I don't understand these aff users

I don't understand these aff users who ask, "How can I get my story to be featured?", "How can I be a popular author?. Or these who beg, "please upvote my story, I upvote yours too." "Subscribe to my story and then I'll subscribe to yours too." I think darlings, you are here just for fame instead of sharing your stories and improving your writing skills. That's just sad. You know what? Having a lot of subscribers and upvotes do not reflect on how good you write. It still depends on the quality of your story. I hope you guys realize that.

I like having less subscribers if it means that I get more meaningful comments than the average "Update soon" or "I love this chapter! kekeke"

I also think it depends on the reason.

Like Nyaikou said, even though advertising in general can be annoying, if it's for the sake of people reading their favorite OTP and spreading it around, I'm all for it, because I know the pains(I'm a huge IU Stan) and let's face it--these users don't like seeing their oppas with female idols. They'd much rather have their oppas with a stranger that doesn't even exist just so their poor hearts won't ever be broken.

The begging ones are annoying but the ones that are asking - well it depends.

You will have people who will write good or bad stories and are just looking for attention to get people to read their OTP's and not get anything critical out of it just as long as it gets popular.

However, some people who do ask on how to get popular might actually be trying to improve but probably aren't phrasing their question properly. I'm going to advertise my story but ask people when they can to leave constructive critiscm on how my story can get better because I REALLY need it.

But remember that on AFF, it's gonna be about being upvoting and popular never the writing. Not many people on here actually focus on improving their writing skills like you or me. It's mostly to get their OTP more revelance in the fandom.

Yeah exactly! I mean honestly who doesn't love getting new subscribers and new comments? I know I love them but I also know I don't go 'I will only update when I received blah blah blah comments' nor do I flip when I received like almost no subscribers. I'd rather receive an intellectual comment than a 'update soon authornim' kind of comment. To me the second kind of comment is considered as spam lol

Mind if I comment again? Sorry I think your blogs are interesting XD

I really don't like it when authors ask readers to upvote their story either, I mean to me that's not really an author I'd want to subscribe to because I hate to say it, but it feels like they just want to be popular or something.

Fanfiction is supposed to be for fun. I don't get why some people treat it like it's serious business :/ I love getting comments and subbers as much as the next person, who doesn't right? But I do not force people to comment, subscribe or upvote if they don't wish to do so. I just keep on writing is what I do ^^

i totally agree with you.

good authors doesn't ask to be popular, they get discovered and many people recommend blah blah blah so it's actually from your own writing and well, basically, yeah.

i personally think that those 24 subscribers on my ongoing story has a special place in my heart lol. i cherish every of them.

and sure, being popular /may be/ good but don't you get annoyed with all of those "new story comments" and "new subscribers" and those comments are just "update soon, author-nim! <3"

and the advantage of being me = if there's even one story comment i have this fluttering feeling in my heart.

but if it's the popular authors, they'll just sigh and say "well here goes nothing prepare for a flood of 'update soon's."
