Graphic Help --- Only For Gimp Users

Help!~ >3< So I have gimp, and I don't know what version it is. But oh well, anyways here's some questions.

1. How do you remove the background but keep the lasso-ed area?

2. So, I lasso-ed and remove the background and crap, and then i had to lasso out this area, but it wouldn't let me, how could I lasso the layer a second time?

3. How do you drag to images onto that one um, background or whatever?

OMG. I'M A NEWBIE, K? I DON'T EVEN USE GIMP ALL THAT WELL. I USED PHOTOSHOP BUT NOW LIKE THE SERIAL CODE IS NOT EVEN WORKING SO.. YEAH.

1. If I get what you're asking, you can lasso the area then got to Select - Invert - Delete.

2. I never done that before, sorry..

3. If I also get what you're asking here, just copy and paste the image then right click - to new layer.

I don't think I helped, but oh well. Hope you will solve your problems. (:

You can click on the gimp tag to browse for tutorials. Here is one that I saved just in case I'll need gimp: http://www.asianfanfics.com/story/view/154324/gimp-innovations-poster-gimp-tutorials

Maybe you can find the answer in that thread, not as a specific topic, but as part of simple poster tutorials. Another place that offers gimp tutorials is InDesign, esp their cutting tutorials, wherein they present both PS and Gimp tools and how to use them.
