Honestly, I'm not being biased but looking at things objectively; I've been a long time KPOP fan since 2003-04 era so I pretty much went through all the s lol

I just find it... hard to comprehend when people actually look down on SM as a company.

Like what I have already mentioned, SM IS a COMPANY. It's a business situated in the music industry. If someone tells you that they're making a business solely on passion, I'll tell you that's a lie.

Money does play an important factor and businesses and companies revolves around money.

To be honest, I'm kind of sick of people saying that if you want to do music, you'll go to YG. If you want to do things at your own pace, you go with JYP. and if you just want to be a popular idol, you go to SM.

I think people fail to realise that both YG and JYP are as "company-ish" as SM. They still focus on profits no matter what people say.

It irks me to see people saying that SM comes up with crappy music/music videos and what not and the idols are only known for their looks.

Number one. Music is subjective. I may not like what YG has to offer as a company but I may like what's going on in JYP or SM. You don't tell me that just because YG's style of music is more diverse and more creative (which I admit they are) are much better than the ones they made in SM. NONO. If SM's music to others is like so repetitive going on, to me it's something that I enjoy, that I'm familiar with. Heck, I even like YG's and JYP's style but I don't go around saying that a certain genre is superior than the other.

That's like bull (pardon the ty words going on). Music does not cater to one particular genre; it is open to new styles and many others. Sure you may not like it, but that doesnt mean it is of less worth than other genres. Take for an example, classical music. It's roots dates back to a long time ago yet it doesnt really have a huge following now, does it? Back then, it was the in thing but slowly died out throughout the years. Like I say, music, my friend, is subjective.

Number two. Do you even know the amount of money that goes into an SM "box" studio? Heaps. Sure, you'd counter attack it with, "but YG and JYP still has decent mvs with the same amount of money." Yeah, and that's when I'll bring my point out. Exactly. They all use lots of money and it's really up to the company whatever way they want to use it. YG and JYP may sure focus on creativity but SM is a business like I said before. They want a "standard image". They've been in the industry long enough to know what's in and what's not. So why do they continue to use box mvs?

Your answer is company branding. Once a viewer sees a similiar style of set up, they'd relate it to another mv they've seen before and guess what, that other group happen to be from SM as well. You might argue with me saying that box mvs do not affect other groups mvs but honestly, it's all part of tricks of the trade. Really. Try to learn more about business and marketing and then perhaps you can bring up some other points again.

From this long essay, I'm pretty sure that people think that I'm an SM fan. Yes, I'm a fan of the SM family but that doesnt necessarily mean I'm a big fan of the company itself. They have done many things that might or might not have been unsightly but honestly, which company doesnt do that? It's all part of the business. 

Mistreated artists? Lesser income? No creativity?

Honestly, let's just say... the idols in SM are rich enough to buy their own houses and cars AND they all have contracts to abide by, which I must add, was of their own personal opinions should they want to sign it or not. Dirty laundrys are everywhere in each and every company/business.

I wouldn't say SM is a saint, but they're no devils either. It's not a charity organisation, so of course idols have to work hard and have irregular sleeping hours just to do WHAT THEY WANT TO DO. I'm not saying the irregular sleeping hours are accepted but it happens in every industry all over the world AND your idols chose this path. Of course they'd know what's coming for them. 

No, YG and JYP are not of the lesser evils as compared to SM. They're just as bad in their own ways and they're just as good individually as well. Honestly, each business has its pros and cons so I really hope people would just open their eyes for a while. 

I'm really sorry for the long rant but I think people should know that at the end of the day, it all amounts up to personal preference.

One can say "Don't go into SM. You'll be milked." But you know what?

If I was given a choice, I'd still head to SM to become a trainee even though the chances and risks are maximised. You know why? It's called preferences. SM makes the type of music that I like and I wouldnt mind learning dance and variety skills along the way either because I think they're really good skills.

Likewise. If YG and JYP were my taste of music, I'd head on to their companies without any doubt.

And if after this rant, someone were to call me as a part of an SM cult, I'll really cut your throat cos then it simply shows that you didn't understand my words. I'm not defending the company because there's nothing to be defend against.

Neither am I part of a cult cos honestly, I'm just stating my views here. You may have your own personal views and I respect that, but I request that you don't shove your idealogies into my throat because all I'm seeing around the net are people shoving idealogies down each other's throats.
