koreans globally are short but when compared to other Asian nationalities like Japanese for instance they are pretty tall. average height for males is around 165 - 170 and for females its 150-155. you can notice that someone like SNSD's Sooyoung 173, is considered a giant to them and DBSK YUNHO too who is 190 something

Korean guys tall??? What?? Where have you heard that? I think that Koreans are pretty short... Here a guy is considered tall at 185cm and short if they're below 180... but it's probably a cultural thing. Scandinavians are quite tall on world scale.
As for Jonghyun, I think he is about 170cm, definitely no more than that. Usually internet profiles exaggerate at least by 3cm. So it's not like he is short but if you compare to, say 2min, who are both above 180, he does look short...

In Korea Jonghyun is average. But many idols are chosen because of their impressive height. Generally, yes though in comparison to other Asian races Korean men are tall. The ones I've seen around international cities were almost all several heads taller than my 5 ft. I don't think they tower like Western men who often get up past 6 and a half feet. So by our standards in the western world most Kireans are short haha. But like I said in Asian standards, Koreans are tall

Idk, I personally think that there's as much tall Koreans as there are tall people in every Asian race. Some of the Korean people in my school are pretty tall, while others are pretty short. Regular height, I guess.

As for Jonghyun, I'm guessing that it's because he's in the entertainment industry and aesthetics are everything. Being tall is important for his job, so since he's not as tall as most male idols, they make fun of him. But for an average guy, he's definitely not short.

Most of korean guys/girls are tall. And maybe for them, guys with heights around 173-176cm are short.

I had a korean schoolmate before when i was in highschool. I was in senior high and he was my junior by a year but he was way taller than i was (i'm around 164cm)


And his brother by the time was in 5th grade... He was so cute and squishy, but after 2-3 years, he became taller than his brother O.O around 178-180cm O.O
