Review: Battle of the Girl groups [May ver]

Before I start, I'll just say that I only focused on the main groups, which are; (Yes this will be quite long since I'm no expert)

4 Minute, Secret and T-ara N4.

So let's start! :D

--

4 Minute!

Style: It's really funky and I saw that patterned shirts were mainly the main point here. Really disliked Hyuna's fishnet stockings. It's so... out of place though it did make her a little more y. I personally loved one of the shoes that Jiyoon wore in one of the set! I recalled it was white and... that's all. The fashion styling overall wasn't my thing but I did saw a few pieces that Hyuna and Gayoon wore that I would like to have in my wardrobe. It's really pretty. (6/10)

Music: Repititive hook of "What's Your Name." As expected of the title song. I didn't really liked the song at first but I have to admit it grew on me, especially when it comes to the "mwoyeyo" part. I personally liked that part more than the hook but it seems the hook is called a hook for a reason. (7/10)

Video: Colorful, colorful video! I really liked how they seemed to transition from one set to the other smoothly. It was honestly quite random for me to see the zombies and to see them freaking out and being attacked... and the members weren't zombies at the end but the zombies danced LOL. That was interesting to see but I saw quite a few music videos outside of KPOP and in KPOP which used that but all's cool. I really find the video interesting overall. (8/10)

Other Points: Handsome Policeman with Gayoon in one of the sets, You.Are.Hot.

Secret!

Style: I honestly liked each and every piece that they wore! Seriously! Their casual clothes are casual... and it's of course something comfy to wear when it's Summer (it's like summer all year long where I come from) I really liked the blue dresses and white dresses that they wore. Especially the blue dress that Sunhwa has in one of her close-shots. I'm loving their wardrobe here. (10/10)

Music: I thought I wouldn't like it at first but I'm usually a er for cute songs. I found myself saying "Yoohoo" right after the first chorus ended so we can see where I'm going from here huh. Not being biased (or maybe I am), but since I'm a fan of Secret more than the other 2 groups, I really liked their song better. This song is another one of those songs that lives up to one of Secret's image (think Shy Boy for one and Madonna for the other) and I have no complains because I didn't really liked Poison/Talk That; thus this was a refreshing change. (8/10)

Video: My first thought was; oh my god! Non-sets music videos! (those aren't sets right?) I thought it reminded me of Sistar's Loving U at first but it was honestly different. I really liked the comedic effects they tried to put in as well like Hyosung taking off her shirt (lmao) and the scene at the end just cracked me up! I honestly think that's a good way to end the video. It gives a lasting impression on the viewers. One of their better videos after Poison. (9/10)

Other Points: The bird-flapping choreography in one of the shots! OMG I died. Spot out a few more comedic choreographies from their video. Honestly an interesting change!

T-ara N4!

Style: I'll admit. It reminded me of a SHINee+ SNSD style but hey, they don't own it. I personally loved some of the outfits that Hyomin was wearing at the start of the video. The half top and jacket was something I remembered (because Jessica has a similiar outfit in IGAB) but it was really pretty and it fits her nicely. Not digging what Jiyeon was wearing. Shorts + tights is a big no-no for me. Ahreum had pretty decent outfits at the end of the video which I really liked as well! (6/10)

Music: Really.... Really.... disliked the "Wae" part. It's kinda annoying to me but the rest of the song was dope. Yes I used dope. There are some parts which seems really familiar to some existing songs that I could not put my fingers on. Anyone wanna help? It's the "ting-ga-ring" part and "why you hating" part at the end. Hmm. I really liked how there's a male rapper inside. HI TAEWOON. Where's Sungmin? It's not entirely different on what T-ara as a group would take on so I don't know why people said that the subunit is taking a new style. If we're comparing it to Day by Day or y Love then yes. That is a new style. But then again, T-ara has many styles. (7/10)

Video: I'll be honest. I'm not a big T-ara fan after the scandal. I was but not anymore. I have nothing against them (I think) but like always, I stray on to a new girl group. Except for SNSD& fx because I lurb them to death. I didn't watch the drama version but I did watched the dance version! There were pretty nice choreographies but I felt there were some moes that wasn't executed as powerfully. Eunjung is a great dancer in my opinion but there was one point where it came across as awkward. Same too with Jiyeon but I guess it has to be the choreo because they're pretty good dancers. Nothing much for me to judge on but I like it. (8/10)

Other Points: Thank you CCM for Taewoon. God bless him.

So I may or may not have been biased, but I really liked Secret the best (as in personally and for this comeback as well). I would have to put T-ara and 4 Minute on the same level because I didn't really had much impact after hearing their songs. But T-ara's "Wae" will continue to haunt me (in both good and bad ways) whenever I think of the song.

I'm honestly excited to see them all on stage

Lots of Love!

4minute is the best one in my opinion!
