i don't need a man Park Sunjung the independent angel ►

nice to meet you

◄ username - unnamed1demannu

◄ profile link - ►►►

◄ name/nickname - Lia

she's my lady

◄ name - Park Sunjung

◄ nicknames - Jungah (her family members and close friends, because her older sister's name is Sunyung and she's nicknamed Sun)

◄ age - 18

◄ birthdate - 10.14

◄ ethnicity - Full Korean

◄ birthplace - LA, California (her family was on vacation visiting relatives and she was born prematurely - they didn't expect her until after they got back to Korea)

◄ hometown - Seoul, South Korea

◄ languages - Korean (fluent), English (horribly engrishy, plus she doesn't really know much grammar, especially sentence structures)

◄ job - She's worked at a clothing shop before, and is currently working at a coffee shop (barista), but she's considering quitting in order to find a job she'd like better and would pay better.

beautiful my girl

◄ appearance - Jung Sunga

► pictures - one two three four five

◄ back-up appearanceKim Shin Yeong

► pictures one  two  three  four  five

◄ height and weight - 168 cm, 53 kg

◄ extra

Sunjung has short brown hair that she likes to curl. She also likes to play with highlights a little, so she'll sometimes have some dark red highlights or dark blue highlights. She will never highlight her hair a light color (or a light shade) because she thinks it looks vaguely circus-y. Her ears are pierced, but that's it - she doesn't like needles. Her face is a little round and young-looking and her eyes are dark brown, almost black. Her eyesight isn't the best, so she has a pair of glasses, but she doesn't like wearing them. She generally wears soft contacts instead (not colored, not circle lenses). She's not very curvy - doesn't really have hips, B-cup, basically not an amazingly stunning body or anything.

◄ style -

She has a cute/casual style - loose blouses, especially with v-necks - she really likes v-necks, light colored capris, sandals - she'd like heels except she can't walk properly in them. Sunjung likes to dress as if it's perpetually summer, even if it isn't practical at all. During the winter, she'll wear really bulky coats, puffy fur sweaters, and boots because she can't stand the cold. However, she doesn't like skirts or dresses because she feels they impede movement - same with skinny jeans and heels.

another me

◄ nutshell

► good traits - Trustworthy, creative, compassionate, brave

► bad traits - Naive, reckless, headstrong, prideful, underestimates others, impatient

◄ personality - (elaborate on your traits - 1 to 5 paragraphs; quality over quantity)

Sunjung is the type of person who will listen to your complaints, let you cry on her shoulder, go out and buy a gallon of Ben & Jerry's ice cream for you two to share, and then recite every single piece of advice she's learned from self-help books. What's more, she'll expect it to work. Sunjung has very good intentions and she's a great listener, but giving advice is not her strong point. Almost contradictorily, Sunjung's very innovative. She's great at problem solving, as long as it doesn't involve emotions or people. She's a great (and daring) rock climber because she'll look at a wall and see all sorts of alternate paths and tricks that would allow her to easily get past problem areas.

She loves action, whether it be extreme sports, horror movies, anything that gets her heart pumping and adrenaline rushing through her blood. Normally, she's okay with setting boundaries and staying away from truly dangerous things. When she gets bored, though, she gets much more reckless and starts ignoring warnings in favor of doing anything to get that adrenaline high.

Sunjung's also very friendly and open. She has no qualms with approaching random strangers and starting up a conversation. She's pretty good at talking to people and she's very amiable. However, she's very confident about her own abilities and doesn't refrain from bragging. In her opinion, if you've got it, why don't you flaunt it? That annoys some people, especially if she starts talking about herself and doesn't stop.

◄ likes

heights. She likes standing in high elevations and looking down on the world - it makes her feel powerful and free. The andrenaline rush doesn't hurt, either. She especially loves those towers with glass floors and bungee jumping.

horror movies/haunted houses. She loves being scared - she likes testing her ability to be scared, too, because it allows her to brag that she's not scared of anything.

ice cream. First, she has a serious sweet tooth. Second, she likes cold foods. She also likes patbingsoo a lot because she really loves red bean paste as well.

volunteering (community service jobs). It makes her feel productive and helpful.

hanging out with friends. Why shouldn't she? To her, her friends are the best part of her life.

skiing. Probably the only thing she likes about winter. For her, it's exhilerating to go really fast down a mountainside with nothing but skiis and ski poles.

◄ dislikes

goldfish. She had some as 'pets' when she was younger, but was too lazy to clean the tank regularly. The water got green and murky and disgusting, and then the fish started to die and got eaten by other fish and the tank started to stink. It was horrible.

Hats, especially beanies and baseball caps. She feels they're constricting and fall off too often. She dislikes helmets, but still wears them because she knows how easy it is to fall and smash your head open if you don't have a helmet on.

cheese. She thinks it's stringy and slimy and disgusting.

cold temperatures. She can't swim or do a lot of outdoor activities if it's too cold outside, and it makes her feel lethargic. Her friends sometimes joke that she's cold-blooded.

multiple choice/true-false questions. She thinks it's stupid to constrict answers down to a couple of choices.

escalators. Because they're too slow, there's always people who go on there and just stop walking which clogs up the entire escalator, and her shoelace got caught in one once.

◄ hobbies

 rock climbing

 swimming

playing drums (she's not good at it, but she likes hitting things)

 photo editing

building things out of Legos (she has a giant box of legos at home)

◄ habits

If she's nervous, she goes into random, unprompted giggling fits

She doesn't like to sit in armchairs - she likes to sit on the arms

Every time she passes by a tree, she assesses it for 'climability'. If she deems it a very good tree to climb, she will ignore whatever she was going to do originally and start climbing it unless someone actively drags her along.

◄ trivia

She has horrible handwriting and drawing skills

► She doesn't want to have kids. The idea of pregnancy scares her.

► She has a really high tolerance for spicy foods

► She's fine with killing insects (except stinkbugs), because the feeling of them crunching between her fingers amuses her.

► Actually, she's not a bad barista now. She had a hard time of it when she started, though.

► Her parents want her to study in the US, especially since she's technically an American citizen (funny rules about children born in the US)

► She has a slight caffiene addiction.

into your world

◄ story of her life

She was born two and a half weeks premature. Her parents and older sister were visiting a cousin and were actually planning on leaving the day Sunjung was born, but her birth threw a serious wrench in their plans. Even though she was premature, she was a healthy enough baby. Her parents debated if it would be safe for her to fly. They considered leaving her with their relatives for a few months, but scrapped that and just extended their vacation for two more weeks, until Sunjung had her two-week checkup and was deemed healthy enough.

Sunjung wasn't a very healthy baby, so her parents became very protective of her. However, her immune system suddenly kicked in when she was in elementary school and she didn't get sick much after that. She was a good student, but not exceptional or extraordinary, and she had a decent amount of friends. Several of her childhood friends were into rock climbing - that's why she started. There was also a nice community pool near where she lived, and she always went there to play during the summer. Her parents were still protective over her, but backed off once it became clear that she was much healthier.

She had quite a few female friends and a few guy friends, but they thought of her more as a sister or "one of the guys" and never were interested in dating her. Other guys were scared off by her directness - she never fancied waiting for someone to ask her out and would directly ask out guys she liked instead.

◄ family -

father - Park Donguk - 52 - alive - surgeon - dependable, hardworking, caring, optimistic, strong-willed - He's a little overprotective of Sunjung, but she (mostly) understands and they have a very good relationship

mother - Park Siah - 45 - alive - real estate agent - Loud, confident, charismatic, good sense of humor, a little overbearing - Sunjung's sometimes embarrassed to be seen around her mother because she's so loud and demonstrative, but they have a pretty good relationship. Sunjung isn't willing to tell her mother a lot, though, because she's afraid it'll get blown out of proportion or something.

siblings

older sister - Park Sunyung - 23 - alive - college student/law school - logical, introverted, judgemental, caring, intelligent - They had a lot of fights when they were younger, but they treasure each other as siblings right now. They're very different, and that allows them to help each other a lot.

others -

uncle (father's younger brother) - Park Dohwan - 49 - alive - part-time ski instructor, pilot - daredevil, fun-loving, irresponsible, generous, confident - She idolizes him a little, because he's the other "adventurous" one of the family. He encourages her in a lot of her more active pursuits.

◄ best friends

► the mother-like figure - Sunjung thinks that she's little overbearing at times (like her real mother), but also isn't nearly as embarrassed with her as with her actual mother and thinks that she's really cool. She calls her "mom" as a joke a lot, and likes being cared for, just a little.

► the artistic wallflower - Sunjung encourages her to follow her passions, and sometimes tells her horror stories from her dad's work just to gross her out. TAW gets annoyed at her sometimes, but Sunjung always apologizes. They're not super close, but they're comfortable with each other.

► the outgoing princess - Sunjung loves TOP (also maybe the one from BIGBANG, but I'm going with the acronym here XD) and thinks she's really cool and her family's stupid for not paying much attention to her. They sometimes complain about older sibling troubles together.

► the dubious tomboy - This girl is Sunjung's best friend. She loves TDT's sense of humor and admires her skateboarding (and video game) skills. She always tries to drag TDT along for her horror movie sessions and feels like she can tell her anything. In fact, if Sunjung has a secret, TDT's always going to be the first to know.

► the moody ballerina - Sunjung's a little unsure around TMB, because she wants her to be happy and respect herself and her talent more but doesn't know how to bring that about. She'll always try and tell jokes or edit funny pictures to make TMB smile or laugh, and always supports her dancing endeavors.

◄ friends/rivals/others

Co-worker/friend - Park Sunyoung (Luna) - 19 - they're both outgoing and vivacious. They're known as the "Park duo" at work, because they're in the same shift. They always make jokes, chat with customers, and generally lighten up the atmosphere whenever they work together. However, they don't hang out much outside of work.

Friend - Kim Kibum (Key) - 21 - they were childhood friends. Now, they have conversations entirely made up of making fun of each other. He's the closest thing she has to an older brother, and she always tries to set him up with her older sister.

what is love

◄ the love interest - the clingy flower boy

► name - Lu Han

► age - 21

► personality

He's a little hyper, a little naive, and very ebuillent. If he starts talking, it's a little difficult to get him to stop. Also, if he decides he likes you, it's difficult to get rid of him - he will pop up in your phone contacts, on your T-list, in the place you work. He doesn't actively seek you out (he does give his phone number to everyone, though, and he's very active when it comes to social networking), so it's not too creepy. It can get a little annoying. He has a great sense of humor and likes practical jokes. Luhan takes insults very personally, too, and he'll have a hurt puppy expression on until you apologize or he forgets. He doesn't forget things easily.

Luhan's greatest fear is being forgotten by everyone. That's partially why he gives out his phone number to everyone and why he's so active in social networking. If they see his name - if they have his number - he'll still be remembered, even if it's with a eyeroll and a sigh of "oh, it's that dude again".

◄ how they met

They met during the great escapade. Sunjung needed her daily dose of caffiene, so she went to check out a coffee shop. They had a really huge menu, with all sorts of coffee that she'd never heard of before, even though she's a barista. In the midst of trying to decide if there was a significant difference between 2% milk aand 1.5% milk, a cute blond dude literally bounced up to her and introduced himself as "Luhan, which means little deer, which my friend over there that looks like a baozi thinks is really cool, and are you lost, because you kinda look lost." Sunjung stared at him for five seconds or so, in which he just blinked innocently back. She told him that, no, she wasn't lost; she was just trying to decide what kind of coffee to get. He told her they made really good vanilla lattes, "but you have to get full milk and tons of sugar, or else it just tastes bad." She was dubious, but ordered it, and it turned out to be really good. She chatted with him and his friend for a bit afterwards.

(you can just have them meet in a coffee shop; my brain decided to have Luhan go hyperactive out of the blue)

◄ how they act around each other

► he - He admires her independence and talks a lot around her. He always cracks jokes or plays jokes, and tries to be as happy and upbeat as possible.

► she - At first, she just thought of him as this weird kid who chugs Red Bull in his spare time or something. Then, she sees him as a partner-in-law (in terms of pranks) and enjoys his company - he always brightens her day a bit.

◄ their love story

Junsung didn't see it as a "love" type of relationship at first, since she was used to boys not liking her romantically. Then she started to think Luhan was getting overbearing or clingy, and they had a fight about that. She told him to back off. In response, Luhan told her he loved her, to which she basically scoffed and went "yeah right". She decided she didn't want to date him, because he was too clingy. Later, she learned about his abandoment problems, which made her rethink her decision and also made her realize that, just maybe, she loved him too.

◄ ending - Surprise me!

talk that ►

◄ i don't need a man -

► Does she tell her parents/guardian(s) about her great escapade to Jeju? - She tells her dad, who's pretty much okay with it, and leaves a note for her mom, complete with flowers and a box of chocolates (she's pretty sure her mom would be okay with it too, but isn't sure and really wouldn't want to confront her in person). She also gets her uncle's blessing, but that's almost a given.

► How many crushes did she had in the past? - One serious one when she was thirteen (to the boy who rejected her because she was too strong), one mild one when she was fifteen, but she didn't act on that one and the guy turned out to be a jerk anyways.

► What is her ideal type personality-wise? - She likes guys who are open with her, who treat her more as a friend than a girlfriend. She also likes guys who are willing to try out adventerous/slightly dangerous things with her.

► What is her first impression of 'the clingy flower boy'? - Her first impression is that he's nice, but probably chugs a ton of Red Bull every day or something, and could afford to take a chill pill once in a while. And talk a bit slower.

 no more pain, goodbye goodbye

◄ comments, questions, concerns - ...she's not much of an angel, is she. um. I have the feeling she started becoming a sporty/athletic/tomboy stereotype - tell me if you think so too/if it annoys you. I tried to make the style a little more girly to counteract that, too. I'm up for any suggestions/things you'd like me to change.

◄ suggestions, scene requests - Possibly a gigantic prank for someone's birthday, that ends in a surprise birthday party with lots of balloons and confetti and cake.
