Madness
Here she finds herself again,
Standing on the ledge of the wooden bridge in her backyard.
She looks down below her rugged boots, and the decaying leaves underneath look so distant.
She feels on top of the world as mad as that might seem.
A cold and quick breeze swirls around her as she lifts her arms out by her side.
She doesn't move, and she doesn't jump.
Everyone expects her to give up so easily.
Instead, she just stands there; waiting.
She's waiting for someone to save her.
She's waiting for his voice to tell her that everything will be okay.
She's waiting for him to tell her to not be so alone.
She's waiting, but no one comes.
She doesn't jump as she screams to the faceless trees.
"He'll come," she mutters repeatedly to the whispers of the wind.
She wishes deeply to fall from the ledge of the bridge.
She just stays there and waits.
She waits for him, and a insensate feeling is flooding her.
She waits for someone to save her from the madness that is suffocating her hazy mind.
She waits, but the madness takes over.
