Runway Beat (Japanese movie) review

I decided to watch this movie because of Seto Koji ^^ I also discovered that Sakuraba Nanami (Summer Wars, Koie Akuma & LIMIT) and Kichise Michiko (Bloody Monday) stars in it. I'm not a fan of either of them, but Michiko's acting in Bloody Monday is freaking awesome! Even though she was a bad guy (girl), you can't help but like her.

Just like in Death Note, Light is technically a bad guy, but you can't help but love him.

When i first heard of this movie i thought it would be like the japanese live action movie Paradise Kiss. They have the same plot - a fashion show. But as i watched Runway Beat, i see that they are different.

I liked this movie alot. It doesn't beat Paradise Kiss, but it's still worth wathcing =) There were a few sad scenes and i was a little disappointed that the main characters didn't end up together, but the movie was good, so i'll let it slip =)

There isn't much romance in this, there are a few characters that develope feelings for each other, but nothing much happens. It focuses more on this boy moving away from his grandfather to his father who he doesn't like, because he wasn't in the hospital when his mother died. He was busy making clothes, so you'll see their relationship and if the son forgives his father or not.

And then you have his sister who is in the hospital because she has cancer. It focuses mostly on that and the difficulties of running a fashion show on your own.

Score: 8/10

I really loved this movie, because I expected the typical love story-thing and it came out much better, focusing on the character's own problems.

It was nice and inspiring, if you ask me. :,3
