Lee Geum Hee

Geum Hee's tiny fists were trembling. She was alone on Christmas. Her small figure was buried underneath countless blankets on her bed, but she was still cold. She shifted several times, uncomfortable nomatter how much she wiggled around. It was below freezing. Her family was out on vacation with her little brother, and Geum Hee was regretting saying that she would be fine on her own. A weekend alone with her boyfriend had sounded very inviting, but now the cold bit at her skin and she just wanted to roll up in a ball. Even her family's chubby, supposedly loyal dog, Puff, had left her alone, retreating to the warmer laundry room(with a puff). This is not fair, she mumbled. Gongchan, her boyfriend, had called her five times since she woke up, but that still didn't change the fact that his flight was delayed.

To make matters worse, she was hungry. The kitchen seemed so far away, as if she would have to climb up an icy mountain just to get there. She groaned, accidentally rolling over on her side... off of the bed. She had no choice now so she was determined to make it to the kitchen. Although she may be clumsy, she was quick on her feet and got there in no time. Leftover Chinese takeout looked like a five star meal in her shining eyes. She put it in the microwave. While it took fifteen agonizing seconds to heat up, she started a fire in the living room to warm herself. She no doubt looked silly in her three scarves and many layers of clothing, especially since she was inside, but hey, no one else was going to see her(unless you counted Puff).

Or at least thats what she thought until the doorbell rang. Geum Hee's catlike eyes darted to it quickly then back to the food. She of course chose the food. Then it rang again. And again. She gave in, trudging over to the door. When she opened it, she almost dropped her beloved leftovers from the shock of the sight in front of her. It was him! "Hey, Gummy" he smiled broadly. She squealed and jumped childishly, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Gongchan!" She was grinning just as wide as him. "But... I thought you weren't... till tommorrow... I was.." He put a finger to her lips, indicating shush. "I'm a man full of wonders and secrets" he laughed, his voice teasing.

She winked at him and led him inside, holding the half-eaten chicken and rice behind her back. If he could have secrets, she could, too. Of course, hearing Gongchan's voice, Puff jumped up and ran to him faster than Geum Hee thought an overweight dog could run. Gongchan beamed and scratched the dog behind her ears, the prescence of his girlfriend dissapearing. Geum Hee pouted, pulling on his sleeve. Puff had rolled over onto her belly. "Yah, Channie!" she tugged harder. He turned to her, Puff's tail wagging in the background, "What is it?" She pointed to the dog. "Don't tell me... You're jealous of a dog?"

Gongchan stared at her in disbelief. She looked at him, immitating Puff's puppy dog eyes. "Aish..." he said. He leaned closer to her and whispered in her ear, "Don't worry, you'll always be my favorite." She smiled slightly but tried to hide it. "I don't believe you~" she hummed. He pecked her lips and patted her head, raising an eyebrow as if to ask, Better? She giggled. "Okay. But don't cheat on me, I got my eye on you two," she pointed a finger at the now whining dog and her boyfriend.
