xxxxxxxx BACKGROUND:

Xiao Bei comes from Beijing, China and her family are not really well off. Her Dad rarely comes home while her Mom has to do all the work in order to feed Xiao Bei and her 5 other siblings. Xiao Bei would always put her younger siblings first before herself. She is sometimes stressed out by this and the only way to ease through the pain is by dancing. She joined her school's dance team and from there she develops her passion for dancing and she found out that she is actually talented in dancing. When her Dad decided to file a divorce on Xiao Bei's Mom, she was very surprised but her Mom was as calm as ever. She said that she has been handling the children on her own, she can keep doing so. To Xiao Bei, her Mom is her idol because her Mom never complains about anything and that she is always there for her children or sometimes, Xiao Bei would step in to take her role as the oldest child in the family.

Her Mom's work require them to move to South Korea, and there Xiao Bei did not stop dancing. When she was enrolled into her new school, despite her broken Korean, she auditioned for the dance club which is one of the most popular club in her new school. Xiao Bei, being a half Korean half Chinese attracted many attention from the students and the dance teacher no doubt. She is recruited into the team right away and they would all train together. In Seoul, the people accepted her for her talents and not from her family background. She is really thankful that the people in her new school are kind enough to receive a stranger. Her Mom's job got better and together with Xiao Bei's little allowances and prize money from joining dance competitions helped the family's finance and their life got better and better each day.

Hilarious, loves to cook, loves to eat, caring

"Puhahaha. Seriously, you're so funny." - Xiao Bei is the one you would go to when you want to hear a good joke. Being the eldest among 6 siblings, she always try to find things to make her happy and she learns to be happy and cheerful around her siblings to ensure them that nothing is wrong with the family and all is well. In front of others, Xiao Bei is funny and hilarious, but if you are thorough enough, you would know that she is actually very sad about their parents' divorce, but finally she takes it positively since their life becomes much better after moving to Seoul, and she makes hers and everyone's day with her funny Korean with Chinese slang.

"Bei, this is delicious!" - That is the constant praise she gets when she cooks for the members. At first, they had a rooster for the different duties around the dorm, but in the end, the cooking duty falls on her and her magnificent culinary skills. She can't beat no Iron Chef but she could outdo the other members when it comes to the kitchen. Being the eldest among 6 siblings, once again, she has to adapt to learning how to cook since their Mom is always busy with her work and the family still have young ones that needs the nutrients to grow up. So, Xiao Bei started from the very bottom and finally becomes a person who is able to cook a meal that would satisfy many.

"Yah, you sikshin!" - Being the one who is a good cook earns Xiao Bei a title of sikshin. She loves to eat even just a tiny bite to get the taste of the food. She would feel really satisfied if she could taste each and every food on the dining table if there is a buffet, but being an idol, she has to control her urge to stuff her face with all kinds of food. Tiny amounts from each dish would do the trick and she doesn't mind since she has been sharing food with her siblings back then in Beijing and she would never forget that kind of hardship. Even the members sometimes would always ask her to accompany them when they found a good place to eat and let Xiao Bei decide if she likes it or not.

"You're too nice for your own good, Bei." - She has always been the person who cares about others too much and that she even nags on people sometimes. It's just in her genes to take care of others. With her family background, this trait continued on even after moving to Seoul. But, this is why people loves Xiao Bei so much. Her caring character wins the heart of most of the people around her, but not as much as her cooking would! Okay, no, she's just a caring soul who acts like someone's mother sometimes.

xxxxxxxx IN GROUP PERSONA: The Pun Queen. Although her Korean is not that perfect, but she is really good with cracking up jokes. Be it at a concert, or at an interview, the members could be seen cracking up when Xiao Bei says something. Even the media likes her for her pun ability. And she is always invited to join variety shows because she could even crack up jokes when she dances, but not when they're performing.

Cares too much, laughs too much

"Stop nagging, Bei, stop." - Yeah, as the motherly figure in the group, she takes it all too seriously sometimes. Being the one who faced so much hardships, she would always want to make sure that other people doesn't suffer like her, especially when it comes to food. She would never miss a meal and she expects all eh member to be present to eat a complete four square meal. People used to take advantage of her caring attitude that it sometimes hurt her.

"So un-ladylike." - It's because of her hilarious trait that even she herself like to laugh. It was originally a facade to hide her loneliness, but the trait is stuck on her like a glue and now she could laugh sincerely. sometimes, too much though until some would critic her for being not lady like. She is maybe the motherly figure in her group, but sometimes, she laughs too much that people thinks that she is just faking it
