Anti Russian Exotic Facebook Page?
So a few hours ago, a facebook page was put up called "Anti Russian Exotics" or something like that. It was made by some immature 16 year old girl who was very angry about Exo taking pictures with the Russian fans, especially the female model that posed with Kris in one. She had taken that picture and drawn devil horns and a tail on her in red. Needless to say, I had immediately reported her and her page right after reading what it was all about.
In one post, she had said that she would not feel bad about leaving the Exo fandom, because there were so many other better bands like 2ne1 and such, also saying that the Exo boys were untalented and only relied on their looks to gain fame. Many people dissagreed with her, of course, and most told her to take down the page. Some nicely, and some not so nicely. But there was still that small amount of people who agreed with her and wanted to "kill the Russian fans"
Now, returning to the female model. She had no idea at the time, of who Kris even was. She posted the picture of them together on Instigram and added the caption "what's his name?" I'm assuming that the only thing she knew about him was that he was from a thing called Exo, judging by the hashtag of the post, stating "ExoinRussia".
Honestly, the girl who made the Facebook page did NOT know what she was getting herself into. Within an hour, many people had reported her and it was a topic on Tumblr. Many Exo fans from around the world sent her hate, and I must grudgingly admit, that I had also commented a few slightly mean things on her posts. This, I deeply apologise for. Me saying things like that made me no better than her.
What makes me so adamently against this, is that this is cyberbullying. But I think it is almost a hundred times worse in my book. Not only was she bullying a single person, a single fan, she was hating on an entire RACE. An entire race of Exotics.
Of course, she became aware of all the hate she was getting, so she put a post saying that if that got 75 likes, she would take down the page. Seeing as to 75 people in the world of hundreds of thousaands of fans, that really isn't a lot, so she soon put up another post, claiming that 75 was too little, and that the new number was 500. As a girl on Tumblr put it, "500 likes is 500 peope that dislike you." I didn't check her page after that until someone on Tumblr told me that she had taken down the page. I went to check, and sure enough, it was unavailable. Now I don't know if she had actually reached 500 likes or if she just snapped under all the pressure, but I DO know, that what she did was wrong, and our fandom came up to fight her. I mean, just think about it. What do you think would have happened or how they woukd have felt if Exo had sonehow found that page? I'm sure they wouldn't feel proud of this so called "fan".
So to wrap this all up, please, don't hate on any of the Russian fans for doing what you cannot, for getting what you want, for rightfully earning it by being respectful and calm at the airport. They've done nothing wrong, only what we should have done right. Don't blame them or be angry. Instead, be happy for them. Be happy because that may have been the first and the last time they ever meet Exo again.
