SO...

For some reason I keep seeing fans on random sites wondering if Onew is gay, lol.

Like...bro.

I understand where some of them are coming from. Most of the reasoning is that,

"he's quiet whenever they ask about girls!"

I mean...?

Do you want him to bust out in a song and dance and do cartwheels? Lol

Truthfully, in my opinion, I don't think he is.

Helloooooo? Has anyone seen the most recent episode of their One Fine Day show? When he saw the girl in her bikini? He made the oops face, but he sure did turn back around and look. 

...for a good little minute, lol.

Its like his innocence and his manhood collided at that exact moment. Boys will be boys.

 But I think there are reasons for his indifference when it comes to that question, you know?

These are purely my opinions, lol. Just from growing up with a lot of guy friends and through the dating life that I've experienced, so don't take anything I say to heart.

NOTHING.

They're mere possibilities. Not facts.

#1: He's already in a relationship.

HEAR ME OUT FIRST, lol.

Men in relationships tend to watch what they say about other women or about relationships in general. Especially if they're public figures and whatever they say is likely to be distorted beyond belief and relayed back to whoever it is that they're dating. Whenever Onew is asked, he keeps it very vague.

'I only have guy friends.'

'I don't have the time.'

'Pretty hands and feet, short hair, no cursing.'

It seems to change a lot.

And that's really only when he's asked directly. If he isn't, like any idol, its likely that he won't say much of anything. Or, they'll describe traits that belong to the person they're already seeing. (i.e Block B's U-Kwon)

However, Onew is pretty smart, so even if he was seeing someone I'm sure he wouldn't give away many of her physical attributes. Especially if she's also an idol/entertainer. Besides, I've seen a few girls talking about a bracelet he's been wearing? I haven't noticed, but they say its a couple thing. Who knows.

#2: He really, truly, genuinely has no intimacy experiences with women.

 Straight up, this seems more UNlikely to me.

Even though he's beautiful, smart, seems pretty charasmatic aside from his clumsiness...he also seems like the type of person to immerse himself in his work and pay no attention to vanity. Like he says, he does seem more comfortable around men. And its probably simply because he is one. He doesn't seem to linger with girls that aren't from his own company. He seems pretty close to Luna and a few of the girls from SNSD. Other than that, it seems like he's more at ease around older women. He seems kind of jumpy and/or completely silent around girls his age for some reason, lol. And when he does talk about women, he throws out a wide variety of possibilites. Unlike a person who's dated around, and had the chance to narrow out what they do and don't like.

OK but lately...

Is it just me, or does he seem a bit more sure of himself? I love the fact that he seems to just be content. At times, at least.

I don't doubt that he's had more than enough chances to date (or other things...o_o), but has he taken them?

I don't think its all that likely.

MY TAKE ON THE OTHER FOUR:

Jonghyun - this boy has most defintely dated. He's been in at least one serious relationship. For him to write the kinds of lyrics that he writes, especially about love and heartbreak, he has to have felt that. Plus, the lyrics to Alarm Clock mention a breakup. Lol. I'm not sure if its figurative or what, but I feel like (besides Shin Se Kyung) he's been with a girl or two.

People like to paint him as a flirt. And I don't doubt that he is, look at him! Lol. He knows he can make girls giggle and blush, but it seems like when he's with a girl...he's with that girl, only. Like, he seems like the type to commit and stay committed. The kind of love he has for his sister and his mother speak volumes about that. Plus, he's super in touch with his feelings, lol. It wouldn't shock me at all.

*EDIT -  On The Beatles Code during the Sherlock comeback (and any interview really), when they asked the boys about girlfriends Jonghyun got super nervous. Lol like, stuttering. Either he had just been through something with someone and didn't want to talk/think about it. Or he was currently dealing with someone. He was like, sweating lol. Plus, in other interviews when they're asked about girls, Jonghyun will usually step in and wrap it up very, very quickly.

Minho - We all know this one. He's most definitely been in a relationship, or at least tried. MinYul is real. I don't care what anyone says lol. He made no but's about showing it on stage. Yuri always seemed to be the one to shy away from really making it obvious. Besides, he's constantly 'forever grateful and always sorry', to her.

Reason?

He was making empty promises. Not paying her nearly enough attention. And acting like it was no big deal.

BEEN THERE. DONE THAT.

His version of Rocketeer says it all.

'I wanna meet you but our schedules won't permit it.'

'One day I believe we'll be able to walk freely.'

And so does the song she wrote, called Mistake. (Psh. I know how you feel, girl.)

CASE: SOLVED.

Taemin - His mind seems to be on nothing but food and dancing. Not to say that he's not getting thrown at him from every corner, but I doubt he's stopping to find out who's throwing them lol. He's 19. While he probably is really fascinated by women, they don't seem like a priority to him. 

Key - WHO KNOWS lol. He's such a mystery its ridiculous. Because...at the same time, he isn't lol. He's so frank, and straightforward that I think it would be hard for him to maintain a relationship with just any girl. A relationship with Key would be a full time job + overtime. Love him, though. I could see myself wandering the city and drinking coffee with him. He's adorable.

Well...

Back to writing. I get writer's block because of these things! Lol.

I had to get it out.
