I think the cute Korean boy that I co-star with in my school production is seriously starting to warm up to me!

If you know me personally (which I really hope you don't, because then this blog post and the several other blog posts about him would be such an embarrassing move for my offline life), then you'll know that I'm kind of the introvert at times. Not saying that I'm totally anti-social, because then I wouldn't have much of a life and you'd see more updates on Tokki Berry.... but there are times when I just don't like talking to certain people. Not because I hate them or anything. It's nothing personal, it's just that I'm a lazy and I get lazy always trying to form conversations. I guess that's why I don't have a lot of good friends here on AFF except for a very, very select few. 

Anyway, I'm sidetracking here.

So yeah. Today at rehearsals for our play, the cute Korean co-star of mine (let's just call him L for now) happens to show up in practice. It's always been a habit of mine to ignore him because really, what the hell am I going to talk to him about? And to be honest, he's got the most boring personality. I guess his good looks, height, talent in basketball, impeccable intelligence, and y baritone voice makes up for that ty personality of his. Like, he's only good for a conversation that lasts about two sentences and you're good. Ugh.

Sidetracking again..

So I walk by him and he's like, "Angela, you know, I was here at practice yesterday and no one showed up."

It's kind of been another thing of ours to talk about how we both hardly show up at practice (we're horrible people, I know!).  Yesterday I was away for our senior graduation portraits (of which you'll know about if you follow me on Instagram ;D) and I guess there was practice but of course I didn't know about. 

I don't say anything, but merely laugh at it and walk on by. I'm so cool, I know.

But, like, what was I supposed to say to that? Honestly, it was the end of a long day and making conversations was not my forte at that moment. 

Later on, I sit down in the front of the auditorium at the end of a row of chairs reading a book and waiting for practice to begin. After a few moments, I hear someone walking down the aisle nearest me and I look up to see L sit at the end of the row of chairs across the aisle from mine. Basically, I can just turn my head and he's right there. It's quiet for a moment between us while our director is rallying up the rest of the actors and soon enough, L starts leaning over the aisle and talking to me about this competition in Alabama that we're both going to be competing in together.

All the while, I'm thinking two things:

1. OMG HE IS TALKING TO ME ACTUALLY TALKING TO ME AND STARTING THE CONVERSATIONS

and 

2. OMG why is he talking to me can't he see i'm trying to read here and ugh it's too hot in here to even be talking can you just shhhhh

So I become polite and just let him talk and ask questions and speak when he pauses. It starts to dawn on me that yes, he's really talking to me and actually warming up. I usually have to start the conversations myself and it's not really that long, but now he's talking and we're smiling and laughing and making small jokes here and there and everything feels great. 

Throughout the entire practice, we're cool with each other and finally the awkward tension is slowly melting away. 

And I like it. I really do.
