In Hong Kong, the national language is Cantonese and English, Mandarin is taught in the schools as a required subject, making most everybody in Hong Kong At least Trilingual. Katie moved to Korea to start training about seven years ago. She is often talking in her first languages and studying her second and third and speaking in them so she doesn't forget them. She does often mix up languages though, occasionally forgetting a word. )

Personality: Katie has a very curious personality. She is always asking questions and looking for answers. She is definitely a realist, wanting to see for herself. Katie has a very warm aura about her, always trying to include those around her into what she is doing, but she lacks patiences. Katie is probably one of the most impacient people you will ever meet. Katie can be fairly awkward at times, not knowing what to do, so she'll just stand there and figure something out. Katie is a bit of perfectionist with herself and projects she is involved in. She will work to the point of exhaustion to achive what she wants, sickness, injuries, sleep, food, it can wait. Katie is often known for being fairly snarky with her comments. Katie, though fluent and well educated in Korean and the culture often plays the forienger card when it works for her. Katie is extremely intellegent when it comes to books and school and stuff like that, but when it comes to emotions she doesn't know how to deal with it, often just ignoring her own and pushing it down. She tends to disregard other's emotions, forgetting that she might be hurting somebodys' feelings. Katie veiws people as puzzles, a mystery waiting to be solved. And katie hates to leave things unfinished. She is a fantastic problem solver, and is fairly honest and blunt, not hesitating to call you out on something. She does clash with the leaders sometimes, with her headstrong personality. She can take control of a situation when needed and lead a team to success. Katie knows how to read people fairly well, and is fantastic at figiuring out what people want, though going through with it is another story. Katie has a bad temper when provoked. Katie isn't one who easily forgives and she has an extremely vengful nature. She is really bad with not letting go of things and she often gets rebuked for that. Katie is definitely not somebody to piss off. Her anger only really shows when she has been wronged or sees some sort of injustice. Otherwise she is indifferent most of the time.

Backround: Katie grew up a very high profile life, her mother being a famous model in both Taiwan and Hong Kong, while her father was a brilliant actor. Katie, the only child in her family, was far from spoiled. She was taught the value of the dollar and to earn what she wanted. When she was five, she started to make herself known in the entertainment community as a child star. Her first role was in the drama Dark Tales as a child who had supernatural abilities. She often made apperences on various variety shows with her father and by herself. In middle school, she took a break from it to focus on school. She enjoyed school, she liked learning new things. When she was 14, her father was cast in a role for the korean drama East of Eden. Her father requested that she take part in it as well, and she got the role portraying 10 year old Jihyun. Before official filming for the series started, Katie and her father were required to take Korean lessons to learn how to speak the language. When filming started, they were more or less converstationally fluent in the language. Though they both struggled a lot and relied mainly on their english to get through life in Korea. It was during her break from filming while she was watching her father when she was approached by an agent from SM Entertainment requesting she auditioned. Katie auditioned with encouragement from her family and made it in as an acting trainee. It wasn't long until she was recomended switching to an idol trainee by Han Geng. Trainee life was more or less difficult for Katie. Chinese trainees and the Korean trainees never really got along well, so Katie mainly stuck with the Chinese kids. Like the other chinese kids, she was alone in Korea. After filming finished for East of Eden, Katie's father went back to Hong Kong. Being still underage, she had to still attend school, and was enrolled into an international school due to her lack of knowlegde with Korean. It was tiring and Katie found it difficult at times. She did find enjoyment in working hard with her friends and seeing improvement. After seeing her friends debut, and she still hadn't. Katie became discouraged. She often thought about just quiting and going back home, She did quit right after Fx debuted because her spot was 'stolen'. She was suppose to debut with Fx until last minute changes occured. With that, she left and a Starship representive found her at a bus station. She auditioned and was accepted soon after. Training at Starship was much easier for Katie, she was use to the rigourus schedual from SM but this time she was well educated in Korean and could communicate with others well.

How you met: She actually met Henry through Han Geng. Han Geng is an older brother figure to most of the chinese trainees. He makes it so they feel welcomed and involved because he knows what its like. When he was checking up on how Katie was doing, he brought along Henry and introduced the two. They have become really good friends since then.

How you interact: Katie and Henry have a very fun and casual friendship, which has their friends and members constantly making remarks asking when they'll get together. Most of the time Henry and Katie will be talking in English or Cantonese, or maybe even mandarin. But mainly english. Katie likes to keep her relationship with Henry quite, and plans to keep it that way if anything does happen between them.

Trainee Life: Training at SM was hard for Katie, while training at Starship was a lot easier. It was only easier mainly because she already went through all the hardships with SM and was use to it by then. (Most of this is in the background part)
