personality:
{ I'm y && I know it! } Shin Yu Han is one hell of an attractive male, and he knows it. He is a determined and strong-willed male that has so much poise and swagger that he could drown himself in it if he wasn't careful. He's outgoing, and loves to socialize -- all aspects that have been boosted by his guaranteed good looks. His ego hardly ever deflates, resulting in his egotistical character. Shin Yu Han, in his own perspective, is the only handsome man out there, and he is the only man that has been blessed by God's creative and gracious hands. Definitely self-centered and arrogant, it's almost hard for Yu Han to make friends, but with his charistmatic charm and y smirk, girls and even th straightest of men cannot resist this handsome devil.

{ I'm still fly! } Yu Han is slightly insecure about himself and has to belittle others to make himself feel better. He is more than judgmental than your average character and has the tendency to speak without thinking and act rashly, but there is a hidden sensitivity that lingers deep within him that makes him near vulnerable. He's uncompromising, dogmatically stubborn, and childish, but those are all characteristics that you can grow accustomed to. And despite the insecurities and dubious doubts that make lurk within him, Yu Han ultimately overcomes it by constantly reminding himself about what he is fortunate enough to have.

{ No limit! I did it myself! } Most would assume not alot of people like Yu Han because of his arrogance and overriding cockiness, but that's not true. He has a lot of admirers for his courage, confidence, and impressive work ethic. Despite it all, the most advantageous thing about Yu Han is that he likes to work. He's a budding workaholic that doesn't stop until he ultimately succeeds. He's the hardest on himself, and doesn't care about what others think about him, just as long as he knows there are still some that admire him. He's a determined person with headstrong qualities that has much motivation and dedication to get things done; he's ambitious, usually works alone and is independent.

background: Yu Han spent his toddler and adolescent years in New York, but moved to South Korea, where his father believed would allow Yu Han to get in touch with his other roots. His family was quaint and dainty; they were civil and almost the role-model family for their community. They weren't particularly rich or wealthy, and it wasn't like they were multi-billionaires, but they were variously envied by their neighboring peers because of how stable their houselife was. Yu Han used to be very fond of his parents, until he decided to come out to them as a gay man shortly after his high school graduation. After that, his father began to neglect him and regard him as a disgraceful child with no morals; and his mother began to love him only out of pity rather than genuine affection. The only relationship that wasn't affected by Yu Han's being gay was the relations between him and his brother Woon-ha, who didn't care for it.

school life: Yu Han attended kindergarten in New York, but was further educated in South Korea. He wasn't necessarily the brightest student. He was more of the popular jock that cracked jokes and spoke obnoxiously to his peers during the lectures. He has always been a Kingka, and will probably forever remain one. He earned grades that barely marked his passing, but he didn't care for that. He was a popular kid with so many friends, not all of them could fit in the small indoor cafeteria. He had girls fawning over him, as well as boys; he even earned decent grades by charming the many female teachers that would try to surretitiously linger around his presence.
However, it was also in high school where Yu Han began to realize that he might be gay. He was especially fond of skinship, and he found himself displaying those intimate gestures mainly around his male friends; he began looking more and more at attractive males rather than females, and even had seemingly been in the boys' locker rooms. It was a pivotal era for Yu Han, during his high school years (especially junior and senior years, where he began to accept his homouality).

music career: His love for music started when he was young; his mother had always kept Yu Han entertained with kid-instruments like the xylophone or tamborine. He grew up with those in mind, always trying to create some kind of music by tapping his fingers on particular surfaces or by banging pots and pans together. His love for music was further broadened when he went to his first music festival with his mother during his middle-school years. He saw various performances, but what intrigued him the most were the rappers. The flow was sensual and almost explicit, but he loved it. He pleaded his mother to go talk to the artists at the reception hall, and when he did, he met one of the last performers; they talked child to man, and soon after, Yu Han was enlightened about the world of art -- how it expressed society's unspoken words, how it relayed the most important, yet most neglected, messages; he fell in love, and he was pursued after that passion shortly after.
The same man recommended that once Yu Han was old enough, he should visit a club; the club consisted of mostly underground musicians, and Yu Han was promised to surely love the music executed there. The teenager visited the said club the second he turned 17. There, he was influenced to improve his own rapping and to create his own mixtapes; he typically creates his own beats and lyrics, as he desires to be original and is ambitious in being number one. He will occasionally dance as well, but it's rare -- he'll only do it if a girl is involved, and that typically results in grinding.

family:
Abeoji-Father | Shin Jung Han | 54 yrs; 09/April | civil engineer | Jung Han had expectations for his son that he did not achieve; he gave up on Yu Han after finding out he wanted to be a musician, but more particularly after finding out about Yu Han's being gay; they're hostile, cold, distant, and particularly austere around one another.
Eomoni-Mother | Diana Stuart Shin (given Korean name: Da-rae) | 50 yrs; 18/Nov. | elementary school English teacher | because of Yu Han's poor relationship with his father, Diana takes the role of a kindly mother to act sympathetic; they're quite close, but it still gets awkward at times.
Dongsaeng-Brother | Shin Woon-ha; William Shin | 17 yrs; 07/Jan. | high school student | they're practically conjoined/attached at the waist; they know each other inside and out, and Yu Han tries his best to keep Woon-ha happy and upbeat, in spite of the pressure their father lays upon him.

best friends:
Park Hyung Seok | 20 yrs; 28/Feb. | Aboki model; university student | they initially met through school, as they both attended the same university, but they never talked so they truly met through work (modeling for Aboki) | they're like brothers; they tease each other often and are particularly close; can confide each other with anything.

friends:
Lee Chi Hoon | 24 yrs; 30/April | Aboki model | they met through work | it's like a like-hate relationship; they bully each other and pick on one another but it's always in a joking matter so their peers know they're not seriously demeaning each other.
Jung Joon Young | 23 yrs; 21/Feb. | Aboki model, indie band vocalist/guitaris | he was a sunbae to Yu Han during high school and was a mentor for Yu Han while they were on the high school's basketball team | they're not as close, but they're still civil with one another; polite, almost awkward, but still respectful.

rival:
Lee Howon aka Hoya | 21 yrs; 28/March | Infinite's dancer and rapper; idol | they went to the same high school | the rivalry was prompted in high school; they were a year apart, but still Kingka's -- they both fought and competed for the attention, battling against one another to see who truly had the most fangirls, etc; and then, they both got accepted into Woolim, and were prompted to compete for the last spot to debut in the upcoming boy band Infinite. Unexpectedly, Hoya beat Yu Han and took the final spot, instantaneously crushing the elder's ego; after, Yu Han requested a transfer to be away from Hoya, and was granted, therefore being moved to Stardrom Ent.

{ l o v e l i f e }

experience: Yu Han tried to date another man once. It took him a while to accept his homouality, but once he did, he tried to date a boy named Song Biho during university. It didn't work out as he was awkward, and his boyfriend had already had several lovers in the past. He was stiff around his so-called lover, and refused to kiss him. This led Biho to grow impatient, and he was later prompted to force Yu Han into a kiss. It was traumatizing for Yu Han, as it was his first ever relationship with a man. He vowed to never date after that, thinking all his future boyfriends would force him into intimate relations as well. And though he still knew he liked boys, he tried to stray away from relationships, in fear of being pushed further than desired and in fear of the public society's view on him.

thoughts: Love is just something to keep you company. It's not necessary, but it's pretty significant. Yu Han believes it is what ultimately keeps a person sane. To have someone to be there by your side to keep you stranded to reality and to love you when no one else does is an incredible feat that Yu Han, one day, hopes to experience as well.

ideal type: Yu Han wants someone that is his severe opposite. He desires someone mature, patient, and reserved. Mainly because of his childish and impatient characteristics, Yu Han wants somebody that has the patience to deal with his immature antics; somebody who is mature enough to keep Yu Han grounded; someone who is reserved and is conservative so that they aren't reprimanded or criticized too often by peers. Yu Han wants someone that is also understanding, someone that is ambitious and virtuous, and someone that knows what he's doing; basically, Yu Han is looking for a lover that will help guide him through life.

uality: Gay. He came out after senior year graduation; his friends couldn't care less, as Hyung Seok and Chi Hoon were biuals themselves, but it was definitely a different story with his family. His father condemned him for being such a sinful person and for thinking such immoral thoughts. He was later diregarded and tossed away by his father, who swore never to love him anymore. His mother pitied him and tried to sympathize, but her love was definitely out of fear and pity -- something Yu Han hated, and something that his mother constantly denied. His brother, Woon-ha, was the only one that didn't care for his uality, and continued to admire Yu Han as an older brother for his determined nature and courage, as well as his confidence and self-respect.

{ o n s t a g e }

stage name: Yui (yoo-ee | a play on the first part of his name; it was what was given to him by the fans, for they began to chant this at the boys' later performances; fanboards claim that this nickname is cuter and suits him better than 'boring old Yu Han')
persona: King of Hearts (because of his playboy-like/charming demeanor)
position:

  • { } main rapper, vocalist
  • {one} lead rapper, visual
  • {four} main dancer, sub-vocalist
  • {two} lead dancer, rapper
  • {three} main vocalist, face
  • {five} lead vocalist, sub-dancer

fanclub name: Queen of Hearts
fanclub color: Burgundy (
#990000)

trainee years: 3 years with company; becomes 4 years if you add previous year as underground performer
transferred?: yes; from Woolim to Stardom
trainee background:  Surprisingly, moving to Stardom was beneficial. He got along easier with the trainees there and the work load was tougher, but more advantageous. Moving to Stardom made him more successful in his training fields and he improved in his work ethic. The staff was kinder at Stardom and paid specific attention to all trainees rather than favored ones like at Woolim. Yu Han was serious about his training and was often praised for it; he worked late into the hours of the night and rose in the early mornings just to train, in spite of his wretched hatred for early hours. He was often recognized by instructors because of his improvement. He never really started with natural raw talent and wasn't gifted in everything, but with his hard work and determination, he was awarded with his current position in the band.

weakness: { put a 'x' at his weak points! }

  • {x} singing
  • {x} dancing
  • { } rapping
  • {x} acting
  • { } modeling
  • {x} talking (only if it's ad-lib; he's okay at scripted speech)

comments: Woah, hey! Your story seems nice, haha! Please forgive me if the descriptions are lengthy and seem run-on; it's my first time applying as a guy, so I'm kinda iffy and nervous about it. I tried to bold the important stuff haha! Please enjoy and feel free to edit the app or tell me what I need to fix. Thank you!

suggestions: Hm.. since the band is 'warrior'.. the fans should be something simlar! Maybe heroes, champions, troopers? I also like the term legionairre. Sounds fancy, ahha! Just some suggestions -w-

requests: Definitely Strong Heart. I love that show -w- OH! And maybe if you could somehow incorporate a scene where Yu Han is caught staring too long at his love interest? Oh that would be cute -w- Thanks, haha!
