Even though she uses her body to get things sometimes she's really not confident about her body. Ever since she was little she never felt comfprtable with herself. She always felt as if she were in the wrong body. She'd always see her mom trying on dresses and doing her hair she never had the same intrests as the other little boys. She felt as if she should play with the other girls but they avoided her because she had 'cooties'. Han-yeol never felt as if he were a boy or should have been born one. When he was 11 he started playing in his mom's make-up and trying on her dresses when his parents were away. At home he'd dance around in skirts and tube tops. At school he would try his best to hide all of his feelings but it was hard. During gym he'd watch all the other boys change and when he was 13 one of the boys noticed and pushed him. Unfortunately for Han-yeol he had a hard-on and all the boys saw it. After that he became known as 'that gay kid' in school. When he went hom he told his father that he wanted to be home schooled and he agreed. Han-yeol told his parents how he felt about himself and his mother yelled at him. She told him that it was just a phase and that he'd grow out of it. His father told him that it was okay for him to feel that way and he must do what he thinks is right. So Han-yeol started cross dressing and his father gave him the name Yu-Jin because that's what he would have named him if he were his daughter. Yu-Jin's mother stil didn't approve but she got used to it. When Yu-Jin was 14 she met a boy named Jung-Hyun he said she was the cutest girl that he'd ever seen, Yu-Jin meant to tell him that he was a boy but he had never had an actual boyfriend before so she didn't want to give it up.
One day Yu-Jin and Jung-Hyun were going to have their first date and since she was already at the movies with her dad she decided to stay and wait for Jung-Hyun to show up. Yu-Jin's father said that he would go get him since he wanted to be nice because it was his daughter's first date. Yu-Jin's father picked up Jung-Hyun and was on his way back and that's when it happened. Yu-Jin's father collided with a truck head on, the person driving the truck was a sleeping driver and he survived without a scratch. But her father and bofriend weren't as lucky, Jung-Hyun died from the impact and her father was left a vegetable. Yu-Jin started folding cranes for her father just how her father taught her, she made thousands of cranes for him hoping that he'd get better, she'd always go into his room everyday and talk to him and hold him more cranes she'd tell him about her day or something else, she never cried around her father, she didn't want him to be sad. Yu-Jin's mother had to go back to work so Hyun-Shik, Yu-Jin's her uncle, would come over and take care of her. Yu-Jin was still a boy at the time and his uncle would sneak into his room at night and touch him.
Sometimes his uncle would buy him dresses and make him wear them so he'd be a girl and a boy. His uncle always praised him saying that he was the cutest little boy he'd ever seen. Yu-Jin would tell her father what her uncle would say to him but she never told her mother because she knew her mother would never believe that her brother would do something like that to her son. A few months later Yu-Jin's father passed away and Yu-Jin decided to leave the house to get away from her uncle.
