HaNi is a the kind of girl who you would see her wearing dresses or outfits that would flaunt her beauty due to her Mom's daily lecture about her laziness in doing anything and everything and the shame she bring to her as an icon. Well, she has tonnes to choose from since her Mom is a famous designer. Accessories or handbags are not much to her liking since she is lazy to put them on and she would forget about them, but would do so after her Mom's constant nagging. When she attends for formal occasions with her Mom to accompany her during any business parties or red carpet events, she would wear dresses that would fit for the occasion and would opt for soft colours. When she is at home, HaNi goes all comfortable and laid back with her style and lets her hair down.

HaNi is downright lazy and is well-known as a potato couch either at home or at school. She would laze around at home during weekends, doing nothing much but sleep or watch TV or just surfing the Internet. Most of the things that she does at home must include sitting down and not making any effort. While at school, she would be the last to arrive, the last to send in her assignments, and the last who reach the finishing line when it comes to Physical Ed. Sometimes, she would even slack off and goes to the rooftop to doze off until P.E is done.
Although HaNi is lazy and doesn't move around much, she is undeniably a friendly girl. HaNi does not pick her friends and she chooses them based on their sincerity. There were many girls who pretended to be her friends just because of her money and her Mom's dresses that she would sometime give to a friend as a gift. After learning how her 'friends' actually act behind her back, she became really careful of choosing her friends without stopping being the friendly girl she is. She would still nod and say her normal "Hello"s and "Hi"s to them, but that just stops there.
Being the one and only child who grew up without a father, HaNi learns to have everything and everyone wrapped around her fingers. She would be childish when she is unhappy or when she wants something. Her Mom would always pamper her little daughter until HaNi becomes the lazy girl she is. When her Mom made her wear all those pretty dresses that is hard to fit in to, she would sulk like a child, and the sulking would go further when she is told to wear accessories and braid her hair. But, in the end, HaNi would give in to the mother who she grows up to love to and being the only person available to bother with her childishness since she was a baby.
Don't misunderstand this girl. Even if she is lazy, she is one smart student. Her Mom who prioritize academics makes sure that HaNi receives only the best when it comes to her education. And it seems that the only thing HaNi is not lazy of doing is studying. When there are quizzes or tests coming up at school, HaNi would study until late at night and score the best for herself. When it comes to exams, she would he holed up in her room, studying all day and all night long. Her Mom who instilled this in her sometimes do get worried about her daughter and would tell HaNi to go out and enjoy the sun. But, she would just shrug it off and goes back to studying.

HaNi basically grows up with only her Mom. Her Dad, like how her Mom would always say is a: pain in the neck who never wanted to marry her and just left her after she gave birth to HaNi. When HaNi learns the story from her Mom, she despise men and tries not to get close to any of them since she doesn't want the same thing to repeat to herself. HaNi floats and gloats in her Mom's love and affection for her. Her Mom is a fashion designer and when she has to travel, HaNi would always be her constant companion no matter where she goes. She likes seeing her Mom's determined face while she works and the satisfaction she would get from all the hard work she poured into her fashion shows. HaNi grows up to idolize her Mom and someday, she dreams to be like her Mom as well, successful with her own efforts.
Her Mom had been constantly traveling back and forth from South Korea to China and HaNi is very busy with her senior year so it's difficult for her to follow her Mom. Suddenly, one day after she came back from school, HaNi was greeted by a tall; good looking man, probably Chinese-American when she arrived at her home. Her Mom then took her to the living room with the Chinese-American man right by her side. Her world came to a stop when her Mom told her she finally found 'The One' and she would like to ask for HaNi's blessings. HaNi who is smart enough to think, went through things and thought that she had nothing to lose. This man seemed rich from his appearance and he looks kind enough not to hurt her Mom. Then, HaNi stopped analyzing the man and sighed, saying that she is lazy to think things through and says to the man that it is fine to be her Mom as long as he makes her smile.
With her blessings, the very next day, a huge moving lorry company was at the front gate of their apartment and there were men efficiently moving everything out, including her favourite painting she and her Mom purchased in France. She was very shocked and her Mom told her that they're moving. Her soon to be new Dad told her that it would be easier for them to buy a new house here than make HaNi and her Mom move all the way to China. She would just nod and goes up to her room to take a final look at their luxurious apartment. She would miss being in her old room with her four poster bed. She wonders what kind of house they would move in to since the man made them move from this luxurious apartment to somewhere new while looking out the window and seeing how happy her Mom is in the arms of the tall man.

perfection is overrated >
Her family is made up of HaNi and her Mom. They would be really close to each other since each other is the only thing they have. Her real dad's identity is unknown to her and she never asks her Mom about him. HaNi just learns to hate the man very very much. They moved from Busan to Seoul when HaNi was still a small girl and that was the time her Mom emerge as a promising young designer that would bring South Korean's name on her shoulder with pride. Her Mom is a Korean-Chinese who knows many language due to her work as a designer. She is quite a well-known figure as the years pass by and finally her Mom made it to the top, alongside with many other great designers.
Then, her little family expanded when her Mom decided to marry an American-Chinese who is widowed with a step-son in his care. His late wife was unable to conceive and so they opted for an adoption and the boy is named Huang ZiTao. The man and his son loves each other equally since he was a boy his wife named and he was the man who took him in when the people in his foster home abused him. The family came together and live in Seoul, South Korea in a new house which is closer to Tao's father's workplace and their new school.

Mother | Jo AhnNa | 43 | AhnNa is a gentle person who would never hurt even a fly if she could avoid it. Her gentle personality has won countless hearts of the men she met but sadly none were able to get through her concrete wall. Since HaNi's Dad left her for some other woman, she never hated anyone more than she could imagine but slowly her gentle heart forgives the man and she moved on, single-handedly raising her daughter. HaNi's mother is also a person who is strict when it comes to her daughter's education and when it comes to her work. She is the tough boss no one wants to mess with. Step father | Huang YaJun | A Chinese-American who has a strong sense of leadership. He is feared by his employees and this man is not to be mess with. HaNi's Mom fell in love with this man because of his authoritativeness when he works while outside work hours, he is a normal understanding man who would listen to your problems and gives you advices when you need any. He is also the kind of man who loves being around his family and he learns everything he could about HaNi before deciding to tie the knot with HaNi's Mom. Close friend | Lee YeJin (Ailee) | 19 | Ailee is the kind of cheerful girl who would make the people around her happy. You could call her the 'Happy Virus' perhaps, she doesn't mind as long as she's happy with it. Ailee is also very sincere when it comes to her feelings or when she offers to help others. She is also the kind of girl who could never put up with bullying and uses her authority as a Vice President in the Students' Counsel to punish the bullies and protect the victims. Huang ZiTao | 22 | ZiTao is the total opposite of HaNi. He is very hardworking when it comes to the things that he would have to do. When he is given something to work on, he would do it whole heartedly and not waste a single thing. He is always seen around the campus, working his assignment and helping the lecturers or the tutors. ZiTao is also a soft spoken person. He does not use rude words and is always polite most of the time. He could accept his new family since he knows how much Ms. Jo means to his father and they got to know each other earlier than HaNi gets to know him and his Dad. Not to mention, Tao is also an active person who likes to do sports most of his free time and would be elected as the captain of certain sports team and is very respected by his peers. HaNi first met Tao when she is supposed to pick him up after his lecture sessions end at the nearby university. At that time, Tao was playing basketball with his new friends and from far, he already knows what HaNi looks like since Ms. Jo would always show them the picture of his daughter. He was told that HaNi does not know who he is and she has never seen him before. He was already off early that morning before HaNi even made it to the bathroom and now she is responsible of bringing her brother whom she never met before home. While daydreaming of how her step-brother would look like, she didn't notice that she was closing in the area of the basketball court where she is supposed to meet Tao. She didn't notice that the ball was approaching her at a high speed and before she notice it, a hand grabbed her waist and she fell, hard, but not on her own back. A stranger was holding a ball and her while cringing at the pain he suffered. His first sentence was: 'Are you okay, HaNi?' and she was very surprised that this red haired stranger knows her and she quickly got up on her own. Embarrassed and puzzled at the same time, she asked who the stranger was while a friend of his came to help him up. He answer softly, almost whisper like: 'I'm Huang. Huang ZiTao.'
I wish this would last forever >
- When HaNi left Tao to find his way home on his own, she was surrounded by a few gangsters who probably wanted to kidnap her. Luckily Tao found her and fought with the gangsters. When they were all on the ground, Tao quickly grabbed her hand and they escaped together.
- During her Mom's and Step-Dad's marriage ceremony, HaNi would be the bride's maid and Tao is the best man. They would be requested to sing together as a duet and later on awkwardly dance together. HaNi was really not into dancing and she would purposely step on Tao's foot. Then, he would tell her that she and told her just to step on his shoes and he'll lead her. HaNi would be mesmerized by Tao's ability to order her around to do something and she complied, letting the older male lead her.
- When her newly wed parents went for a honeymoon, HaNi is left to live in the new house alone with Tao. She would be so afraid that she cried in her sleep thinking that there were ghosts hunting and coming to get her. Then, Tao would come in to her room and pacify her to sleep. Promising her with a joke that he would Wushu the ghosts away
