Personality : Eun Kyung is one of those people that seem to know everyone; when she walks down the halls at Woolim Ent, nearly all the people she passes, she returns a greeting to, calls them oppa or unnie or ___-ah (and the strangers, she takes the initiative to greet them.) There's a reason why she's called Woolim's Little Sister, after all. However, she only has a select few people that she can actually truly call her friends. Anyone who becomes one of those people, she treats them like her real sisters and brothers. She's known to not stick with just one person, will be seen talking to many people throughout the day. She apologizes to her band members and managers for straying off to talk with crew members or guests/MCs on shows and such a lot. She's a perfectionist with everything she does and is her biggest critic. But she's also everyone else's critic too; if she sees a mistake, she'll point it out. She knows she can get away with a lot because of the child-like image she has (children are known to be bluntly honest, after all~) In her free time, she has no limits, will go crazy, maybe even sing songs with other groups. But when it comes to work, she's dead serious.

She's rather meticulous in how she plans things out before doing them. She likes to have a to-do list of goals and get things done, often not coming out of the practice room until she can perform her lines excellently/memorize the choreography up until x point without mistakes. She wants to show everyone (trainees, fans, her sunbaes) that she belongs among them, that she's not an inexperienced child in an adult's industry. When it comes to work and her performance, she doesn't want to be babied. She doesn't admit her flaws or failings to anyone, not even her own family. She prefers to fix her problems by herself and doesn't ask for help from anyone. Because of this, sometimes the bright smile she wears is a fake smile.

Background : Eun Kyung had a strong voice like her brother from the start. When sibling rivalry got in their way, a good way to become friends again was to sing together. Her brother sang for fun mostly, though, and he was always better than her. She wanted to be like Baekhyun, be amazing and smile as if his life was easy. She wanted to be like that too, but it often took her a long time to get both the notes and the lyrics right, longer than it took her brother. Baekhyun said it was okay, that she was just a kid and he already had taken vocal lessons.

Later on, she entered singing competitions and won a lot of prizes for her singing. At one of them, she got scouted and became a trainee. Baekhyun and her family cheered her on. She talks to them sometimes at night, since she stays at the trainee dorms. Her family likes the fact that she has many people that are willing to look after their only daughter, especially happy when she tells them that the Epik High members are her appas. Eun Kyung likes the attention and status she gets at both school and on the streets because she is a trainee. A year later, her brother gets scouted also and her parents are extremely happy for them both and their futures. Baekhyun isn't as popular as she is within SM, but when he is confirmed to debut as a member of EXO, she hopes that she can have the same success, only better.

Interesting moment with family : There was this one time, during a break at some shooting, that Epik High, Sunggyu, and Eun Kyung were all present. Eun Kyung, at that time 14, had to go somewhere for a minute. In the time that she was gone, Eun Kyung's parents and her brother came to see her, bringing her favorite food made by her mother with them. Eun Kyung came back and saw them; her eyes widened in surprise and she yelled out a loud and happy, "APPA! UMMA! OPPAAAAA!" because it had been a while since she saw them. However, where Epik High and Sunggyu were was in front of her family and closer to Eun Kyung, so they thought she was talking to them. So while her family is overjoyed to see her too and she starts to run to them, Tablo stopped Eun Kyung. He and the rest of Epik High are not so amused, wondering who she was calling "umma" out of them. Sunggyu returned her happiness with his own in the form of a tight brotherly hug.

Eun Kyung's mother laughed and said jokingly, "Well, looks like they're her family, so she doesn't need us anymore."

Her father joined in with, "What were we doing here again? Did we get lost?"

Baekhyun smiled and teased, "Maybe Umma wanted someone's autograph. Hey is that Mithra over there?"

Mother denied it and spluttered. Epik High and Sunggyu now know what's going on and are laughing embarrasedly. They let Eun Kyung go as her mother started to usher them out of the shooting site. Eun Kyung backhugged her mother and then that turned into a big family group hug soon after. They are all just happy then.

Reason of Rivalry : Once, Hayoung and Eun Kyung meet on a show with Super Junior oppas. Both of them greet each other and think they'll get along just fine... until they start recording. Hayoung and Eun Kyung are both 96-liners and their groups' maknae, so the oppas and MC constantly talk about them both together and compare the two. Hayoung introduces herself as the "Indian Princess", while Eun Kyung introduces herself as the "Spunky Princess". Both of them do a little rap. Both of them perform cute aegyo. Both of them are like little sisters to others. Both of them compete for the camera's and their oppas' attention, hating the fact that they keep getting compared, that when one becomes the center of attention for a moment, the other gets attention for the same thing and the previous one gets forgotten. After the recording, they have a little fight in the waiting room, insulting each other, calling each other pathetic for thinking they could be better. If they ever meet, they will glare at each other and maybe call each other names under their breaths. It can get out of hand if one of them react to the names.

How Do You Get Into WOOLIM?: She entered singing competitions a lot when she was younger, mostly because her older brother Baekhyun did once. She wanted to excel in something and really liked winning all the prizes. She especially liked it when her parents told people about her and how she won singing competitions. At one of them, a scout from Woolim was there and told her to audition after she won the prize. She wowed the judges at Woolim, but they weren't sure if it was okay to train a 13 year old, so they almost told her that she didn't pass.

Trainee Life : She was 13 when she first entered Woolim and everyone was older than her, treated her like a little kid. Amazing vocals run in her family, it seemed, but just having amazing vocals is not enough to become an idol. She has to learn multiple genres of music, learn how to memorize lyrics, sight-read note sheets, remember dance choreography, learn how to rap... Her natural talent was not enough for Woolim, even though it was enough for her school and singing competitions in the past. There was a quote she was told by a staffer there: "Those who start out with no talent whatsoever and took lessons to improve themselves are better than those with natural talents for it because they stop there, thinking they are good enough." So she trains hard and takes her mistakes to heart when she sees all the other trainees who have been there for a long time. Because of them, she trains harder and pushes herself; her favorite strategy is to keep practing until she gets it right. She has practiced through meal times, for hours on end, and even until 4 AM (she gets up at 5 AM everyday) sometimes. She did not have an easy time training at all, but she makes excuses and doesn't tell people how long and hard she works so then they respect her more. If they knew some of the things she did, they'd be worried for her and tell her to work less... Maybe now that she is in a group, others will finally notice?
