Life isn't easy. We know that for a fact. People face different struggles everyday of their life whether it be with their health, finances, relationships etc.

People can easily assume that the reason bad things happen to them is for the fact they feel they deserve only destruction. But I don't feel that's the case.

Whether or not you believe in God there is three things about life that is definite. You die, you pay taxes and you have lessons to learn. Some people are slower than others at learning so the same mistake is repeated over and over again until they get it. For others the lesson just has to be taught once.

But everyone's different. What I struggle in may be a strength for someone else and what may be a blessing in my life right now is bringing trouble to someone else.

We will make mistakes, these mistakes will hurt ourselves if not others. But it's not about the impact of the mistakes. It's about whether or not we learned something from it.

So from any struggles you're facing right now I suggest (as well as myself) that we ask ourselves a few questions to try and get some clarity:

• Why did this happen?
• How did it happen?
• What can I do in my part to try and make things better?
• What is the lesson I've learned from this?

If I can give an example. For me after that one dating experience I know it happened because things got serious too soon and because if I didn't learn the truth when I did then things could have gotten messy. I can't do anything to fix our relationship since I cut ties with him but I can forgive him and myself for letting it happen. And I've learned that the next time I date I can't allow myself to get close to the guy so soon. There is someone out there who will treat me right. I may not meet him today but he's out there and that's a guarantee.
