Personality: Jin is a very independent person. He will only accept help if he really needs it, and he tends to motivate others to stand on their own as well. Some people tell him he’s a bit hardheaded, and stubborn. Once he makes a decision, he will go with it; simply because he puts so much thought into his decisions, he feels that they are fail proof. However, this isn’t always the case. With a bit of effort, he can admit when he makes mistakes, but it will take a bit to get it out of him.
He was raised to be respectful to people, so when she sees people being rude, he will actually stop, and scold them without a care in the world who it is: be it either a junior, a department head, or a fellow idol.
When someone makes him angry, he tends not to directly tell them that. He hates starting unecessary conflict, and will do anything to avoid it. He tends to give people the cold shoulder if he doesn’t get along with them. However, if they push him far enough, he can blow up like a time bomb, getting very violent very quickly.
Jin doesn’t believe in regrets. Whatever you did in the past, you conciously wanted to do at one point, and you made the decision to do it. So why should one regret it? He lives every day to the fullest, and tackles life one problem at a time, in the order that they show up. he inspires this trait in others, helping them to try things they’ve never tried before, such as new foods, a different hair cut, hell…He even got Woo Jiho to go sky diving with him. He’s very daring, some might even say a bit reckless at times.
When it comes to people younger than him, he feels inclined to take care of them, and so he does. He hates to see people slacking off, and will do anything it takes to get them motivated to work hard. Whether that be to offer dinner after a job well done, or threatening to drop a beloved iPhone in the toilet totally depends on the person. He’s been told he acts a bit like a naggy umma, though he thinks he acts more like an evil mastermind, with his juniors as his minions. That being said, he really is a kind hearted kid. He hates to see people sad, and will go out of his way to cheer somebody up.

Background: Born to a lawyer and a teacher, Jin Bae was the only child of his household. Moving from Tokyo to Busan when he was 10, it was needless to say that Jin was treated like a pampered prince, getting anything that he wanted with the only catch being that he maintain a good GPA in school. And so he did: in fact, he was in the top ten of his class. He was a smart kid, but his heart wasn't really in his studies. Truthfully, Jin only kept his grades up so that his parents would pay for the classes that he took at Def Dance Skool every night. It was clear from a young age that dancing was his passion, and he was good at it too.
In high school, wanting to stop living off of his father's money, Jin got his first part time job working in a convenience store. It was nothing too serious, and his hours weren't all that long, but he made enough money that he could pay for his own dance lessons, and his grades began to slip just a little since he could finally relax. His mother was the first to notice, since he was a student of hers now, and she chose not to say anything about it to Jin's father since she knew what his reaction would be. Eventually though his father did find out, and the man flew off the handle about his son's B average, shouting about how he would amount to nothing before forbidding him from going to the dance school any longer. There was no ultimatum, no discussion. It was over.
That didn't mean that Jin stopped dancing though, or that his grades went up. In fact, he went against his father's wishes and auditoned for Skydrop Ent. at 16 and training under his mother's consent before dropping out of school altogether at the age of 17, getting kicked out of his home after enduring an hour's worth of verbal abuse at the hands of his father. At that time, he went to go live in Seoul with his friend Kyung, meeting Zico for the first time and occasionally collaborating with the two on their respective mixtapes. During this time, the bond with both males strengthened, and he found himself growing even closer to Zico than Kyung. A few months after moving in with Kyung, Jin got his own apartment down the hall.
As a trainee, Jin worked as a choreographer to help him pay for his lessons, and he often found himself working with Infinite and MBLAQ. His life was rough through those years without any form of contact from his family, and he often considered giving up and finding a "real job," but with the support of Zico, and his new friend Sunggyu, the male perservered and got to where he is today.

(b) Life as Trainee: Trainee life was a bit hard for Jin Bae, because when he told his parents about his good fortune, his father flew off the handle, and stopped speaking with him. Whenever he would call, his mom would speak to him, but only briefly to offer words of encouragement before she was fiercely shouted at to get off of the phone. While the other trainees had the support of their families, Jin found himself isolated, and getting more and more homesick. He didn't give up though. He knew what he wanted to do with his life, and so she preservered through it. He excelled in dance training as to be expected, and unsurprisingly did quite well in rapping as well. His singing however was a completely different story. In short: the male couldn't carry a tune to save his life, but through a couple years of working his off, he managed to come out sounding good enough to be a sub-vocalist. He recognizes that his voice is nothing special, and still works on improving it.

- Fidgeting Constantly: He has a mild case of ADD, so he feels the need to be moving at all times in some way shape or form. If he can't dance or walk around, he will either drum his fingers or bounce his leg up and down.
- Stopping to examine the things he likes when he sees them in Shop Windows. It's something that drives people up the wall because he always causes someone to nearly (or to actually) bump into him.
- Getting lost in stores. Honestly you can't let Jin go shopping by himself or without his phone. He can go in there for what's supposed to by five minutes to return something, and he will come out three hours later with a ton of things, many of which he doesn't even need.

His response to Jin's defiance has been that of anger, often screaming at the boy and belittling his choices every chance that he gets. Jin's relationship with his father is very strained, and though he'd never admit it, Jin's a bit afraid of him.
