Writing My Stories

Hi! Writer nchopsticks here.

I had a small conversation with one of my readers, swooner, earlier today, and it inspired me to write this post. So I guess it's just blabber, but I felt the need to write it down. Lol wow. I don't expect anyone to read, but ah well.

Just a caveat: I realize that I won't ever be AFF famous or anything like that, but that's okay. I have some pretty amazing and loyal readers that I would never in a million years want to replace. You guys are seriously amazing :D

The real reason for writing this is my wish to give you guys a glimpse of what I think about as I write my stories. I know part of the reason why I am not AFF famous is because my characters lack the spunkiness or the cute adorable-ness that most other fics have. They're all very laid-back, very normal people. Often, no quality they possess makes them amazing or a stand-out among the crowd. But I hope that because of those qualities, my characters appeal to you, my readers, more. Because you can actually see a glimpse of yourselves as you read it. Sometimes, my OC's can be irrational, sometimes they're confused, sometimes they act selfishly, sometimes they're scared, and a lot of times, they're just as unsure as we are when we have to make important decisions. I hope that as you read, you grasp that sense of realism I try to sprinkle in. Because as amazing as our oppars are, they're all human beings as well. They don't just fall for people with amazing bodies and boundless talent and hearts of gold. They could fall in love at the most random encounters, and sometimes, they fall in love for no apparent reason other than a connection they felt with another individual. It's simple as that. I understand that it's a letdown from our natural tendency to try giving everything pizzazz, but it's my form of giving people hope: you don't have to be pretty, or amazing, or broken to be given attention. You could just be you. And hopefully, that's enough.

Also, since we're talking about broken, I realize that I never really write about broken, crushed spirits who need fixing. As I've said through a character's dialogue in my story, to be in a fulfilled relationship, you have to be fulfilled with yourself first. You need to be satisfied in your own skin to make your future partner comfy in the relationship. I realize that two broken spirits could come together to heal each other's wounds, but let's face it, I am not emotionally nuanced enough to write about stuff like that. I'm a young writer, and I'm as normal and as boring as can be. Haha

Now that I think about it, I guess I write boring situations too. LOL the dialogue doesn't really contain anything amazing, either. It's two people talking... like normal people. Heh. So I guess it just goes along the same vein as the OC's I create. They're supposed to be as natural as you can get.

So, that's it, guys. Hahaha nothing groundbreaking or earth-shattering. Just my thoughts. If you've read this far, man, I am amazed. How did you put up with it? LOL Thanks. ^_^

your characters are realistic. Their personalities are very well-written. I've read and subscribed to Office Romance (?) honestly I thought it was going to be cliche' but once I read it, it was totally different from what I imagined. The details, the plot and the characters are more realistic and closer to what I would prefer as a fanfiction then those fluffy nerdy girl x hot kingka shizz I find 1000000x a day. I can relate more to your characters then any other fictional being out there in the AFF world. I'm glad you cherish your readers! :D byebye! and sorry for just randomly commenting. I know I'm weird. "Because you can actually see a glimpse of yourselves as you read it." that's exactly why i love your stories so much. it's just realistic and nothing more. Plus it also shows us that idols are NORMAL HUMAN BEINGS too. i think that most AFF writers give fangirls false hope...ok not hope but they make it seem as if idols would only fall for people who have flawless looks...as if their biases wouldn't fall for a normal girl. If their biases wouldn't debut they would be plain "normal" people like us too? why do so many ppl forget about this? That they also could fall for "normal" people. ahhh i dont know what to say anymore but i seriously love your story and i love you! (yes i do eventho i dont know you) you are an amazing author and as far as i can see from reading your comments...and you're always so caring towards your readers you seem to be such a nice person irl too. Who cares if you're AFF famous or not? We, your readers, love your stories the way they are! i'm talking too much bs again *crawls away*

You are awesome. I love your characters so much for all of the reasons you just said ^^ there's sooo many fics that are mostly about someone who's pretty messed up and it can be depressing to read that 24/7 (because I do read ff 24/7xD) so its nice to read something realistic that I can actually picture myself in, because after all, isn't that the main reason we read Bias/Oc fics? ^^ keep writing! <3 (and chat to me on fb kk? (/'3')/)

See? Haven't I been telling you this whole time that I've loved your OCs' personalities? Truly, I love their humor, how comfortable thy are, and how real they are^^ I'm glad that you see that and can always make your characters in one way or another like this. Fighting! :D
