She does not wear skirts. She'll put on makeup if the event calls for it.)

Personality:

Minnie isn't shy. She's just quiet. It allows her to think and observe people. She likes people and she likes to interact with people, but she's just naturally quiet. If you talk to her, she will talk back like a normal human being. Minnie is dedicated to anything she loves. Her grandmother always told her: "What is worth doing is worth doing right." She took that to heart as a young child. (This is why she quit pageants, because she wasn't dedicated to them.) She is dedicated to dancing. She will practice every day, because it is important to her and she loves it. She is dedicated to her group, because they all worked hard and she will not fail them. She is dedicated to her family because they love her and provided her a good life. (She knows she'll take care of her parents when she is older.) She is dedicated to her friends, because they made an effort to know her, and she will make an effort to always be their friend. Simply, if she does it, she's going to put more than one hundred percent effort into it because she loves, otherwise she wouldn't be doing it. Minnie is very observant. It goes along with her being quiet. Since she's quiet, she has time to observe people. She picks up nuisances of certain people, so she can easily tell when people are lying, angry, sad, distracted, in love. That doesn't mean she judges people. It just means that she notices people and figures them out. It comes in handy, so that way she can comfort or confront people about what they are feeling. Minnie is very calm. Her grandmother would yell at her to stop crying, or stop yelling, or stop laughing so loud, or stop smiling so wide. Her grandmother had always wanted her daughter, Minnie's mother, to be calm and defined, but she was too hyper and loud to fit that mold. However, she was able to mold Minnie into that mold. She told her: To be calm on the outside, and leave your feelings on the inside. Minnie really took that to heart. She generally doesn't look emotional or extremely passionate about anything. Yes, maybe she'll express a small frown, or small smile, or produce a short giggle, but otherwise she's calm. They way her grandmother taught her, makes her look emotionless and apathetic, when she really isn't. She just has problems expressing her emotions, and hates feeling extreme emotions. The problem is that it is so instilled in her, that it is hard to break. However, her calm persona is great in panicky situations since she won't freak out and can get the job done. Still, there are days when she can't be calm and all her barriers break down. Around family, and good friends, she can act a bit more expressive. It is hard to honestly tell what she is feeling and that is aggravating and annoying for some people. Despite her quiet, apathetic / cold appearance, she is really nice and friendly. Though it may seem like she doesn't look excited, her tone of voice is warm. She doesn't hate people, or the world. She will interact with people and hold a conversation as long as they are interested. She'll compliment people and give advice if she wants to. Minnie really doesn't know what she wants in life. She always has this tug within her between staying in her calm shell, or leaving. Most of the time, she stays in her shell. Still, the tug is persistent. Also, she's just fickle in little things like what she wants to eat or bake, or do. That is why she sets up a routine for herself.

Background:

Minnie was born to her parents in Englishtown, New Jersey. Her brother was eight at the time of her birth. Sadly, her father was part of the National Guard and was stationed to California. He didn't want to make his family move again, so he went California, while they stayed in New Jersey. Minnie was only three months so she didn't exactly remember it. Her father was stationed in California for five years, but he visited for some holidays and random visits. Since her father wasn't physically there the first five years of her life, Minnie grew up with her maternal grandfather as her male-father figure. He used to tell her stories and encouraged her to be religious. She also grew up with her maternal grandmother who was the strictest, cal, person on earth. Minnie's personality was deeply carved by her grandmother's constant nagging and discipline. (She scared Minnie.) Her grandparents owned a flower shop, in which Minnie and her older brother helped with. Their grandparents also lived with them and spoke Italian with them. Minnie and her brother grew up bilingual in English and Italian.  They were also the first generation of their maternal side to be born in America. Minnie was very close with her brother growing up. He protected her from anything that seemed like a threat, including rain, but also relentlessly. He made her cry a lot, which she hated. Still, they got along very well. Minnie's mother didn't act much like a parent, but more like a friend / sister. It was alright when Minnie was younger, but as she got older, it got annoying. Also, her mother never stopped Minnie's maternal grandmother from nagging at Minnie. Still, her mother would do anything to protect her children and wanted them to be happy, especially since their father wasn't a constant in their life for a while.

As a child, Minnie's mother enrolled her in dancing, gymnastics, and pageants when she was three. Minnie quickly fell in love with dancing since her family loved music, and she also enjoyed gymnastics since it was like dancing. However, she didn't like pageants because some of the other girls were rude. When she was four, Minnie started soccer and tennis. She enjoyed both, since her family all played soccer and tennis was the only sport that her mother played. Her family went to church every Sunday, and Minnie was active in her church at a young age. She would play an angel in the Christmas play or help decorate the church. She grew up religious.

When Minnie started school, she originally went to an all girl’s Catholic school. She didn't like it, because she didn't like having to wear the awkward skirts, but her neighbor went there too so she wasn't totally alone in her dislike for the school. Also, she didn't like the uncomfortable benches they had to pray on and no one, besides her neighbor friend, actually went to her church. When she was in the third grade, she went to the public school a couple of blocks away from her. She enjoyed it much better. By this time, her father was officially home and getting his teaching degree. He would help her with her homework and such. She also enjoyed the freedom to wear whatever she wanted. She joined her elementary school's reading club, and she got free books, which was awesome.

Growing up, Minnie and her brother didn't know much about their Korean heritage. Their paternal grandparents had not approved of their parents marriage and had disowned their father. It wasn't much of a problem, but then one day they got an invitation to a family reunion in South Korea! (Minnie was ten and her brother eighteen.) They went, and surprisingly, they were mostly accepted by their family. Her Korean side of the family really like Minnie since she looked more Korean than Italian, unlike her brother who looked more Italian than Korean, and was very polite and calm. When they got back to America, they kept in touch with them.

During the middle of her sixth grade year, Minnie's paternal grandparents suggested that the family move to South Korea, since Minnie's brother had graduated high school, and Minnie hadn't fully been engrossed in middle school. It took a lot of debating, but Minnie and her mother realized how much their father / husband must have missed his family and homeland, so at the end of Minnie's sixth grade year, they moved to Incheon, South Korea. At first, it had been harder to adjust because Minnie knew very limited Korean and music and dance were different in South Korea, but eventually she got accustomed to it. Her brother did not really like the move, but he it up. Her father got a job as a chemistry teacher at a local high school, and her mother finally opened up her dream boutique. It was sad to leave her friends and Italian family in New Jersey, but Minnie enjoyed the new adventure that South Korea presented.

Sadly, Minnie never dated anyone in America or South Korea. In America, her brother practically breathed down when it came to boys, and she didn't like how touchy they were. In South Korea, the boys in her middle school were just a bit too cute for her to date. Not to mention, she's good at "friend zoning" boys. At school in America, Minnie had been well known because of her brother and was like a dancing queen and a soccer maniac with her childhood best friend, who is just now her friend. In South Korea, since Minnie didn't have the best Korean, she went to an international school. She made friends, but most spoke English, so she didn't really get to practice her Korean and make Korean native friends. Also, the closest cathedral to her new home was two hours away. That didn't stop her from attending mass, but she couldn't be really involved with her new church as much as she wanted, not to mention the language barrier.

A big problem for Minnie is that even know she looks more Korean than Italian, she doesn't look full Korean and others notice that. She's got some rude comments here and there, but she brushes it off.

Friends and Family

Family

Ok Min Ju | 48 | Chemistry Teacher | He is quiet like his daughter and is supportive of whatever his children want. He is also an amazing listener. Min Ju feels bad that he couldn't be with his daughter growing up and made her inadvertently move to a new country. He loves her though. Since both are quiet, they end up talking about very abstract things, but Minnie goes to him for life advice. When he is being serious, he calls her by her first name; otherwise he calls her his Tinnie Minnie. Whenever Minnie is around him, she has a smile on her face, whether small or large. Her father generally makes her happy. He puts her happiness above all. Unlike his son and his son's best friend, he isn't overly protective of his daughter. He encourages her to interact and make friends, but he always makes sure that she isn't going to feel uncomfortable. Unlike his wife, he isn't obsessed with his daughter’s love life. He'll approve of anyone that makes her happy, and he'll know before anyone since Minnie tells him most everything. Though Min Ju does not spoil his children, he would give everything Minnie ever wanted to make her happy. He loves her and she loves him. | Extremely close. | Alive

Ok Cassandra Francessca | 47 | Botique Owner | She is the opposite of her daughter. She is a hyper, persuassive fashionista. She is the definition of a socialite. Cassandra is very persuasive and convinced her daughter to go shopping with her every month. Minnie doesn't mind since she has a great fashion sense. Occasionally, Minnie will help her mother at her boutique. Also, Cassandra occassionally says things that may come off as rude when she doesn't mean it. | A teenage sister close that is really tentative.  | Alive

Adonis Giovanni Ok | 25 | Internship in Directoring | Addie, Minnie's nickname for her older brother , is a witty, sarcastic person who takes life too serious someetimes. He doesn't particularly like his nickname. He is very, very protective of his sister and does not like the thought of her being harmed. However, he enjoys teasing her a bit. They don't agree on a lot of things, from fashion to their parents to their religion, but they always agree to disagree which allows them to have a strong relationship. Unlike his sister, Addie isn't very close to their father and prefers their mother. (Addie helps her get out of uncomfortable situations with their mother, while Minnie helps him get out of awkward silences with their father.) Right now he lives in New Jersey, but he visits often. He doesn't exactly support her idol life because he doesn't think it's a safe career, but he agrees to disagree. They get along well, despite their large . She calls him every night. He's a bit mean to her friends, especially the male ones that aren't Taecyeon. | They agree to disagree, and get along well. | Alive

Best Friends:

Minzy | 18 | Member of 2NE1 | Minzy is a chill, funny person with a passion for dance. Minzy constantly bugs Minnie to relax and let loose, and Minnie does. Minzy actually calls Minnie by her nickname and not her stage name. They talk about boys, dancing, music, and food. Minnie allows herself to get flustered and 'girly' around Minzy, which Minzy finds funny. However, they both share tips on dancing, rapping, and singing. Though Minnie learns more from Minzy than Minzy probably learns from her. They support each other. They try to hang out whenever time permits it. Minnie teaches her some English in return for some Korean lessons. Minnie is Minzy's voice of reason, while Minzy is Minnie's insensible voice of courage. They're a funny pair. Minzy also loves to , a lot.  | They are practically sisters.

L.Joe | 20 | Member of Teen Top | L.Joe is very charming and polite. He's not a big talker, but he isn't quiet. He can be a bit awkward, but tries to make sure that others don't feel awkward as well, so people feel very comfortable around him. They text more than they talk to each other, but besides Taecyeon, he is the only non-family male that Minnie calls 'oppa'. They talk about their life in America and he treats her like a little sister. They play matchmaker together. He always tries to make Minnie feel safe and comfortable. They agree on everything and they greet each other warmly when they see each other around. However, they are careful to act distant in public so that scandals and rumors don't arise. Very few people know how close they actually are. Only Melody's leader, Minzy, and CAP know the extent of our friendship.  | They are like twin best friends in private, and distant in public.

Friends:
Ok Taceyeon | 25 | Member of 2PM | Taceyeon is practically Minnie's other brother. They are very close.
Juliet Garcia | 16 | Student in America | They don't talk everyday, but they are pretty close.
Sohyun | 18 | Member of 4Minute | They are semi-close.

Rival:
Kyrstal | 19 | Member of f(x) | Kyrstal is outgoing and very clever, but she has a tendacy to be ridiculously analytical about things. Minnie and Kyrstal don't talk anymore, but they both grumble about each other to friends and family, though Minnie doesn't mention her name. There is always tension whenever they are near each other. The imaginary score is even, for now. Minnie seriously does not enjoy Krystal or her presence and vice versa. Krystal is willing to do more and act on her distaste more than Minnie will, especially since she doesn't want to compromise Melody's status. | When Minnie decided to try out for TV Pre-School Pani Pani , Krystal was also going to try out. They had met on friendly terms backstage, and shared a giggle over the fact that they were the only two people who could speak clear English fluently. They both made it to the final two, which wasn't much a surprise. However, Minnie got accepted, which everyone was baffled as because Krystal was famous, and that was why she didn't get it. Minnie felt bad about it and tried to console her about it, but Krystal would have nothing of it. Accidentally, Minnie told her the Korean proverb: Butterflies come to pretty flowers. Krystal interpreted the wrong way and took it as salt to an open wound, when Minnie just meant that she would receive better opportunities. Krystal decided that Minnie was more arrogant and stuck up than she originally let on.

I Love You

Love Interest: Changjo

Group: Teen Top

Age: 17

Personality:

He's quiet and strong headed. He can't always express his feelings through words to people he holds dear, but he uses his actions to speak for himself. He is dedicated to Teen Top, dancing, his friends, and his family. We usually interact at school. At first, it took us a while to become something akin to acquaintances. They usually talk about dances or new music, but it's more interesting for Minnie to talk to him about them than other people. He's pretty nice to Minnie and opens doors for her and gives her his jacket to cover her legs during lunch and breaks. However, they like to show each other dances they've learned. He makes Minnie flustered and almost shy, especially when he dances so charismatically. (It's weird since she has a strong sense of control over her emotions.) Still, they don't know much about the other since all they talk about is dance and music. They don't have each other’s numbers and generally don't interact outside of school.

How you met:

When Minnie was selected for Glory, she transferred to a different school. She was put in Changjo's class and they began to work together by default.

Back-up Love Interest: Kwangmin

Group: Boyfriend

Age: 16

Personality:

Kwangmin is really sweet and kind of shy. He doesn't try and impress people but does it naturally with his charm and warm words. He knows how to treat a girl, whether he realizes it or not. He isn't as confident as Youngmin, but he's got a backbone and is really chilvarious. He's down to Earth and loves kids. He strives for perfection.

How you met:

They met at an ice cream shop. Minnie was waiting for L.Joe and he was waiting for Donghyun. The waiter / cashier guy taught they were together and put them in a table together. It was awkward and neither of them wanted to leave because it would seem rude. Minnie then got a text message from L.Joe saying he couldn't make it. Kwangmin simultaneously got one from Donghyun saying that he couldn't make it. They awkwardly decided to stay and got ice cream together. By the end of their misadventure, they became closer and exchanged numbers.

Character Info

Stage Name: Sun Neul

Persona: The Calm One

Fanclub name: Tinnie Minnies

Fanclub color: Sky Blue

Trainee Years: Two Years

What was it like?:

Trainee life was a bit refreshing for her because she had been cooped up at home when she wasn't at school, church, or TV Pre-School Pani Pani. It allowed her to test her Korean and dance to her heart’s content. However, her quiet personality got the best of her and her Korean still wasn't always understandable. She quickly began to inwardly feel awkward and pushed herself to be become better in dance, and Korean to make up for her lack of social skill. (She realized that some of the other trainees looked down on her because she didn't interact with them much.) Eventually, her will became too much for her body and she would have days where she just couldn't do anything. She didn't fully feel depressed, but she felt the occasional pang of loneliness a lot. (It was one of the few times in life where she wished she were outgoing and a socialite.) Her family was worried about her, and she was tempted to quit, but then all her hard work would be for nothing. So, she eventually balanced her will to get better with reality and was able to stay healthy. One day, some of the other English speaking trainees spoke to her in English, and she was able to begin friendships. They inspired her to not give up and told her to rest a bit. They even invited her to hang out with them sometimes. It was really nice, and trainee life became a lot easier after that.

Trainee Background:She was the host / teacher of Pre-School TV Pani Pani. She also danced on stage with Teen Top in their song  Girlfriend.

Position: Lead Dancer ; Sub-Rapper

Main Rapper ; Sub-Dancer

Solo Activities: She has done a photoshoot for Elle and Teen Vogue.

Scandals: Once promotions start, Melody seems to always end up next to Boyfriend if they are around. Minnie always ends up standing or sitting next to Kwangmin, which leads people to believe that they are in a relationship. It also doesn't help that they go to the same school, but the funny thing is that they've never talked to each other a day in their lives (unless they end up being love interest).

Comments?: Good luck with your story!

Scene Requests: A scene where Melody is on a Variety Show with Teen Top. The MC announces that Changjo and Minnie go to the same school and are in the same class, which causes both of them to be embarrassed. The Melody members are surprised as well as the Teen Top members. Changjo and Minnie admit that they are friends, which everyone thinks is cute. Also, a scene in an empty room in the school Changjo is practicing in and Minnie accidentally walks in to practice. She's apologizes and is ready to leave, but Changjo stops her and ask to see what she's got since she's the lead dancer of Main. They both end up dancing together for a while, and at the end Minnie becomes a bit flustered.
