Another EXO fanfic (because I can xD)
I occupied the vacant seat at the back of the room, quietly watching the drama before me as Jong In was beside himself in panic. The teaser vid for the class musical was aired at the cafeteria during lunch break and everything just spiralled down from there.
The sight of his lips on another girl's cheek wreaked havoc that listless afternoon. Some of the girls were sobbing uncontrollably, eyes red and puffy, mumbling incoherent words while others had murder on their eyes as they threatened and cursed So Hee.
So Hee is a member of the drama club, chosen as the lead female in our musical; the girl Jong In kissed and the recipient of the fangirls' hate in school. Her locker, desk table and chairs and the drama club's room were vandalized before lunch was over.
Fortunately, there are still some who still had their brains intact, speaking on her behalf. The outspoken ones were kinda loud as well but it couldn't be helped. I doubt if I could hear my own thoughts amidst the cries and shouts.
The music committee was frantic and the director was about to lose his head. The musical scores were leaked to our rival school and someone had taken a video of the rehearsal. It was a mess.
Briefly, I wondered where the rest of the student body were or what they were doing. It is either they ignored the whole fiasco and went on with their lives or watched everything in silent amusement.
"What should I do?" he cried, as he ran his hand through his rumpled hair. "I am so sorry So Hee-sshi."
The meek girl offered him a small smile but said nothing.
I sighed. This was starting to sound like those fanfics I've read: Plain girl lands herself in an awkward yet intimate situation with popular guy and soon enough, the mean queenkas and their followers bully her.
But if this was indeed a fanfic and I am the writer, he would have been out there already, explaining to his hysterical fans that the half-second kiss was scripted and was a necessary part of the play. I am not sure if the scene was necessary though (I am neither the director nor the scriptwriter) but what's done was done. The fans overreacted when they could at least have the decency to not show the person they claim to care for, their selfishness and jealousy.
And I wouldn't be here, stuck inside the clinic with these two with a throbbing ankle, waiting for the school nurse, who is forever missing in action.
I kept my gaze away from them but the white walls, crisp sheets, stiff pillows and marble floors held nothing to keep me interested. I never liked the smell of disinfectant and the stifling atmosphere inside hospitals. And I'd rather sit on this plastic chair than find out what is in those sheets.
It didn't take long before I heard voices from outside. The nurse better be one of them, I grudgingly thought.
"Jong In."
Jong In cast a worried glance towards So Hee, a silent question in his eyes, asking if he should unlock the door or not. Silence passed for a few seconds before they both turned to me.
"You know them?" I asked, also unsure of what to do.
"Yeah," he replied but I sensed his reluctance.
"Your call." I'll just jump out the window if we get mobbed by his rabid fangirls.
With a deep breath, he turned the knob. The moment he opened the door, he staggered back, as a fist landed straight on his jaw.
So Hee screamed and I pushed myself to stand. Why did he open the freaking door?!
I grabbed the plastic chair and positioned it in front of me.
"You bastard! I warned you!" It was Lu Han.
The sound of flesh hitting flesh and So Hee's cries filled the room. I took a step forward, careful not to put too much weight on my left foot and swung the chair--
"I thought she would jump outside," A voice lazily said from behind.
"She changed her mind," I replied, closing my laptop, glaring at the intruder. A cut marred his flawless face but it would soon heal. It always did.
