I Hit 10 Years With AFF Back In November, But Here's Why I Haven't Been Writing Since Then

I've always wanted to make a blog post with a long title, so there it is. This is just basically me rambling, so yeah, skip to the last paragraph if you want the summary.

If you're one of my readers, you would know that I post updates once a month. If you've seen my on-going stories, however, you will notice that they haven't been updated in more than a month. After graduating college in the middle of the pandemic, I decided to put off writing fanfics and focused on finding a job. I expected that my break from writing fanfics wouldn't take too long (besides, I was heading towards my 10th anniversary here on AFF, so I figured that I could give myself a few weeks of break), but it took a whole six months before I finally got a job offer! I am very fortunate and am loving my job so far, but at the same time it's taking me a while for me to get used to it because it's my first full-time job out of college.

I'm hoping that I can get back to updating mid-late February, but that all depends on how well and quickly I'll be able to handle the projects because they're starting to pile up and it's making me a bit nervous, especially since I'm working in a field that I'm unfamiliar with.

During the time I was taking my break from AFF, I thought a lot about what I'm going to do on this site. I've been writing for ten years and I still have some of ideas. Writing fanfics has definitely become a hobby for me at this point. A part of me wants to be irresponsible and just publish all the story ideas I have, while another part of me knows that doing so will be a total mess, hahaha~

Honestly, I never thought that I was going to write stories here for ten years. I always imagine stopping after I got into high school, but I just kept writing because I had this drive to share my stories on this site. Without this site, I honestly don't know where I would be because writing here has shaped me so much into who I am today. I know people will think this whole message is cheesy and all, but I'm seriously grateful for my readers and especially to those who took their time commenting on my stories.

Comparing my first fanfic to my most recent one, I can see and feel the improvement. It's honestly amazing. To any writers out there, I highly recommend saving your first story because you will see the difference and it's so motivating to see how much you improved.

I've been re-writing this blog post ever since November, but I didn't want to post it then because I didn't feel confident to post something like this when I was jobless and literally doing nothing with my life. Now that I've straightened out my life a bit, I feel a bit better writing this blog. Who knows, maybe I'll blog more often. It's been years since I've made a blog post. I'm hoping I can be more active now that I got school out of the way, but who knows!

Anyways, to summarize: I hit 10 years back in November; I haven't been writing because I wanted to find a job first; I found a job and now I'll hopefully start again in mid-late February; and thank you for supporting me throughout the 10 years and (hopefully) the upcoming years!

Omggg!! It’s been 9 years for me!!! Holy I can’t believe it’s almost been 10 years since I started reading fanfics. And to top it all off my first fanfic was Oppas’ Little Girl (saw my classmate reading it and she recommend it to me). Congratulations on your new job and I’m glad you’re continuing on writing fanfics after so many years. Love you xo
