“Yeah, I made them because there were a lot of eggs in the fridge, and this is your favorite dish.” I say.

“Mm, it’s delicious! It tastes just like the ones I grew up with!” Uncle grinned widely.

“It must be a recipe passed down in our family,” I say, chuckling.

“Even though I’ve eaten at the best restaurants. . . I think the best tasting chawanmushi is the one made at home.” Uncle said, smiling.
