〈 f i r s t movement 〉

four personality traits: Insecure || Dishonest || Introvert || Intelligent || Independent
personality:

"Is this even enough?" - Her insecurity is probably one of her biggest flaw. Being the so-called prima dona, Hani would always compare what others have to what she has. To other people, she is the girl who comes from a well-to-do family, with a bright future ahead to take over the family business and all the richest one could ask for. But, no one actually knows her real secret and being the insecure person she is, she would never let others know about this spiteful truth, even if it means joining some silly orchestra her cousin had force her to join.

"Of course I could afford that. Heck, even a truck of 'em!" -  From where she currently resides in, to her clothing, her allowances and even her for shoes, it all had to come down to the worst and she would lie about them right away. She is quite dishonest when it comes to most of the things about her. This trait was not originally in her personality, but after her family's business went down the gutter with just the blink of an eye, she started to fake stories through in order to survive. Her cousin understand her very much and does not scolds Hani for being dishonest, but told her that honesty is always the best policy. Yet, Hani took and listened to none of it.

"I just need some time alone, that's all." - As an introvert, people thought that she can't socialize and all those things, but Hani actually enjoys being in the company of others. Yes, she has her worshippers who calls themselves 'Bees' and most of the time, when she wants to entertain herself, she would sometimes joins her worshippers at the lunch table or run together with them during Physical Ed. But, after that, she would hide back into her shell and finds time to be alone and think things through all by herself. She feels energized if she has enough alone time because being with other people just consumes the energy out of her!

"3.98?! Ugh, I hate myself" - That's the word of an over-achieving Hani when she received her pointer. Well, you can say that this girl is actually a beauty with brain since she is quite well-known for her outstanding results and her mesmerizing beauty, what is there left to be hated about this girl? She doesn't consider herself as the teachers, or in this case, a lecturer's pet since she doesn't stick to her lecturer before classes and after classes just to kiss their . Na-ah, this girl does it with pure effort. And those who actually knew her, respects her very much for her hard work.

"You don't have to help me. I can manage." - All in all, Hani is an independent girl who doesn't want to burden anyone for the trouble she or her family has caused. When their business went down, her cousin and her family were there to lend her a hand and Hani really dislike the fact that they had to depend on other people. She is undeniably an egoist who takes pride in whatever she does, thus leading to her independent trait. Hani has been an independent child since she was young and she would always try not to create any problems for her parents.

〈 da c a p o 〉

background:

Basically, Hani and her parents lived in Seoul since Hani has ever remembered. The mansion they own seems too big for Hani sometimes, but she enjoys the fact that she doesn't have to share it with any other siblings. Yeah, she's cruel like that and greedy too. Her father owns a company which deals with textile. Hani is well aware of her father's business and her mother even told her some day, the business would be passed along to her. Hani liked the fact that it would be hers and hers alone, and she promised to herself to study diligently to make sure that the business would expand; worldwide even.

But, Hani has also grown to love music. Her father and mother both supported her interest and decided to send her to a famous music academy. Her father is a workaholic man while her mother is a house wife. Together, you could actually imagine that they are a perfect family. Studies and music were both going well; she received great results, appointed as the best study of the year, play an important role as a flutist among the orchestra members in her school. Even she had a promising spot in the music college and the dream of continuing her father's business was slowly forgotten.

When she was about to begin a new semester in the branch of a wee-known music college which is in England, far away from home, she suddenly received a call to come back to South Korea. Her heart shattered into pieces as she found out that the house was confiscated and that her father's company plunging downwards into darkness. Her cousin's family had been there to help them settle the debt, and they were kind enough to take Hani's family in. Her father was in turmoil and later she found out that he was actually involved in a massive gambling; which included all of their property. Her parents fought, and her mother decided to end their marriage.

With her mother gone, not telling where she was headed to and her father; gone too, without a single notice, she was left under her cousin's family care. Being the independent girl she is, plus with an air of ego and the very last bit of her pride, Hani decided to move out from her cousin's house and find a house of her own. She then found a cheap enough house, situated on the rooftop, and decided that she would live there. Luckily for Hani, the allowances she received since she started going to the music academy were saved and she carefully handles and organize her life in her rooftop shrine.

relations:

Park Pilsoo | Father | 56 | Unemployed | Stubborn, workaholic, hot-tempered, forgetful | Since Hani was a child, her father is never really around the house except during meal time. He is a very busy man and Hani could rarely have the time to speak to him. But they do celebrate all the festivals together. Although there are time he would even forget her birthday (3/5)

Yoon Haera | Mother | 53 | Unknown | Loving, kind, patient, forgetful | Hani is quite close to her mother since her mother was always by her side until she was sent off to music academy. Her mother would sometimes visit her at school. But after her parents' divorce, Hani have not heard a single thing from her mother. (4/4)

Violist | Cousin | 23 | Sympathetic, observant, tender, sensitive | Of all the people who knows the real her, it's her cousin, the violist. They are close as childhood friends, but after Hani was sent away to the music academy (a boarding school) they drifted apart a little, but only to be close again when her family was indebted to her cousin's. (4/5)

Lee Taemin | Best friend | 20 | Narcissistic, funny, childish, playful | The cellist from her previous music academy and a course mate in her -supposedly- music and performing arts college. He is the one person who really knows the real her and he even surprised her by enrolling into the same college as her when his family shifted to South Korea (5/5)

Choi 'Sulli' Jinri | friends | 20 | Honest, naive, funny, shy | An oboist from the college she goes to in South Korea. Hani likes her for her innocence and kindness. Hani would always find comfort in her honest words and sometimes she envies SUlli for being able to be so honest about her self, especially her feelings which could be interpreted easily from facial expressions (4/5)

〈 polyphonic 〉

name: Huang 'Tao' ZiTao
his position in orchestra: Oboist
date of birth: 06/07/1993

personality: Tenacious || Protective || Calm || Reliable

"I won't back down." - Easier said, Tao is one hell of a stubborn and persistent person. He is also one to not give up on things that easily.

"Touch her, you'll pay." - Tao is a protective guy who feels the need to protect weaker people against bullies. He is good with the fist and before he became an oboist, people knew him as 'God's Right Hand'. Yeah, you don't wanna mess with him.

"Breathe, people, breathe." - He's actually a calm person. Tao is undeniably known as 'God's Right Hand', but not many knows that he is actually into music as much as he is into fighting. When he gets angry -which would be very difficult- and wants to punch something, Tao would grab his oboe and play any song that came to his mind, let it even be the 'Happy Birthday to You' song because eventually the soothing sound of the oboe could calm him

"You can count on me." - When someone gives him something to do, he'll get it done right away. When someone needs an ear to listen to their problem, he'll be all ears for him or her. In a word, people could trust or rely on Tao when it comes to him. He is as honest as a person could get, insensitive even.

relationship:

Hani, being the pampered girl she is could never actually get used to the new life that she has to adapt to. Even after a year living alone independently up the cobbled, crooked stairs to reach her house, Hani was visibly having the worst time of her life. She would stay over late at school just to have human company, telling people how things at her mansion  is too boring and she'd rather have fun with everyone at school.

But, words were passed among the grapevine and Hani would sometimes hear whispers behind her back. She is extremely afraid by the thought of people finding out the truth and how would they judge her. She even breaks down all of a sudden in her 'rooftop shrine' just thinking about the people's reaction to her not-so-perfect family anymore. But, moving on to how they first met; it was actually a late, windy night. As Hani shivered at the wind blowing pass her, she heard a few men were walking behind her and she breathed as slowly as possible to eavesdrop on their conversation.

Being loud, the humans they were, Hani could catch glimpses of what their conversation was about and where it was leading to. She quickened her steps as she heard 'missy', 'cutie', 'trophy', 'lottery'. Her pace of walking turned into a small jog as she tried to run away from whoever it was behind her. Hani thought that she was quick enough and that she passed them but surprisingly, one of them caught her long hair and pulled her back. She managed a scream but soon it was muffled by a pair of humongous, dirty hands and she was kicking and flailing her hands for help. Hani thought what a tragic way it was for her to end her life.

Suddenly, the strong grip of the man who trapped her to his body was loosened and Hani thanked to whatever God that was listening to her prayer. She looked back to see a guy about her age kicking and punching the thugs who were now attacking him together. Hani was rather surprised that one lanky guy could actually put 4 guys to the ground on his own. She was even more surprised as the said guy grabbed her hand and told her to run. With a pull, they were both running away from the thugs who were still lying on the ground. Breathless and knees getting weaker than a Jell-O, Hani plead for them to stop.

The guy kept their hands firm together as he asked her where her house was, she looked up and unconsciously she pointed her finger upwards, to her rooftop shrine. If the guy next to her was shocked by it, Hani would never notice since she was too breathless to say anything. He then dragged her along the stairs and they reached her house. She noticed that the stranger/saviour was still holding on to her hand and she blushed at the thought of it. It may sound a little childish even to her, but she thought he was her angel in disguise.

Without a single thanks, she dashed into her house and left the guy outside without a word. The guy then went off, and he was as shocked as she is with their own selves. The next day, after being dragged -plus going through threats after threats of revealing her little 'secret' to everyone- to the very first orchestra members' meeting of their college. The empty seat next to her was occupied by a stranger and she looked to her side to see the same blonde guy who saved her yesterday with an oboe case next to him on the floor.

She was shocked but the guy showed none of the emotions she was feeling at the moment. When the meeting was adjourned, she cornered him and tried to explain herself. He just looked at her and told her to calm down. Immediately, she clamped shut and he left her with a smirk. Tao already knew about her family since rumours were floating around. He just never thought it would be possible until last night. Slowly, the two of them got along better although at first Hani was keen on making him promise to keep her secret and Tao to keep ignoring Hani. Inevitably, Hani was a danger-magnet, and Tao was always there to save her. His protective side got the better of him and he felt responsible of keeping Hani safe.

Little did Tao know that their feeligns were actually mutual. It's as if he could understand her without having Hani to tell him a single thing. Gradually, they start falling for each other and Hani learned from Tao to stop caring what other people think of her because she is being herself and no one should judge her or her family for being who they are. All in all, her life gets much better after Tao saved her that night.

〈 f i n a l movement 〉

what is your position in the orchestra?: Flutist

why did you want to join?: I was actually forced by my cousin to join this. I mean, she was going to spill the beans about my family's debt, and I cannot let that happen. I repeat, CANNOT LET THAT HAPPEN. But to be honest, I do miss playing the flute. It reminds me so much of the good times me and my family used to have.

your performance is tomorrow! what will you do?: I would do what I always did while I was in the music academy. I would put on a mask before I go to sleep and listen to my favourite Swan Lake song and put it on replay. It really helps calm me down and I would wake up refreshed and happy the next day!

〈 e n c o r e 〉

questions/comments?: I'm really sorry if I overdid it at the relationship part and that I bore you to death. Please let me know if I should change anything. I'm open for any changes. I hope you'll like Hani. Glad that I'm finally done with this. Oh and I really love Nodame Cantabile. I actually cried watching it although it's funny most of the time ;) I'm really sorry. I just came up with another scene suggestion. It would be the fourth suggestion below.

scene suggestions?:

- A scene between Hani and her love interest when people actually found out about her little secret. Her Bees went against her and they attacked her when she passed by. Her love interest was there and he saw what was coming. He hurried towards her and took his coat off. He stood just a few inches in front of her and protected Hani from all the vicious eggs, flour and dirt attack while calling her foul names.

- When Taemin enrolled into the same college as her, the first thing they did was 'airplane hug' and imagine her love interest's fury when he saw them doing it. Hani likes this jealous side of him and even a little bit with Taemin's help. Later on, she reveals her best friend's identity and her love interest just huffs and puffs about it. Plus a little pout which made Hani blush at the cuteness.

- Hani almost burned her rooftop shrine if not for the reason Tao had been up there to tell her about the next orchestra meeting since Hani didn't attend school that day. Hani was actually sick and she was trying to make a porridge for herself when she accidentally snoozed off while waiting for her meal to cook.

- Hani's mother found her daughter again after two years of separation. She was there and Tao had been by her side all the time when her mother begged to meet her. Her mother told her that she went away to find work in order to settle their debt. Her mother was asking for Hani's forgiveness and if possible she would like to stay with her daughter. Hani had told her mother to give her sometime, and she vomited on Tao's favourite shirt before she starts crying in his arms (yeah, I know it's kindda disgusting. Sorry)
