others. she only has her ears pierced; you'll often find her wearing her favorite pair of earrings — she'll wear it even if it doesn't go with her outfit for one of two reasons: 1) she likes them that much and 2) sehun got them for her birthday actually, and if he catches her without them, then she "won't be getting any more birthday presents ever again!".

background.

→ hyunjoo was born in korea. however, her parents moved back shortly after her birth in order to allow her primary education to begin fundamentally in the states, for they believed that the usa could provide a more open-ended learning experience for hyunjoo. the go family members were essentially very well kept together, with the hard-working father, the loving mother, and the prospering daughter. even though hyunjoo was not particularly a good student, her parents were always fond of her bright characterisitcs and positive outlook. the three-person household resided in tampa, florida; tampa is where a close friend of hyunjoo's father lives. the man, known commonly as eugene oh, went to high school with hyunjoo's father; he currently works as a real-estate agent and was kind enough to rent out a nice townhome to the go family during their long-term stay in the states.

→ throughout hyunjoo's adolescence and pre-teen years, however, the go family struggled immensely with financial instability. her parents were immigrants and their florida neighborhood were still not yet accustomed to their oriental background; due to prejudice and obvious signs of xenophobia, hyunjoo was often picked on in school, and the only work her parents could get was working the kitchens of low-key diners as cleaners and janitors. though it managed to put clothes on hyunjoo's back and food on her plate, she is still tainted with the image and reality of middle-class struggle; the only positive outcome of said hardship is that hyunjoo's parents had successfully taught hyunjoo, through this series of difficulties, that she should always appreciate what she has and to always be frugal with her own wealth. it is because of her prejudiced experience and her money struggle that hyunjoo was able to grow up with such a strong sense of loyalty and diligence.

→ figuring they would thrive further in korea, her parents and hyunjoo are once again back in hometown seoul. though hyunjoo is still a little behind in her studies because of the transfer, her parents are doing substantially better in their quaint neighborhood, working now as laundromat owners. though it's still classified as a lower-middle class job, hyunjoo and her parents have learned to deal; after all, they are a tight-knit family of fighters. with each other, as they have learned, they can get through anything.

personality.

→ hyunjoo is a typically cheerful and rather comedic character. she is considered a poor student because of her contemptuous disdain towards studying, as well as her habit of falling asleep in class. however, there are some perks to hyunjoo! she exhibits a strong attachment to her close friends and family, oh sehun especially. hanging out with hyunjoo will mostly consist of your laughing at her, much rather than with her. she's good-natured, and tries to be as friendly as possible, albeit being rather clumsy whilst trying to do so. and although hyunjoo may be one of the brightest tulips in a meadow field, she's not the brightest light bulb in the classroom — if you catch my drift.

→ in terms of loyalty, hyunjoo excels fairly in that feat. she knows how to keep her promises and many depend on her for that  even though it's mainly because she tends to forget what promise she's actually keeping and there would be no worry in word getting out after about two day's time. but hey! people can be forgetful! though despite her humorous and light-hearted behavior, she is often looked down upon; she has earned herself the nickname snail, coined by her very own classmates. however, to contrast the nasty jeer, hyunjoo may be slow in terms of learning and common sense, but she's pretty persistent. just like a snail, she won't stop until she reaches the end, no matter what pace she's set at.

→ it's what you guys call derpy — yeah, that's what hyunjoo is. if she's not tripping over her own shoelaces, she's probably tripping over air. if she's not being caught in public scratching her , she's probably being caught picking – or scratching, she calls it – her nose. onew conditions? more like hyunjoo condition. honestly, she's pretty embarassing to be with, and she can be an awkward ball of derp, but she is endearing. you will feel a sense of responsibility over her, just as if you were like an elder sibiling looking out for their toddler sister. all in all, hyunjoo means well and has the intention of bringing others pure happiness and contentment, even if it involves stumbling over a chair or face-planting into the ground a couple of times to get there.

persona. choding. kinda like an anime character

trivia.

→ hyunjoo has a thing for corny jokes
→ favorite animal: elephants
→ she can't swim
→ hyunjoo can cook, as learned from her mother
→ she believes in the traditional role of korean woman
→ sehun is the son of eugene oh, meaning they lived in the same tampa neighborhood when they were children; sehun will be studying in korea for univeristy, and same goes for hyunjoo
→ enjoys reading romantic novels; it's a guilty pleasure
→ she's a hopeless romantic that dreams about long walks on the beach with her prince
→ skinshp is a must with hyunjoo
→ ideal type? oh, bi rain. although a song joonki might not hurt either

family.

→ go seunghoon, sean go | fifty two | laundromat owner | father | good-natured, humorous, witty, "a people's man"

→ go hana | forty eight | laundromat co-owner | mother | reliable, endearing, sweet, dependable

friends.

→ oh sehun | nineteen | sehun and hyunjoo grew up as neighbors, so it was a given they would befriend one another and become the best of friends. over the years, sehun has adopted a father sense of affection over hyunjoo despite the fact that he is only older by a few months; it because hyunjoo does act like a reckless little sister, whatnot with her childish and immature antics. they playfully bicker and even though it consists mainly of sehun scolding hyunjoo, it's only normal; it's rarer to see them awkward or quiet around each other than to see them shoving each other into the pool or shrieking nonsense at the other — they're a beautiful case, seriously.

→ do kyungsoo | twenty | though they met each other through work, kyungsoo and hyunjoo are very friendly with each other. kyungsoo's motherly instincts and hyunjoo's natural child's appeal is what connects them so well. working in the hotel is most probably one of the hardest occupations in the resort, so the pair often share their troubles or thoughts with one another because they trust each other that much.

→ kim jongin | nineteen | they're sehun's mutual friends, so their acquaintance is inevitable. the two don't interact often and are quite awkward, though it wouldn't be peculiar of one or the either to exchange a friendly hello here or there around the resort, or at school once the term starts. sehun chooses to hang out with the two separately so it's never a trouble for them to deal with the awkwardness; though it isn't a queer fact that both jongin and hyunjoo would like to grow fond of each other, for the sake of sehun.

rivals.

→ lee hayi | seventeen | resort customer, student | lee hayi is a regular high school student. one glance at her and nothing would deem her outstanding or extraordinary. however, there is one internal feat that would immediately strike her as bizarre — her undying, unrequited love for oh sehun. one glance and her heart is sent into a volcanic eruption. but of course lee hayi thinks go hyunjoo has a thing with her oppar (but seriously, who wouldn't?). cue the rivalry and jealous steams.

why do you want to work at the Paradise Resort?

→ i thought it would be a great experience; not in terms of work, but also in terms of being an independent person. plus my family could really use the money during the summer season, seeing as how not many people care to visit the laundromat during the times of vacation!

which section of the resort do you want to work in and why?

→ though my main aim is to land a job in the hotel, it would still be okay if i could at least be hired for a position at the theme park. since i'm not a very strong swimmer, i don't think i would be of much use to the pool or water park, so the hotel and theme park appealed most to me. utlimately, though, i just like to help people. my dad always has been a people's man, and i guess i just inherited his genes into becoming a people's pleaser! the hotel seems very cozy, and it overall just radiates a very comfortable atmosphere to work in; the theme park seems a lot of fun too, and though i wish i could apply for all four sections, i'd rather apply for a section i know i'd be most useful in!

what job positions interest you?

→ i'm applying to be the hotel's front desk clerk and housekeeper, as well as the on location restuarant's hostess. in case there's no room, i am also happily willing to work for the theme park's guest services; being a flexible cashier and ride operators are also positions i am willing to fill.

what is your specialty?

→ i'm very strong in getting work done. i'm a very persistent person and i will make sure my task is fulfilled no matter what! you won't ever have to tell me to do something twice! everyday to work, i will promise to bring my best smile and my absolute hardest work. the place is kind of new so i wish to gorw up alongside the resort as well. and i can promise you that if i am offered the opportunity to become a part of this team, i will not ever diappoint you, because after all, i am a people's pleaser!

what kind of people do you work the best with? the worst with?

→ patient people! i like them the best, next to friendly and open-minded people. i want to work with people i can interact with and bond with. i think the worst kinds of workers are those that don't appreciate the fact that they landed a position. i want someone who is motivated and excited to work; that way, they can influence me to feel the same. boring and dull people aren't really the kind i get along with — although i shouldn't be worried, since i don't find that you would like to hire those kinds of people anyways!

love interest. huang zitao

job position. lifeguard

history. starting off as complete strangers, hyunjoo is actually surprised she ended up falling for a guy like zitao. at first glance, zitao was trepidating. she wasn't too fond of his dark eye bags, nor was she too keen on the permanent glare they set with each glance. they never really interacted; not so much as a nod of acknowledgement even, and zitao began to think the new girl was a tad rude for not greeting a senior. a chance meeting, however, at the water park changed that impression. running an errand, hyunjoo was too distracted to watch where she was going and accidentally slipped on an ice-cream cone another kid had previously spilt. hyunjoo had happened to step on the pointed end of the cone, and in pain, grasped her foot tightly. while she was examining for possible injuries, she lost her balance and toppled backwards into the open pool.

let's just say that one too many romance novels and hyunjoo was somewhat captivated by the shirtless hunk bringing her back to the pool edge. because hey, when you've got a body that feels like a furnace in contrast to the ice cold water, it just might appeal to a traumatized drown-victim. even though she might not ever admit it, that six-pack really does work for him too. plus, he seemed genuinely concerned and that helped alleviate the scary title off of his misleading apperance; hyunjoo's incessant words of apologies and gratitude, as well, helped ameliorate zitao's impression on the poor girl.

relationship. for now, they're just co-workers at the best; and at the very least, hyunjoo was still that one drown victim that zitao happened to save. and though, zitao won't admit it, he really does end up dining at the hotel/theme park a lot more to catch secret glimpses of hyunjoo working. hyunjoo is oblivious of course and will now actually greet zitao when she sees him; she's still adamant in trying to convince him that she owes him something, as well. zitao would love to take up her offer on that, really, but he's not entirely sure how she would feel about owning it up to him by going out for a stroll on the beach together to talk.

backup love interest. oh sehun

requests. if it's not too much to ask, could they be so awkward that you end up curling your toes whenever you write/read about them? i like cliche sorry not sorry ouo. for now, i only have on scene request (it's in the scenario that hyunjoo does end up working at the hotel; might give you on what i mean by super awkward?)

so zitao's obviously been going to eat dinner more often at the hotel, rather than going to the theme park to just grab some late night snacks. hyunjoo begins to notice, and when she questions him about it, zitao has absolutely no idea what to tell her because seriously, how would hyunjoo react to the fact that he only comes to see her? so he ends up stumbling and stammering and ends up saying something among the lines of: "the hotel restuarant has very good meat. and i need meat.. because meat has protein.. and i am a lifeguard.. and lifeguards need protein.. yay protein"

i died just requesting that.

suggestions.

→ i don't know if this is already a part of the story or added in already, but since it's like a resort, you could add in more entertainment components in regards to workers, ie. themed nights. you could have a hawaiian theme one night and then do like a greek thing another night. it would add a lot of flair to the story, as well as a fun read in my opinion c:

questions. n/a

comments. im into cliche ouo so if it got too cheesy, just exclude it hur.

anything else? ( zitao is my spirit wolf )
