Hwa Yeon was born with a silver spoon in .Her parents doted on her. Everything she ever wanted, they would give her. But they wouldn't allow her to be a spoiled brat. Eversince she was little, she was educated with tons of classes. Every Saturday at 7 am, she would get up by herself and get ready for her manner class that started at 7:30 in the morning. She was taught how to behave properly, what to say and what not to say around the public. All sorts of things. At 8:30, her personal English teacher would come to their villa and teach her. Eversince she could remember, her parents only listened to the English news that some channels provided, so her English was tip-top. At 10 am, she would go to her mathematics tution and her science tution, ending at 1pm.  She would have lunch and would study till it's 6pm. After dinner, she would be able to play or do anything she liked till 10 pm and then she would be told to go to sleep. On Sunday, she has piano class starting from 7:30 in the morning till 12 noon. At 2pm, she has guitar class for one hour. For the rest of the day she would be free to do anything she wanted.

 

Hwa Yeon never once complained because she knew that her parents were trying to make her the best and because she knew that education was a luxury that not everybody got to have. Her parents never onced ignored her though, they were there throughout her school days. Despite their busy work, they always had time for her. Hwa Yeon's brother acccompanied her to all her tutions and they grew up close with each other. They never once fought because they were very similar. But her brother died when she was 13. He was 15 at that time and he died because of a strange illness. Their mother was pregnant and she had almost had a miscarriage from the tremendous shock. It took a while for Hwa Yeon to recover from the grief. Her parents thought that it was the best for her to quit the tutions and classes for awhile. 

 

  When her mother gave birth to her little sister, Hwa Yeon hated the baby. She thought that her brother had passed to make way for the baby. Till her sister was 4, she hated every bit of her. Hwa Yeon thought that she was a brat, she thought that the girl stole her brother's life away from her. Hwa Yeon never once fought with her parents but she did when her sister was born. Hwa Yeon had cut off her hair and her sister cried. Her parents were so angry at her for being so immature that they didn't talk to her for a week. But when Hwa Yeon was 17, a thief had broken into their house and the baby was hurt. Hwa Yeon realized that she might lose her family member anytime, without a warning. She realized that she had to love her sister before god took her away. Hwa Yeon started treating her more nicely, and she too doted on her. 

 

Hwa Yeon passion for music dissapeared though when her brother died. She started writing but she wasn't any good at it. She was fixed on becoming a writer though. One day, her teacher was talking about careers at school. She said a sentence that Hwa Yeon could never erase from her mind - "Even if you are passionate about something, if you have no skills then the passion would be useless. If you have skills but you are not passionate about it, you could at least contribute to the country." Hwa Yeon started loving music again and her parents saw the change in her.

 

Hwa Yeon's parents are the type who would do anything for their children. At first Hwa Yeon found this sufficating and she disliked them for their tendecy to give her everything. She thought that there were other kids in need. But she learnt to accept the fact that she can't help everyone. Hwa Yeon is obedient towards her parents and she's very close to them. Her parents tend to be very soft with her and they listen to her wishes. Their interaction with each other though is not the usual family interaction. Her parents speak to her like she's a grown up and like she doesn't really need their guidance. They trust her decisions and they don't pry much into her school life. Hwa Yeon is very thankful towards them and whenever she's home, she focuses fully on her family. Although, she's not really the talkative type, when she needs advice, she goes to her mother and she does a lot of mother-daughter aegyos to make her mother happy.

 

Hwa Yeon rarely talks to her father and when she does, it's always about things like - 'how is school like?' or something along the line. When Hwa Yeon's brother was alive, they were always together. They didn't talk much - they just had to be with each other. They had so much in common that they didn't need to even talk to express their wants. They would be able to just look each other in the eyes and they would know what the other wants. At school they were called 'The Colld Woo Duo' because they didn't really talk to other people beside themselves. Hwa Yeon and her little sister are different though. Whenever Hwa Yeon goes home, Hye Yeon would continuesly chat and Hwa Yeon doesn't mind that at all. She loves how Hye Yeon could express her feelings so easily, how she projects her hapiness to the people around her. She likes to ask Hye Yeon and their mother to go on shopping trips together when she goes home. Hwa Yeon knows that Hye Yeon can be a little lonely at the house because their parents were always busy so she does everything Hye Yeon asks her to do.

Hwa Yeon is often described as 'arrogant rich kid' but that is far from the real her. Her mother always taught her to keep a controlled and cool expression so that people won't know her weakness and people often mistake this as arrogance. Hwa Yeon is never rude though when people bash her for her stone face. She instead comes up with a polite respond that would leave the haters speachless. Although she seems strong on the outside, Hwa Yeon is very soft on the inside. She would rush off to the most deserted place in school and she would cry her heart out there. Her mother's words remains in her head - "A proper lady should never be seen crying'. As Hwa Yeon is a recomended student, most students think that she's full of herself thought that is the complete opposite. Hwa Yeon thinks that she is just someone who needed to be pushed before having the courage to perform infront of people. She thinks that the other students are far better than she is for having the courage to apply to the school so she tends to stay away from other students. According to her - they are the upper class, I am the lower class -.

 

Hwa Yeon is polite and her conscience is strong. She knows whats wrong and whats right. Even when she's mad, she controls her words and she never lets the anger get the best of her. Hwa Yeon refuses any type of misbehaviour and she's always a perfectionist at what she does. That is the product of years of manner classes. Her politeness and her hatred towards anything out of the ordinary often causes her to be lonely. Nobody wants an uptight kid for a friend. No matter what anyone says, she won't change her true self. Because of her polite and mature personality, the teachers like her a lot and they always ask her favor to do tasks. But one of her classmates is also like her and that is how she found her bestfriend. They are both the teacher's pets.

 

Hwa Yeon is extremely loyal. Even if someone gives her the opportunity to go to France and live in luxury in exchange for her bestfriend, she still won't go. Hwa Yeon is one of the people that once she gets something valuable, she won't let go. Although she doesn't have a lot of friends, she is very close with her group of a few people. Although she doesn't normally get angry at people easily, when someone talks badly about her friends or family, her temper would quickly rise and she would have to exit the room before she blows up. Hwa Yeon refuses to actually tell them face to face to shut up though because she finds confronting people a little too intimidating. 

 

Although Hwa Yeon can be a little plain and 2 dimensional towars strangers, she can get a little hyper with her close friends. When with strangers, her face would be stony and her eyes would seem unconcerned but around her friends she would uncounsiously laugh and smile a lot. By the end of the day, she would feel as if her jaw hurt from all the laughing although she thinks that even around her friends, she has a cold face. Hwa Yeon tends to be a little ignorant about inappropriate stuff like ertic things so when her friends make etic jokes, she would be left out cold as she doesn't understand anything. But one of her closest friend noticed her frustration towards them and explained a lot of the things that they talk about. Hwa Yeon ended up regreting her curiosity.

Everything his wife said, he just had to agree with, nothing else. When Hwa Yeon was younger, he used to be very close to her but when she grew up in front of his eyes, he found them distancing from each other. He knows that Hwa Yeon thinks lowly of herself in the academy so when she brings her several friends home, he feels very thankful towards them. When around Hwa Yeon's friends, he becomes a cool older friend for all of them. He gives them advices from time to time.

 

Min Soojung | 43 | sculptor | mother | Hwa Yeon's mother is more of the elegant type. Although she advises Hwa Yeon to have a blank face, she herself is very frequent smiler. She, although the easily worried type, doesn't fuss easily. She believes that with a clear head, she can think more clearly and she can face the problem better. Towards Hwa Yeon's friends, she is very motherly and she urges them to call her 'eomonim'.

 

Woo Hye Yeon | 8 | student | younger sister | Hye Yeon is just like her sister - spoiled, but not spoiled - She knows what's wrong and right at such a young age. She matured quickly due to having to grow up with her sister's quiet mature personality. Although matured, she has a great sense of humor and Hwa Yeon's friends adore her. Hwa Yeon doesn't seem to care though, she's happy that her sister is happy. Hwa Yeon is constantly apologizing to Hye Yeon for her immature behaviour when Hye Yeon was younger but honestly Hye Yeon doesn't remember much about those dark moments so she feels really bad that her sister stills remember them.

 

Woo Iljung | 23 | - | deceased brother | Iljung was a fun person to be with. The family doesn't normally talk about him though they visit his graveyard every year. They prefer not to bring up memories that could open up old wounds.

yixing | 22 | student | friends | Hwa Yeon and her family once stayed for a year in China and she met Yixing there, he was a senior at her school. Yixing is randomly funny and he makes everyone laugh without having the intentions to do so because he's quiet silly sometimes.

During high school, she sat next to him for 3 years straight. They normally would get paired together for projects. At first, Hwa Yeon tried to convince him to do some work too but in the end she gives up because of his 'I-don't-give-a-damn-about-people-around-me' attitude.

history:  Luna is in the drama department so Hwa Yeon always visit her there. Luna always bragged about handsome seniors and nice friends. Hwa Yeon was really curious about the department and roamed around one day. Luna left her midway for a practice session so she just walked around, not entirely sure of her directions. She was suddenly tired and went into one empty room to sit around. She ended up having a nap there. When she woke up, Suho was in the room too, sleeping next to her. She left him there and a week after, Luna introduce him to her. At first, it was awkward between them because he was so shy and she had a permanent stone face on around him. But since they shared the same group of friends they got to know each other undirectly.

 

Even after a month of knowing each other, Hwa Yeon couldn't really speak to him. She found that he projected his hapiness too much and she was really uncomfotable when he smiled at her as if they were close friends. Honestly, Joonmyun found her as a mystery and he was determined to know her better but she kept avoiding his gaze and she didn't even bother to return his smile, making things hard for him. He fell for her smile that she rarely showed in front of him. She was always smiling with Luna but she blocked him off completely. One day he had enough and he confronted her. He said "I don't know whether you hate me or you're just like that but I WILL make you like me. One day, you'll be mine."

 

Hwa Yeon realized that her cold act had affected him when she knew that he was just trying to be nice to her. Yes, she was a little weirded out by the undirect confession but she ignored it. She tried to be friends with him and returned his smiles. But talking to him was hard. He was always thoughtful and tried to make space for her to talk more but she was uncomfortable talking a lot to new friends. They ended up having awkward conversations all the time. But they had something in common and that is that they both were not very confident at joining the school at first. Through this common trait, they got to talk a little more and they started opening up more and more to each other. By the 2nd month, they were able to joke comfortably with each other and whenever Hwa Yeon needed advice about her studies and how to deal with haters, she would go to Joonmyeon. Hwa Yeon realized that she had fallen for him too and they started dating during the 4th month. Obviously it was Joonmyeon that confessed first.

relationship: They are very casual around each other and they are not afraid to embarass themself in front of each other. They are comfortable with each other's flaws and they accept each other as it is.They do a lot of skinship though and they think that it is rather normal. They will be dating.

request(s): Joonmyun was trying to learn how to play the piano but he didn't want Hwa Yeon to help him. He said that he needed to keep his pride. He failed miserably. Hwa Yeon started giving him handouts, teaching him which note is which. But Joonmyun knew nothing about who was giving him the handouts. Hwa Yeon just slipped them in his bag when he wasn't looking.
