Changhyun was a born as a mistake. His parents were just teenagers when his mother had gotten pregnant, causing them to be disowned by their proud parents. However, Changhyun had proved to be gift and was raised carefully with extra care. His father worked as a factory worker, and back then, factory workers were looked down upon. Therefore, he became a loner at school for his parent's low status. During his middle school years, he had gotten into fights and was bullied by a group of kids who thought that Changhyun would always become a loner. When he reached high school, his life had changed.
His father finally had enough money to open a barber shop. In a blink of an eye, the barber shop became a huge hit and was swarmed with poeple wanting a fancy look. Changhyun was then admired and praised by others, who thought that Changhyun would follow his father's foot steps. Once Changhyun made enough friends in high school, he was then neglected by his parents, who continued to work their hardest at the shop. Changhyun studied well, but his blunt and slow aurora caused people to have trouble approaching him.
At the day of Changhyun's graduation, he was then invited by a stranger to audition for Starship Entertainment for his looks. His father was very supportive, knowing the value of working hard for a dream. However, his mother who against Changhyun's desire to become an idol. believing that he had no chance to shine. With this, Changhyun convinced himself that idol life was nothing and planned on not going to audition. On the night when he was supposed to leave for Seoul, his father had secretly crept into his room and gave him a cash of money to start his dream. From this day, Changhyun's main phrase became, "Work your hardest; dreams can always be touched with effort and hope."
During his trainee at Starship, he worked his fullest to accomplish being the "perfect idol." When he went to a Big Bang concert (it was for a little field trip) and met G-Dragon, he was offered a chance to leave an impression. His unique voice surprised G-Dragon, and the famous idol suggested Changhyun to visit YG Entertainment for an audition. With this in mind, Changhyun went to YG for an audition and impressed the judge fairly enough to become a trainee at YG.

Changhyun, raised with loving parents but no friends, is a man who will be attatched easily to anyone close to him. Since he had no friends during his elementary years, he spent most of his time studying for school and examining other guys play soccer and such. At school, he was a anti-social boy who could hardly speak in fear of saying something wrong. Since he only had his parents to talk to, he would always follow them and would cry when he was ignored or left alone. Thus, he was spoiled with affection and attention, and would never let his mother out of his sight (his father was an exception because he went to work).
When Changhyun became a high schooler, he enjoyed the attention from his fellow peers. However, he was unable to approach them since he spent most of his middle school and elementary years being lonely and quiet. When his parents neglected him for their jobs, Changhyun became especially lonely and surrounded himself with "friends." Because of this, Changhyun is easily fooled to be friends with others and finds it harder to detach himself from others. If he is betrayed by people, he will feel terribly upset and give the cold, unapproachable aurora.

trainee history:
As previously stated, Changhyun took a train to Seoul and was invited to audition at Starship Entertainment. He had sung "A Goose's Dream" by Insooni, impressing many judges with his emotional voice. In a few days, Changhyun was accepted, but didn't want to burden the company by renting a dorm.
When he was accepted, he rented an apartment nearby and worked at a market to support himself. He often skipped classes to attend vocal, dance, and model lessons, lagging behind his studies. Since his family was back at Miryang, Changhyun had a difficult time making money and surviving in Seoul on his own. His father would send in a few cash each month, but he still had to make more to support himself. When Changhyun finally realized that he could not balance school and work, he hesitated whether or not he should continue dreaming anymore.
As a trainee, Changhyun was able to go to a Big Bang concert as a field trip and was able to impress G-Dragon with his private vocal performance. It was suggested by G-Dragon for Changhyun to audition at YG, which he ended up doing. The judges at YG believed that they can fix Changhyun up and prepare him to debut, so they accepted him after much debation. When Changhyun was accepted to YG as a trainee, he was even more pressured in trying to balance out his schedule. Nevertheless, since he made it into one of the three top entertainment companies, he decided to push on and work harder.
