Personality: A diva sometimes, but she would act cool and casual on the outside. When she's around close friends, she's mre sweet, and talkative. Family/Background: Mei was born in Shanghai, China while her family was in vacation. She had grew up in Hong Kong for most of her life. She focused hard on her studies, and always challenged herself with more languages, and harder lessons from above grade levels. She skipped a couple grades and graduated highschool at the age of 16. She had moved to Seoul, South Korea near the age 17. Her parents wanted to send her off to college, but she argued. She said she'll go for 4 years, but that she also wanted to become an idol and fought with her parents. She stopped talking to them for 2 weeks, and her parents saw her determination in becoming and international idol. Her mother managed to convince her father, and he finally gave in. She had gone to college while going through 3 years of training. She had taken summer courses as well, completing it, and managed to get a Masters' degree. Her dad tried to convince her in getting to work as a doctor or a lawyer, or even a politician, but she refused. She had set her goal in becoming an idol when she was 12, and a model at the age of 15. Her parents saw how here interest in fashion grew, so instead of going against her decisions, they supported her. She ended up becoming a young ulzzang model at the age of 17 and still is one throughout her idol career.

Trainee History: Began training during her 2nd year in college, and worked alongside Key, Tiffany, and Krystal during her trainee years. She had auditioned with the help of Key's support, and stored a few tips from Krystal & Tiffany in vocals, and Key with dance steps, rap lines, and fashion advice. She grew really close with Key and formed a strong friendship with him. If there was anyone she needed help from though, she would go to Krystal and Tiffany because of their earlier experience then her, and because they are female, so they would understand her problems better. Throughout her years, she didn't stay in touch with her friends back in Hong Kong.
