Everyone's got their own opinion, and no one is wrong for it.

It's just my opinion, but I don't think you should be required to comment or sub to a story you want to read just because it the author's ego. I mean, do you have to do that to read your favorite novels? Magazines? Anything? Are we required to form a bond with the author simply to read a damn story? I get it if it's something you want to keep in a closed community of people because you are afraid of "real people" in your life discovering your stuff. But to demand that the majority of people accomodate your demands is a little ridiculous, especially given that anyone writing on AFF is in the league of hundreds of others who can do the same exact thing as anyone else. It's what we all do here: fanfiction is a dime a dozen. Fanfiction is mass-produced, varies little on themes and, for the most part, is poorly written. It's really not all that special. But if you are writing for yourself isn't it rewarding enough? Who is providing whom a service here? Shouldn't authors be equally grateful for great readers as much as readers grateful for great writers?

I won't do that for the record, though I do employ the "members only" feature on my tiest works because I think that some stories are too hardcore for those so removed from the kpop community that they don't even have a screen-name (and would they really get it any?). But I don't hold it against you if you don't want to comment or sub. Hell, maybe you just want to out without committing. I get it. I sub to stories I haven't read; and yet I read some stories I haven't subbed to. Life's a , huh? Besides, sometimes it's the silent readers who are the most loyal; and sometimes, you just don't have a ing thing to say about what you're reading, you just want to enjoy it for what it is.

I say, do what ever makes you feel good.  on, however you prefer. And if you are so inclined to lavish your favorite authors with affection from time and time again, then god bless you for it. An upvote doesn't hurt either, if you would rather push buttons instead of words.

Wow.
You go girl.
Damn right you are.
I don't really mind not getting comments or subs.
I love the fact that I'm able to post my ideas and people are able to read it.
So I totally agree with you. ^^

I agree with you totally! I hate the whole "I'm not gonna update until I have so many subscribers" game. What about those of us who are subscribed? Do we mean nothing? Not that I think anyone should write for us but I enjoy reading these stories. I cannot write and am jealous of those who can and I definitely enjoy a well written story. I just hate being held hostage to a story while others find it and subscribe. So I appreciate your viewpoint and comments. Almost as much as your stories. :)

I just don't know what to say sometime when I read a story so I don't comment. Once in awhile I will, but most of the time...not really. At first I used to feel bad for not commenting since I know a lot of authors on here hate silent readers, but like you I believe commenting should be a choice to do so or not.

I feel disheartened a little bit if I have no comments sure, but that doesn't stop me from updating ^^ (Well except for writer's block XD)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks most ff is grossly non-appetizing. Not talking about the iness, at all, but about the horrible grammar and spelling.
It may sound weird, but I get chills and can't read a story- even if the plot is the best I've ever seen!- if the grammar and/or spelling is wrong.
But nothing against the author for having the balls to publicize their work to the world. Kudos to you. Just go back to first grade.

.. (:

I usually never comment on your stories
( or on anybody elses for that matter )
I'm not even subbed to half of your stories
(this mostly being because of different otp tastes.)
We don't talk, nor are we friends on aff

yet I stalk your blogs because I enjoy reading them and you are my favorite author on this dumpy site.

I'm glad to hear that you don't feel this way honestly because I really do appreciate every story update that you make even if I don't comment or sub. I'm aware of the hard work and research you do to make your stories as detailed and well written as they are.

i was just thinking about this omg. thank you for typing this blog u_u one of my favorite eunhae authors was being a total and was technically like "omfg i work so hard for you guys and if you dont comment i wont update." im usually a silent reader until i find something interesting to talk about. but seriously? im not obliged to comment to make yourself feel better ene;;;;

I get what you're saying. I find it annoying when you have to sub to read a story or when you have to be the authors friend to read a story which sounds pretty basic (like wth?)

It's always nice to have a comment and to get love though. I mean I feel if a person was truly writing just for themselves then they would just type on word and wouldn't share it to the world. I mean if they were writing just for themselves then why would they share their story on a website were basically anyone can see and a site that also encourages people to communicate?

But I agree with hating the authors that are like 'I won't update if you guys don't comment!' Because then I just feel like the author doesn't even care about their work, or has no clue where their story is going tbh.

I think there should be a balance between writing for yourself because you take pride in your work, but also being thankful for a comment and replying back because you care for what your readers think, if that makes sense. :)

I'm so glad that you brought this up, Noona. It's been nagging me for awhile. Sometimes I feel like people would rather flaunt with big numbers than showcase their work. I've been considering hiding my karma, view, and sub count for this reason. I'd rather be judged for the content I create rather than the number of people I attract.

Silent readers are ninjas. Like Naruto (minus the obnoxious part (but I love him so))! Loyal and energetic to read stories, and always there to help you up
