Height - 169
Weight - 56

Appearance - with a heart-shaped faced and shoulder-length brown hair, nayoung is the depiction of
a regal figure, poised and graceful. she has a birthmark on the back of her right ear that's not particularly
shaped to look like anything; just a little patch of discolored skin to remind her even princesses
can be imperfect. nayoung is neither tall nor short; just a bit more on the average side (and quite the flatter
side might i add); her weight correlates heathily to her height, as well, but porcelain skin and doe-like
eyes are her trademark look, dontcha think?

Colour + Style - nayoung typically dons a simplistic dress, soft in color and light on the frill. pastels and satin occupy
a majority of the space inside her closet, alongside slim bodices and floor-length gowns that accentuate nayoung's
ethereal appearance. most of her clothes are hand-me-downs from her elder sisters (a few from her mother), so they
are rather conservative; they fall to the floor (because curse the sinful displays of your ankles!) and aren't quite as big,
tailored rather trail behind her gait in a train of silk than weigh her down with oversized petticoats. nayoung is fond of her whites
and blush pinks, as well as her sleeved gowns (considering she can't quite hold up a strapless, whatnot with her lack of endowment).

Traits - poised, level, ethereal, intelligent, serene | placid, nonchalant, banal, introverted, weak-willed, softspoken

Personality -
⇒to put it simply, nayoung is rather tame. she is a relatively timid character who finds difficulty
in making friends, and naturally prefers to spend time alone studying and reading books in lieu
of being with her sisters or classmates. in return, nayoun'gs image becomes negatively annotated;
her bitterly offended classmates misconstrued by her solitude are under the misconception
that nayoung is snobby and arrogant because of her heightened intelligence. in addition, it
doesn't seem to necessarily alleviate her classmates' criticisms on her as nayoung continues
to uphold her poised demeanor; her poise and grace is so well-practiced and maintained
that, albeit rather ethereal in appearance, it is mistaken for haughtiness and vanity. so coupled
with her scholarly background and ornamented mannerisms, nayoung falls victim to criticism.
some have even extended the tall tales into accusing her of witchcraft, as she is consistently
finishing at the top percentile during exam season.

⇒however, nayoung is rather kind — gentle, even. she is another sweet and loyal girl
who is slightly insecure, often relying on the opinons of her mother, sisters, and
teachers. she lacks the strength and confidence that an ideal ruler should have, although
she is the most sensible out of her siblings (and she hopes that can make up for it). her
level-headed and serene personality allows her to act as the middleman, often settling
disputes between her sisters, townspeople, even her parents. nayoung dislikes fights,
especially the ones between her father and his chief advisor over the matters regarding
her education. so therefore in nayoung's sheltered disposition, she has been led to believe
that a lack of social interaction will help prevent unnecessary arguments and fights.

⇒introverted and insecure, princess nayoung is soft spoken, hardly ever feeling the
need to raise her voice; rarely ever feels the need to use her voice unless she is
spoken to first. on top of the kindness and sweetness, there are layers and layers
of a depicted nonchalance that radiates from her neutral expression and murmuring
voice. those who are kind enough to spare nayoung the "vain witchcraft" bs aren't
quite kind enough as to not at least spare her their impression of her being placid.
the quiet demeanor that her character delivers leads those who come into contact
with nayoung to believe she is banal, a commonplace character who is dull and un-
appealing; this is most likely to be instigated by the fact that nayoung will hardly speak
more than a word or two or three or so amidst conversation. either that or that fact
that she will shy herself away from conversation all together, or people in general
— or both.

⇒finally, nayoung just isn't the type to speak against the criticism — as if she is
even knowledgeable of them to begin with, whatnot with her being cooped up in her
study all day and night. she's particularly weak-willed, conditioned to play the traditional
submissive role of the female in the middle ages, as taught to her by mother and father: do not speak
unless you are spoken to first; do not argue or raise thy voice, for it is unlady-like and crude;
do what you are told, as disobedience is not an attribute to which a ruler is associated with;
and so forth. in summation, you could say nayoung would be that mysterious anime character
who would silently take her seat by the anime window and watch life go by, despite there
being more lively activities to be engaging herself in; a character that closely resembles a box
of chocolates — for you never know what you gonna get till you open it up.

Kingdom -
sapientia is an opulent kingdom located amidst a mountainous terrain; strategically established
at the surface of a harboring lakeside, the kingdom of sapientia is a fertile land, blossoming with a jubilant
array of flowery meadows and striving with towering evergreen pines. although the lands are rich and the abundance
of plant life allows for crisp air however, sapientia is more highly-renowned for its descendants of scholarly families
of royalty and nobility alike. sapientia is resided by sage-like prophets and philosopher-thinkers, inhabited
by mathematicians, scientists, and literary authors — and the latin definition of sapientia isn't wisdom for no reason.
the capital, agnitio (latin for knowledge), is home to the royal shin family's palace; it is a bright city flocking
with intellegentsia, namely recognized for their production of encyclopedias, dictionaries, and reference theses.

Background -
⇒born on a warm summer's day, nayoung was born to shin namkyu and wife shin hana
as the youngest daughter to the shin dynasty (at least for a good solid four years until
norae was born). the first four years was the easiest for nayoung; she was delicately
bathed by their family's best maids, fed by their family's best chefs, cared for by their
family's best butlers; nayoung, just as equally as her elder sisters, was adorned with
lavish privileges. however, as eldest sister naeun was appointed by her father to pursue
a homemaking lifestyle and as second eldest sister namjoo was appointed to lead a life
devoted to music, nayoung was set for a scholarly upbringing ("the minute i saw how
massive your noggin was, i knew you could retain a lot of my knowledge for me,"
namkyu continues to tell her). and norae follows as a disciple of the literary arts.

⇒most of nayoung's adolescence was spent in her father's study at the company of
a private mathematics and sciences tutor; her parents disregarded the suggestions
of sending her to a prepatory school, and allowed whom they deemed the best
scholar (still beneath namkyu) in all of sapientia to educate their bright nayoung.
nayoung was contemplative of whether or not she enjoyed the studious lifestyle
at first, but she was conditioned; conditioned to like, to love, to make it a part of
her life. her father tested her, evaluated her regularly, proud of his upbringing and wanting
more to boast about at the dinner table during their nightly festivities, gloat to the
listening ears that burn with jealousy for not having such prosperous results as he —
after all, in traditional, old-fashioned sapientia, women are to be submissive to men;
however having been blessed with four daughters and having such
diligent behavior exude from each, it seems namkyu is setting a new trend for the female
populace. and so he continued, taking particular pride in nayoung, whom he
deemed was valuable for the knowledge and wisdom he has handed down to her,
priceless for the theses and references and laws she has studied to know by heart.

⇒so she was granted with leniency in her pre-teenage to teenage years, her
parents under the impression that outside stimuli would help encourage nayoung
to explore, to ponder, to think. however, rather than utilizing her privileges to her
heart's content, nayoung continued to study and read, eventually choosing the
company of her textbooks and scrolls over the company of people. her sisters
figured she might be brainwashed by an abundance in voltaire's reading, but then
again nayoung figured she might as well continue to do what she likes — what
she is proud of; though it seems she dismisses the consequences in her social
life that comes along with it.

⇒and this is how she gets here to princess towers; her mother fretted
first over the fact that her second youngest had no interest in the opposite ,
seeing that her dear nayoung found more enjoyment in reading plat than
reciprocating the advances of the young bachelors that had traveled far and long
to sapientia to meet the shin daughters in search of a potential partner. then her
father took notice; and the parents' joint meeting resulted in sending their
daughter to princess towers, where they thought that maybe being around kids
her own age would bring her out of her shell. they told her it'd help educate
her in terms of etiquette but they were all more than knowledgeable of namkyu
being more than just a stickler for that anyways, so what? she wanted to
question, but that's brash, so nayoung takes it; and that's how she gets here
to princess towers.

Family + Friends -
⇒shin namkyu | father | jinhyuk is a very pragmatic man, an adherent advocate of
the intellegentsia class; he values strategy and education over wartime efforts, and
is therefore one of the most respected and recognized scholars around sapientia.
jinhyuk may have austere regulations regarding etiquette and behavior, but he
is a loving man that adores his girls, though it may be hard to decipher
beneath his tall stature, strong timbre,  and stoic expression.

⇒shin hana | mother | sukyung is warm, tender, and affectionate towards all.
whether it be towards the commoners sweeping the bazaar streets, or today's
maid assigned to tighten her corset, sukyung is a motherly figure to anyone
who comes across her, a guardian angel that comes in the form of a queen
to a scholarly peoples. adorned with charismatic smiles and a lilt to her melodic
voice, sukyung is widely recognized as the kingdom's mother.

Love Interest - kim kai jongin
Birthday - january fourteenth

Personality -
⇒on the surface, jongin is a devoted prince, dedicated to his studies and royal duties;
he is naturally timid, innately quiet. in addition, he consumes a large portion of his
time tending to his ill mother's medicinal and recuperation needs, so coupled with his
taciturn demeanor, jongin has been dubbed the ice prince (though it's simply a name
assigned to him by the adolescents in the village who have had the chance to stumble
across him; the elders are far more mature have more respect for his regal demeanor). and
it is quite interesting for jongin to learn of said nickname because well
— they live no-
where near the glacial gardens; and being near the ocean lends the land to tropical climate
almost always so how is ice even applicable here?
however the misconception is that because
jongin is a reserved man, he is also a cold man — and pardon, but that is far from the truth. his
blank expression is not of rigidity or arrogance; he is simply shy, not knowing what
is exactly the complete right or wrong thing to say.

⇒but kai. kai is another man, the alter ego of the man jongin can never be. kai is
the hidden strong-willed fighter jongin must suppress in order to fulfill his title as
heir to adamo. kai is a free-spirit, a teenage boy enamored by rebellion, capricious
laughter, and whimsical festivities. kai is a dancer, a humorous young man with a
benign jubilance that can radiate elation through his audience across six thousand acres.
kai lets jongin release his inhibitions, forget his regal tasks and allows him to live.
kai is the jongin that people need to be cognizant of, a true young man with passion
and determination, with expression. but alas, royalty is a highly-reputed delegation,
and such pesantry activities — well they aren't befitting to a prince. so jongin continues
to live as kai, wandering and meandering the village bazaars, occassionally
setting up camp to display his variant showcases of contemporary jazz and
ballet. he's popular amongst the village peoples and open with his identity
as kai, but it is still striking to him because how do they not know?

⇒whilst jongin is viewed as an uncommunative prince who lives for nothing
else but his father's orders and royal politics, he is playful smirks and
charismatic wit, a true performer in the element of spontaneous whim. although
as a performer, he is free of inhibitions, jongin also values his father's opinions,
and is smart enough to live up to his princely duties in academics and diplomatic
relations. two personalities, one fact, one person. how long can he go on?

Kingdom -
adamo | deriving from the latin root for to fall in love, adamo is located atop a prodigious
hillside located near the mouth of the ocean, bordering the carus sea in robust marble architecture.
adamo has been dubbed the kingdom of peace. for they are cardinally isolated by impenetrable
oceanic waters and a barren array of sand-land, the people of adamo rely heavily on the company
of local townsmen and residents, having little to no foreign interaction outside of adamo. their geo-
graphic isolation also lends the kingdom to benevolence and freedom from wartime efforts. the air is
crisp and the environment particularly cool, the climate often reflecting itself in adamo's composed
and amicable populace. whilst avoiding wars and invasions, in addition, adamo is namely recognized
for the prosperous fish markets and harbor ports popular for shipbuilding regards.

Background -
jongin was a pleasant surprise, during pre- and post- natal situations;
the kims weren't expecting another child, nevertheless - finally - a boy,
especially since they have two elder daughters already, a boy was a joy!
the loving parents were ecstatic for an heir, bustling to and fro in order to
replace the pinks and frills with royal blues and metal plates; he grew up well,
jongin did. he was adored by his elders, particularly his sisters jooyeon and
junghwa. jongin was the golden child destined to carry forth the kim legacy
in the kingdom of adamo; he was educated by pristine tutors, taught the elaborate
functions of knightly swordsmanship, and coached austerely for etiquette.

but jongin grew bored of his prosaic lifestyle; wake at seven, attend his royal etiquette
classes, study law and read judiciary reports, tend to his mother's chambers to care
for her while jooyeon and junghwa are occupied with their lessons; proceed the next
hour with reading to his mother, feeding her, wiping her forehead; wait for his father
to return from his routinely morning hunt, and continue so forth with his lessons in
economics, mathematics, nd then science respectively; royal fitting, and heck! he just
cannot with it anymore; so he confided with jooyeon and she felt a light bulb go off.
"jongin, do you like music?" "how do you feel?" "dance with me, i'll teach you to waltz!"

and kai was born; something about the exhilarating rush of adrenaline that
courses his veins gets him moving; something about bending, never breaking;
something that encompasses his heart when he moves in time to the rhythmic
sway; albeit rather clumsily, dancing was wholly accepted by jongin at first attempt.
jongin's alter ego is no secret to jooyeon or junghwa, or even his closer selection
of friends; even his mother has his suspicions about his "nightly walks around the bazaar",
but shall his father (whom is quite traditional and is adherent of the old-fashioned role
of the superior male populace), jongin fears he might be forced to stop; so his dancing
festivities is still kept on the DL around his father.

and fate somehow works on his side; just reaching the epitome of his teenage
years, jongin is granted with information that his parents have submitted
an application to send him to the prince towers; his parents feel that his caring
for his ill mother so often is posing a distraction, for he could be using those precious
hours studying to be the ultimate ruler of adamo; jongin was flabbergasted at
this news initially, wondering how his own mother could ever be dubbed as an
obstacle in his own personal gain. but exposed to the environment, he wishes his
mother the best, obeys his father, and thanks them both because now he
might not have to use the "nightly walk around the bazaar" as an excuse anymore.

Relationship -
put two silent characters together and what do you get? more silence. jongin
was already iffy about the prince towers to begin with, but to pair up with a princess
attending the princess towers had his skin crawling because oh god he doesn't know how to girl.
it starts awkwardly to put it euphemistically, with a "hi" and a quaint "hello."
but then jongin remembers jooyeon telling him he needs to loosen up and make
friends or else he'll regret living life without having shared his happiness with others, and that jolts him to
ask, "i noticed you carrying in a thesis written by rousseau; are you an avid reader of his?" and jongin
will never forget the spark in nayong's eyes as she discussed her views on voltaire, and rousseau,
and montesquieu, and so forth. jongin found it humorous at first, but then the humor
progressed into admiration for her dedication and devotion to studying; and then he thought of himself,
seeing a little bit of himself in nayoung.

jongin wishes he could open up nayoung more, the kai in him slowly unveiling
himself the longer he continues to stay at the prince towers; he wants to learn from her,
share ideas and finally have a friend that's not his sister or  a prince that's far too concerned
over how shiny he can polish his sword's blade. so whilst trying to get nayoung to
open up, his doing so results in his own blossoming. he opens up, hoping for her to reciprocate;
he will joke with her, give her playful nicknames and ask her probing questions
about her scholarly profession, along with an extra attempt to get her to consent to his
waltz lessons. and their relationship typically consists of a sweet jongin and a reclusive
nayoung wondering when and why jongin has started smiling so often. at least for now.

Back-Up - princess awkward

Why - the characters i usually apply as are on the opposite ends of two broad spectrums — they're either hecka snobby and perf and rich and
hashtag rude; or they're introverted nerds with an evident lack of social interaction. whilst nayoung leans more towards the
latter archetype, i wanted to broaden my horizons and see if i could make an elegant nerd (oh the horrific irony). i was
actually inspired by spencer reid from criminal minds, and tom hansen in five-hundred days of summer, and i will stop talking now.

Comments / Suggestions -
the first time i saw this, i immediately thought of barbie's princess and the pauper,
and it's like tacky but it used to be my fave movie ever (kinda still is); and i thought that their soundtrack
could really help you out but yeah i just omfg ok awk bye. my fave track is free but to be a princess
might really help you idk just trying to suggest ok i'll stop.

Scene Request(s) -
she finds him dancing and when questioned, she wonders,
"why is it so shameful to find something you are passion-
ate about?" and it's then that jongin wonders the same.
"a prince isn't made to be a dancer," he recites, noting
what he has compelled his heart to remember; nayoung
smiles wittily, a fragment whisper of her lips. "and neither
is a princess made to be a scholar, is she?"

and... cut! i'm not creative sorry.
