The wonders of science. (bioluminescence)

I LOVE RED TIDE SEASON.

You know why?

It's crazy.

Now imagine having a date on a beach during red tide season.

Sitting at the beach, watching the glow of dinoflagellates as the waves crash...

I think it'd be pretty darn spectacular.

LIKE HOW DO YOU THINK TAO WOULD FEEL. HE'S THE ONE THAT LIKES TO TAKE WALKS ON THE BEACH, RIGHT?

I think he'd like it.

As a surfer, I LOVE IT. The water under your board glows and you carve a trail of light through the water.

So great.

Every year during Red Tide season (excluding last couple of years because of my knee), my dad and I drive down to San Diego and go night surfing.

Sometimes you get rashes from the little dinoflagellate bacteria that causes red tide in the first place, but SOOOO WORTH IT.

Just don't ingest the water, red tide or not. You will get sick.
