I don't think I'm the only one that think this but being a new writer on AFF is hard. To quote DeviLaugh, "AFF is a market. Each author is a company, the fics are products, comments and subs are profits, there is competition between us through advertisement and product updates..." 

It took me a long time to build a name (or "brand" as DeviLaugh would've put it). My first story here didn't have a lot of subs but since it was my first story, I was really excited whenever someone subbed to it. 

I didn't gain much attention until I started BURNED (my KaiSoo fic). I was really surprised when I had 20 subscribers after posting the foreword and first chapter. I've never had that many subscribers before...especially for a story that I've just started. As I updated more, more people began subscribing. I got more comments. Needless to say, I was really happy.

Fast forward a few months later, I now have a loyal fanbase. I have more subscribers...some of them even subscribed to every story of mine. I'm very grateful. To be honest, I'm not that great of a writer. There are dozens of writers on AFF that are better than I am (like purpleskies and jindeul). I admire them for being so amazing and having stories that just spring to life. I wish I can be that amazing; I wish I have that Midas Touch as well...but sadly, I don't. Even so, I write stories because I love to write since it's a hobby of mine.

And to quote DeviLaugh again, "you write for yourself". You write because it makes you happy. If all else fails, just write well. So to all the talented writers out there, don't give up, a diamond in the rough is still a diamond...it might take some time for people to notice you but in the end you will shine. 

Anyway, this post is becoming obnoxiously long. Before I bore you with my speech, I would like to thank all my subscribers. Like I said before, I have about 1,000 subs now so I can't really list everyone. But the people that I mention here are people that either comment a lot or subscribe a lot (basically people that I remember from the top of my head).
