Personality:

Sun-Jung is someone that is often called 'easy-going' by others. She loves being close to nature and often goes out during spring and summer time to sit in the gardens nearby, listening to the sounds of the crickets and feeling the light and gentle breeze in her face. She is caring and understanding of others, often putting those she cares and loves for before herself. While she does not shy away from people, she has troubles expressing her inner feelings to others. This, combined with her understanding personality, makes her bottle up her feelings and hides them inside, never saying a word about it.  

She has a fondness for young children, having visited her mother's workplace on several occasions. She often plays with the children during their break and visits whenever she is able to. She always puts a smile on her face, fake or real, and this makes her seem as someone who is easygoing and approachable. 

While she appears that way to people, there is also a side to her that only shows once you are considered a close friend. She seems mature and rational but she can be childish and naive at times. She hates losing and will throw a short, brief fit when she loses. After she is done, she will more often than not, apologize for her behaviour. She also has the curiosity of a child, eager to experience new things and one of those, includes falling in love. She has had crushes before, but she whenever she'd look back, it was not love. Growing up around sappy, romance books, dramas, and movies, she naturally became a romantic. She is eager for the kind of love often described in the stories. She always wanted more excitement in her life. She wanted to be someone out of a story.

❦ No Use Crying Over Split Milk

Childhood:

Sun-Jung's childhood was a little different from the average kids. When she was a young child, she would stay out all day and play. However, as she grew older, she stopped playing around and turned her attention to something else. Normal kids would be running around, playing outside with friends. But Sun-Jung found comfort with something else. Nature. Books. Not those little children's storybooks, but novels. Romance novels. They had always captivated her. Since she was 7 she had begun reading novels in the gardens near her house. And as a result, she lost her friendship with the other children as she withdrew to her books. It was not until she was was 13 when she realised she was alone.

Her love for her books remained strong, but she yearned for the company of others her age, just like what most teenagers would want. So, she hid away her books and started socialising more, gaining new friendships. She still kept reading her books, but just at a lesser degree. They still offer her a form of comfort, and she would read them in her room by her window or out in the gardens where she'd be surrounded by nature. 

Important Events:

Sun-Jung has night blindness, rendering her vulnerable in the dark. As a child, she was once lost while she was out, playing alone in the big gardens near her house. Night fell and she couldn't see a thing, with only the moon as her only source of light. She was scared as it was the first time she was outside alone in the dark. She was eventually found on the same night by her parents, though she gained a fear of the dark from that experience. But other than gaining a fear, she also found something she loved. The moon. It's the only star she can see and remains ever grateful for the light it shone on that night.

Relationship with her: 

Sun-Jung and her mother are very close. She often visits her mother's workplace to help out whenever she can, trying to ease her mother's burden. From her experience with the children, she came to appreciate her mother even more, learning that being a mother is a tough job. Tough, but rewarding.

Relationship with him: 

Sun-Jung and Minho met when they were young teenagers. As both were competitive, this slowly brought them closer together as friends. Minho hated to lose, just like Sun-Jung. They would both compete against each other as often as they could, and this slowly turned into a close friendship. He is one of the few people she considers as her close friend, and they care for each other as though they were siblings. Minho likes to a lot, especially on her childish side but she didn't mind.

Relationship with her:

Minji became friends with Sun-Jung when she enrolled into SM Academy. Sun-Jung was charged with showing Minji around and this led to their friendship as Sun-Jung was one of the first girls she met. Minji had only started attending SM Academy for a few months, but Sun-Jung is already on her way to considering Minji as one of her closer friends.

• During a SHINee concert which Sun-Jung attended to see Key one last time, Key dedicates a song to her after learning that she was there from Minho. She was about to walk out of the stadium quietly when Key saw her and he openly declared that he loved her and the two reunite
