Fleeing By Night

I don't really know how people usually start their blogs, but I'd like to talk about the film I just watched. It was touching, sweet, gentle and such a subtle lovestory. and so, sooo tragic...

The title is Fleeing By Night, I'd surely advice you guys to watch it. The film is about a man, Shaodung, who has just returned from America since young age, he's supposedly engaged with his best friend, Ing'er, whom he's been mailing for years. But... fate has it that he falls in love with a man. A special man that is.

He's the headactor of the operaplay, Lin Chung. Shoadung falls in love at first sight, when Lin Chung start singing his part. It doesn't take long for Lin Chung to develop the same feelings. Even though being gay was pretty common (in secret)  in the 1930's, still the people around them do not approve of Shoadung doing something so illicit. Meanwhile he's up against one of the whealtiest people in Tjiang(?), who has also fallen for Liin Chung and even sleeps with him. Lin Chung wants to escape the endless pitts he's fallen into and wants to be with Shoadung. Ing'er tries everything she can to help the two, but as it seems fate has a different route planned... for all of them.

So, I'll be honoust... i cried! Gosh, so terrible, my heart is still aching and it has already been 10 min (Aaargh!). But okay, seriously now, this film is great, the hard paths that Shoadung and Lin Chung cross for wanting to be together is so hard to watch. And meanwhile Ing'er can't help but worry about them, wondering if they're alright (wherever they might be). Somehow, it seems she loves both of them and struggles with this.

God, I love subtle love, it makes me anxious and thrilled!!
