Personality
On-stage:
Aloof, diligent, chic.
On stage, Minhwa appears chic. More often than not, she's expressionless with few words to say. She's diligent and does what she's told, but will mostly just stand with the group, looking off into space. She doesn't really give much of a reaction, mostly just acknowledging things with a slight nod. At times, though, she can seem like a lost puppy (especially when she needs to speak), so it's really up to the members to direct questions away from her when that happens.
She doesn't really know this, but when she starts to sing, any lost or frightened expression is gone. She's relaxed and her expression softens up greatly. It's not very much of a visual difference, but people that really look can see that there's a difference in the way she carries herself. At times, she can get lost in the emotions of the song, but that is all soon gone the moment the performance ends.
Off-stage: Afraid, silent, independent.
Off stage, Minhwa seems constantly afraid, as though even the wind might just reach out and hurt her. She's quietly curious, and might peer over a shoulder to read an article, but much prefers to be alone. She's very nervous when around people and will prefer to figure out problems on her own. Even if someone talks to her, she'll likely pretend she never heard and dash away. She's shaky and jumpy, avoiding contact with others, and God forbid you surprise her, she'll look like she's on the verge of tears. She's extraordinarily critical of herself and is always telling herself that she can do better. She's very passive, rarely making her opinion known in case it starts a fight. Even when good things happen, she doesn't smile, and the first thing out of is, more often than not, an apology for something completely insignificant.
However, there are the rare times when she's comfortable with her surroundings. At this point, she's notably 4-D and makes small jokes. She's still timid, but stronger and quietly confident. She's sweet with very natural aegyo in her usual actions. Childlike and innocent, she'll smile freely. Although she still needs the occasional push forward to make her opinions known, it's easier and more successful. Not-so surprisingly, she's actually very smart and had always ranked in the top ten in her school. The only problem is getting her to the point where she's comfortable enough to present her true personality.

Likes
) Animals. She absolutely adores them and will even stop and talk to stray cats. She has a little Pomeranian named Mochi.
) Pretty and colorful things! She'll quietly appreciate it.
) Cartoons. She still watches them, especially Pororo.
) Ddeokbokki. It's her favorite food.

Dislikes
) Mushrooms. She's severely allergic to them as well.
) School. Just passing by one makes her break out into a cold sweat.
) People. Everyone. She doesn't discriminate when it comes to this. She's at the point where nearly everyone, friend or foe, makes her paranoid. Any plans of socializing can be thrown right out.
) Needles. There's no real reason, she just doesn't like them.

Major Flaws
) She always expects the worse in people and rarely gives them a chance to prove otherwise. As such, she barely speaks at all, let alone to make her thoughts clear, and pushes aside her own needs to accommodate others so that they won't get angry with her. (This can get irritating for others, as getting a honest opinion from her is like yanking teeth.)
) She has a debilitating fear of the dark. She sleeps with a nightlight and even when stargazing, will bring a camping lantern with her.

Hobbies
) Reading. She's a quick reader, too, so she's always going in and out of the library.
) Amateur astronomy. It's relaxing for her to go up to the roof and just look at the stars.

Habits
) She has a nervous habit of biting the second knuckle on her right index finger, hence the scar.
) She frequently (and unconsciously) tucks and untucks her hair behind her ears.
) Because she gets cold very easily when sleeping, she has a sleeping habit of burrowing under piles of blankets.

Talents
) She can play the piano very well, as she's been taking lessons since age five.
) She can solve a standard 3x3 Rubik's Cube in less than a minute.

Trivia
) Her normal body temperature is unusually low - 35.7°C on average.
) She used to play competitive karuta through elementary school. She had just reached B-class before quitting halfway into her first year of middle school.
) She has surprisingly good upper body strength from carrying her desk every day.
) She doesn't eat much and will feel full after only eating a small portion.

Background:
Born in one of the best hospitals in Seoul, Minhwa lived in Jangseong with her grandparents while her parents worked abroad in the South Korean Embassy in Tokyo. A shy, but cheerful, child, she barely ever cried. Not long after she turned three, she moved to Tokyo to live with her parents. As high-ranking government officials, Minhwa's parent's never let her suffer from want. It was during this time that Boksun began to take care of her. Still, only a year later, it began.
The first week of kindergarten was fine. Everyone got along well-enough (I mean, as well as fifteen four-year-olds can) and no one could have predicted what was to come ahead. Even Minhwa doesn't know what happened. One moment she was friends with some girls, and the next, people were calling her a "poopy-head". Things only got worse as the years went on. As she transitioned from kindergarten to elementary school, the bullies followed along. Eventually the problem turned from childish to serious. They criticized her for being a Korean in Japan and insulted her appearance to the point where, in middle school, she practically starved herself for four months to lose more than thirty kilos. When her family moved back to Korea, she could barely speak Korean and was only bullied more. She lived a very systematic existence. In the morning, she'd carry her desk back from the dumpster where her classmates had moved it, and she kept her indoor slippers and outdoor shoes in her bag instead of her locker so that they couldn't be stolen. She kept all of her belongings with her at all times. Everyone pretending she was non-existent was just the start of it, as malicious rumors and pranks were all focused on her. They destroyed her uniform while she was in PE, dropped water and trash on her when she walked near the building, stuck tacks in her sneakers, and purposely knocked her down or trod on her feet. It got so bad, the principal called her and the bullies to his office, only to have her explain to him that it was all just a game. Later she was badly punished for letting teachers find out.
Singing started out as a coping mechanism at first. After school, while her schoolmates went to hang out, she'd go to the karaoke bar and sing her heart out. It was during this time that she could cry and scream out her frustrations. Had it not been for this, she probably would've given up long ago. A month after their return to Korea, her parents finally noticed that she was frequenting these karaoke places. When she explained that she was doing it because she loved to sing, they immediately signed her up for vocal lessons. It was at that point that she truly realized how much she'd actually enjoyed all of those times alone in the karaoke room, singing her heart out. Improving in leaps and bounds, it was only a few months later that she was encouraged to audition and was accepted into SM. Even now, when she sings, she is transported back into that familiar dimmed room.

Family:
) Father | Sun, Hongchul | 47 | Chief of Economics Division in the South Korean Embassy | charismatic, kind | 4
) Mother | Sun, Jisook | 47 | Head Economic Researcher in the South Korean Embassy | uptight, but well-meaning | 3

Best Friend:
) Cheerful, kind, understanding | it would take a long time to be friends, so probably a year? Maybe a little less.

Friends:
) Hwang, Boksun | 69 | n/a | sociable, doting, feels very familiar even the first time you meet her | took care of her since she was a small child | provides a very grandmother-ly role to nearly everyone.

Biggest Secret: She suffers from serious trauma due to the harsh bullying she experiences at school since she was a child. On that note, she hasn't ever told anyone about being bullied except for Boksun. | It's not so much a matter of people discovering it as much as them putting all of the clues together. There should are clues scattered here and there, but no one thing would give it away. However, once they do piece the clues together, they should try to ask her about it, which then goes horribly awry. Eventually, they can go to Boksun to get the full story.

Why Did You Break Up:

How Do You Act Around Each Other Now:

Is You~

Crush: Bang, Cheolyong | MBLAQ

Age: 22
Birthday: March 10, 1991

Personality: Goofy, mischievous, sincere.
Despite his A blood type, Mir is incredibly outgoing. Within his group, he's the mood-maker and fulfills all of those silly, childish antics a maknae should. He's cheerful and always looks on the bright side, even in a bad situation. He can be rash and energetic, and because of his playful appearance on stage, people often misunderstand him as being too easygoing. In fact, he's passionate about his work and would do anything for the people and things he cares about (especially his pet snake). He's distressed when his fellow members are having a hard time, and is probably the biggest fanboy you'll meet among idols. He doesn't anger easily, or at least, not in front of others, and puts 110% into all of his work. He's a loyal friend that, when the situation calls for it, will help you out (even if that means he has to sell a cow).

How Did You Meet/Want To Meet: She's seen him around the building and the area on multiple occasions. She can recognize him as an idol group member, but that's basically it. | Later, they'll meet once Minhwa becomes a member of Legend. Maybe when he goes to meet Seol Ae, she runs into him on the street and has to give him directions. Later that day, she runs into him again when he's with Seol Ae, and he recognizes her.
How Do You Treat Each Other: At first, Mir makes a game out of trying to make her laugh, or even just smile. Especially after he finds out she lived in Jangseong as well, he just absolutely refuses to leave her alone. He playfully teases and jokes around her, much to her chagrin. She just tries to avoid and ignore him at first, both out of fear and embarrassment. She's very scared that he's trying to get closer to her only to abandon her in the end. Later, when he finally realizes that hey, maybe she really is uncomfortable being around people, he'll be a lot less...energetic. He gives her a lot more space and tries to be nice. Since they both like reading, he'll suggest good books, and he'll just try to make her comfortable around him. Although she initially sees him as trouble, Minhwa will eventually start warming up to him after a long time.

How Do You Want Your Love Story To Unfold: As is detailed above as well, Mir will at first be very excited (after all, she is from Jangseong). When he finally realizes that this might not be the greatest approach (you can decide if this realization comes from something super dramatic or not), he tones it down and is a lot gentler with her. They're eventually able to be together without discomfort, and she'll even crack a smile when he jokes around sometimes. (After this, I don't know...I kinda want to be surprised too! :D)

You're My MVP~

Stage Name: n/a
Persona: Cold City Girl
Personal Fan Club Name: Eclipse

Trainee Years: 4
How Was Your Trainee Life: Honestly? Unremarkable. When she was still in school, she'd go straight to practice the moment it was over. The only time people noticed her was when she sang, blowing them all away with her vocals. Otherwise she slunk by. More than just a few people don't actually know who she is, let alone the fact that she was a trainee alongside them. Dancing was difficult for her to the point where she overheard her teacher tell another that she was born with "two left feet". Because she always finished her studies at school (after all, what else could she do? Hang out with friends?), Minhwa was able to stay at the building until closing time, always being one of the last, if not the last trainee to leave. Although she was well-liked by the vocal teacher, others barely acknowledged her existence. But that's the way she liked it. Without any fellow trainee friends, she focused all of her time on practicing. It was lonely, but she never noticed (and even if she did, nothing could be worse than school). Minhwa dedicated all the time she
could to practice, becoming one of the first in and one of the last out during weekends and holidays. Still, because of her quiet nature (she spoke so little that few people actually knew what her talking voice sounded like), she was easily overlooked when it came to debuting talents.
Pre-Debut Info: n/a
What Would You Like To Do On Your Own: Solo songs
, OSTs, Immortal Song?

Postion You'd Prefer: Lead Vocalist
Rap: Sunny
Sing: LYn
Dance: Taeyeon

Have You Ever Had Plastic Surgery: Yes; she had surgery on her eyes to make them symmetrical. This was done very soon after her crash diet, so she just tells people that it's because of the drastic weight loss.
Are You Okay With Plastic Surgery: No. She doesn't regret doing what she's done, but she doesn't want to change her face.

Past Scandals: None.
Future Scandals: Since she had a lot of false rumors created about her during her school days, perhaps some of these might come to light and people think that they're real? Also, because her parents have high positions in the government, maybe they think that she used her parents' power to debut? Lastly, people might start accusing her of liposuction after seeing her pre-diet pictures.
Also, maybe the fact that she is/was bullied can come to light. Before or after the other members find out, that can be up to you! :)
Am I Allowed To Create More Scandals: Yes! :D

How Comfortable Are You With Drama/Angst Around Your OC: 5000! I love drama too. :3

Ready Or Not~

How Did You React When You Learned You May Debut: Shocked. Honestly, she was so confused and shocked at that time. She was experiencing a mix of emotions, but really, beyond the shock and confusion, she was really, truly happy. The first person she told was Boksun, of course. She never really intended on telling her parents until things were settled for sure, but she went on to ask advice from her voice teacher, who encouraged her to do well at the audition. Although she tried not to, Minhwa couldn't help but feel just the tiniest bit hopeful that she'd finally debut.
Are You A Fan Of Legend: No. She likes them, but doesn't really pay attention to any group enough to be considered a fan.
If You Had A Choice Of Group Would You Pick Legend: Yes.

Do You Personally Know Any Members: No.

The Legend Members
Haneul - She's quieter than the other girls and seems pretty responsible. No wonder she's the leader. | They don't really talk very much. Minhwa isn't one to start up a conversation, and from what she can tell, neither is Haneul. However, she doesn't mind sitting with her...in silence...  | 2.7
Holly -  She has a strong personality that Minhwa doesn't want to get on the bad side of. She's more than just a little scared and weary of this girl. | Minhwa doesn't really talk to her. She's uncomfortable around anyone, but is extra careful around Holly. | 1.5
Seol Ae - Holy smokes, Minhwa is terrified of this girl. She's so...wild and outgoing. Everything Minhwa isn't. | She's really scared to be alone with her. Seol Ae reminds her of a girl in her class, and Minhwa just can't handle that. | 1.0
Hye Rin - She's cute, but too energetic for Minhwa to handle. | Minhwa doesn't really talk to her unless Hye Rin starts it up first. Just like any other person, though, Minhwa strives to talk as little as possible and will respond in short phrases. | 2.3
Yerim - She's a respected seonbae trainee. Her confidence and friendly personality is something Minhwa envies. | They're in that awkward kinda-friends stage, but Minhwa is too scared to get too close. But it helps that they're roomies, so she's more used to Yerim than the others. | 3.0
Ruriko - She's cool and pretty chic, but nice. She's intimidating at first, though. | Minhwa thinks that Rui is really cool, but she's a little intimidated at the same time. However, because she's also a new member, she feels more comfortable with her than she would have had Rui been one of the original. | 2.5

Overall - Minhwa is truly terrified of people and being hurt, and even when she tries not to, will retreat if she gets too close to someone. It takes a lot more than a smile and a kind personality to get close to her, as the wall she has built around herself has grown and strengthened for almost her entire life. She starts out with the outlook that everyone is guilty until proven innocent, and although she recognizes that this is the wrong way to see things, she has a hard time changing. And in some way, she's not entirely willing either.

Are You Allergic To Cats: No.
Do You Like Cats: Yes. She loves all animals and is actually closer to animals than most people. She even talks to them!

Anything Else~

Comments: I hope this is alright. Um, I didn't want her to seem like a common character, and I wanted to try making this kind of character. I know that her BMI is too low (17.6), but if you can understand, she used to be taunted for being overweight, so she worked hard to lose that weight (plus some) so that her tormentors had one less thing to about. I'm so sorry about the massive text! Once I start, I just keep going. Um, anyways, I hope you like her. ^^;
Am I Allowed To Change/Add Anything Regarding Your OC: Of course! :3
Song Suggestions: Not at the moment. c:
Anything Else I Should Know About Your OC: When she speaks, she's extremely formal and careful, even to people younger than herself. She never swears, and she stumbles over her own words and gets tongue-tied a lot. Her voice is barely a whisper normally, and she stutters at times.
Scene/Plot Requests Ideas:

) Could Boksun (Minhwa's nanny) visit the dorm a few times? She would want to make sure that Minhwa's safe/take care of her (and the other members).
) Relating to her trauma, I think it'd be interesting if one of her old tormenters appeared at a fansign. They might or might not recognize her (it'd be up to you), but Minhwa would have a serious panic attack to the point where she would have to be taken back to the car to recover.
) I think it'd be really sad if suddenly Boksun got very ill or something happened so that she couldn't take care of Minhwa anymore. Just sayin'...
) She comes to practice with fresh bruises and cuts on her legs/body, but makes an excuse by saying she tripped in PE. It's actually from the bullying, and [another member still in HS] remembers that Minhwa's class didn't have PE that day.
) She begins to get tormented worse at school because of appearing on the show. (Maybe she's made fun of for wanting to become famous, but not having any talent because she's useless or something? And then the fangirls are like, "don't you dare get close to our oppas!")
) Her tormenters appear on TV in an interview talking about how they're such great friends and how she's very popular at school. Later, maybe she's pressured into bringing these classmates with her to visit the SM building because they're fans, but later she gets reprimanded by the managers for letting in strangers? (Maybe her classmates caused some mayhem in the building, like terrorizing the idols or something.)

) The group does a variety show and has to go through a haunted house in pairs + solo.
) The members attend Minhwa's graduation and are waylaid by tons fans.
) She is trips on her way up to the stage to get her diploma but plays it off as just tripping. After the ceremony, she is pulled aside by her lovely classmates for their last good-byes (a.k.a. the last time they can torment her at school, but maybe they find other ways?). Maybe a member or manager catches them, and Minhwa begs him/her not to tell the others and/or makes up some excuse.
) Minhwa "falls" down the stairs at school, is knocked out and hospitalized overnight (standard procedure to rule out head injury, other injuries are up to you).  The next time she has to go to school (maybe it's for her graduation), she freaks out and begs not to go, but they just chalk it up to being nervious/normal teenage rebellion. Maybe one of the other members talks about how they also didn't like school but had to suffer through it anyways.
) What about a company Christmas party? Or afterparty for SM town?
) Seol Ae has her wedding ceremony on WGM and invites the Legend members + some idol friends.
) A blind date on WGM? If someone's love interest is someone in Beast, it'd be a perfect opportunity. :)
) If filming isn't wrapped yet, the girls should go support Sky at her filming of Heirs! Or they watch some episodes, because I'd love to see how they react to her acting/character.

) Something really bad happens at their next MV shoot (ala MBLAQ, who had a fire that destroyed all of their outfits, so they had to scramble to get new ones). This is usually a sign of good luck, though!
) Minhwa returns to the dorm during lunch soaking wet and barefoot after some girls dumped water on her in the bathroom. Maybe the members are at practice and some go back to the dorm to grab something just as Minhwa gets out of the shower. They question her why she's not in school, and she makes up some excuse. Or else the girls are already at the dorm and question her when she walks in, but she's shivering so bad (because it's almost or already winter and cold out), so she runs to take a shower and warm up. If you can't think of an excuse...er, maybe she says she fell into the pool? Haha, that's a pretty bad one, though...
) ...
