SNSD's I Got A Boy (OPINION/RANT)

 

SNSD has finally released their comeback which fans have been highly anticipating for, including me. And truthfully saying: first I'm a huge SONE and will be 14 in a few days (female), and I'm going to try to fair on my opinion/rant and be truthful.

 

When I first saw the MV I was seriously confused yet hooked to it (I have a thing where if the song may not be good, I will straight away be addicted to it if it's SNSD or any other favourite group of mine). I was actually like 'what the actual ' is with this and all the different sections, but I saw a comment talking about the english lyrics so I went to a MV with english subs. It completely helped me understand the plot of this song, in which was showing like different views of people about a girl changing because of a boy she was in love in. I seriously wanted all the viewers who watched the actual MV (SMtown) to know about the english subs to understand it clearly and not judge about it without knowing, but obviously not everything will go your way and so I just stayed calm while people complained about the song. And seriously when I saw all the dislikes they got, I was pretty sad about it... 

 

But as I said in the beginning I'm going to be fair and express my true opinion about this song. Seriously it wasn't good  but I personally think is better than 'The Boys'. And using songs to express the story instead the MV is pretty risky including adding different views. But I believe that was a pretty awesome idea yet maybe should have worked on a little changes. I also think that for the different views they should have split up the members for the different views, and work more on the drama bit with maybe people gossiping and stuff. Though apparently they are releasing a drama MV version but they should just put it in one, however less of the dance would be shown (kind of the point of the change) so idk about this. One other thing I didn't like was the last section of the song where Jessica said 'Let's bring it back to 140' cos I think they said 'I got a boy' a bit too much, but the vocals of Jessica and Seohyun were very good. Though listening to the song a lot more, the repetitiveness gets less annoying but to viewers who watch it the first time will probably get pissed off P: And with the section where their all where the same wig and outfit (different colours) they just pulled it off like seriously anything more matching or something and it would have looked horrible but personally I didn't really like it at all but it's not that bad so I won't complain that much, however it reminded me of 'Hoot' and maybe would be better if they had different hairstyles. Also another thing is their rapping skills, I'm not an expert in this but I can say it wouldn't really rech the standard of good rapping? but for a fact it sure does sound good to my ears and they can obviously do better than me....and I guess it is hard to suddenly rap when all your time you outlying sung in a song, sudden concept changes are hard to adapt too, but a lot of other kpop groups are affected by this and not only SNSD so yeah P:

 

I seriously feel like one out of million who actually really liked this song because its not that liked much, and when people are probably hating the song and stuff over her  I can't help but sing it during random moments and watch the MV everyday till I will eventually get bored of it. People need to comment if they love this song so I know (: Also some random points, I think the less known or shown, in MV's, members really shone in this MV ( like Sooyoung -known and shown- , Hyoyeon -shown- , Yuri -shown and slightly known?- , Seohyun -known-), not saying they aren't famous but compared to other SNSD's members who are more popular or famous and get shown more in MV's they are liked not as much. Not acting biased but trying to be truthful  and if you still can't believe me, my favourite member is Seobaby :3 Another random point, I ing like most of the costumes like I want all the shirts but seriously i wouldn't match with it and btw Seohyun what the hell are you wearing in the beginning T___T. Really liked Yuri's and Sooyoung's outfits and Sooyoung blue one z kinda outfit made her look like a really attractive farm girl or cleaner lol P: And I wish I could pull off Hyoyeon's and Tiffany's hair colour like wow. Also Sunny's looked quite nice in her pink hair (her blue/green hair is a NO-NO), you viewers probably think I have a weird style fashion now hahahaha. One huge bad thing about Sunny though was (I think it was just me but...) she is seriously wearing too much eyeliner in the beginning (outfit when she had green hair), I think she doesn't need so much. She ain't Baekhyun or anything like my dog (husky) who seriously has eyes that look like like he put on way too much eyeliner not like he can though (I'll show you photos once I'm back home, in like 2-3 weeks?).

 

Overall this is my 'fair'?? but my personal and true opinion on the song, sorry if I repeat myself a lot or have bad grammar or vocab. Also sorry if say stuff that go against stuff that I just said, or even being not understandable at all lo. But try to understand I'm writing on an iPad and just pretty young though please try to understand and it's okay if you hate the song but before you bull about it, please research about the info first and please be respectful. Hope you enjoyed my actual first opinion/rant and taking your time to read ^___^ 

 

P.S will probably write more rants and will you want it to be in my blogs or as stories???? Hahaha ranting is way easier than write stories (:
