U-Kiss’ 3rd Full album: COLLAGE

Here I go again with my latest “Full Album Review”. So as a Kiss Me, I just couldn’t contain my feels about U-Kiss’ comeback. The wait was crucial because unlike their other comebacks, we just received “photos” as teasers. Well, the title says it all – it’s a COLLAGE. But first of all, let’s define “Collage”. Collage is a technique of an art production, primarily used in the visual arts, where the artwork is made from an assemblage of different forms, thus creating a new whole. We will see how this definition is related with their latest album. (Thanks Wiki! XD)

Even though the MV is still undergoing a revision (which is pretty good because it will avoid the incident happened in their “Believe” MV where they had to edit it on last minute because this “accident” between Kevin and AJ didn’t fail to catch the viewers’ attention), let us enjoy and drool over their latest tracks from their 3rd full album.

I don’t want to comment much about their carrier single because I still can’t move on from their oozing live performance of “Standing Still”.

Let’s start, shall we?

“Step by step”, well, I’m a big fan of dubstep so this intro made me more excited to listen to the entire album and what it has in store for me. Like what I’ve said earlier, I still can’t move on from their live perf of “Standing Still” but I really love this song and it’s “electropop” touch. I just can’t really wait for the MV!. “숨도쉬어” (Can’t Breathe) is the third track from Collage. This song is pretty catchy and it will continuously grow in you if you listen to it non-stop. “Missing you” caught my attention easily. Why? Let me be biased a bit here, it’s Kevin who started it. So yeah, that’s given. XD But seriously, this is a feel-good song. I love the touch of “synth-pop” and a little of RnBish beat of this track. Next, “나쁘다” (Bad Person) has a very interesting beat. I actually thought it’s an acapella song but the beat never fails to get in me.

The other half of the album is really exciting because it includes interesting solo and duets. ^_^

The 6th track is “아픔보다아픈” or “Love is Painful” which is a special track from Hoon and Soohyun. I really love their powerful voices that make the song more meaningful because of the emotions they pour in it.

The next one is my favorite – again, I’m being biased. But I think, whoever listens to Kevin’s “My Reason” will fall in love to it. It’s very sweet and romantic – a song that I’d like my future boyfriend (and I hope it’d be Kevin :p)to sing for me. I wonder who the girl rapper is, though.

“Party all the time” is seriously part of  my top three favorite tracks from this album. Eli and AJ sound so good together. Finally, a song just for the main rappers of the group! I love how upbeat the song is. Although, the chorus part cracks me up. I don’t know why, but it kinda reminds me of a “Kiddie song” plus AJ’s voice sounds so refreshing maybe because I haven’t heard it in a while. I’m so glad he’s back. But this song rocks and make me really “…party all the time!”

The next track is….uhm… how should I explain this? It’s quite unexpected. Recently, I just learned about EXO-K’s another leaked song which is “365”. The beat of the song reminded of One Direction. Now listening to “Sweety Girl” reminds me of “What makes you beautiful” of 1D. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing because the song is actually pretty catchy. But the melody and rhythm of SG and WMYB sound really alike. But anyway, I still enjoy this song because of its summery beat.

Lastly, 사랑하니까” (‘Cause I love you) is the song where you can hear all the members again. It is like a song where the 7 of them get reunited. A song which they dedicate for their fellow members and most of all – for their fans.

So now, can you tell why it’s called Collage? Yes. It’s because of different styles and tandems glued in one album. I haven’t seen much of their photos from this album except from those photo teasers, but I could tell that this doesn’t just focused in being a “Collage” visually but also…musically.

From an intro full of dubstep, an electropop song, a romantic ballad to a song that will make you party all night long – this album definitely has EVERYTHING. For me, it is also like a “compilation of U-Kiss’ genres” because the album is simply… U-KISS. ^_^

Overall: 10 out of 10
