Yoseob: The First Collage

I've kept my silence on this long enough. Time to speak, talk, rant, huff, puff, squeal, and all sorts of sound emitting actions now.

Now, as some (or all) of you may know, Yang Yo Motha-Fckin Seob has released a solo mini-album. Produced by Junhyung. That's basically Yoseob's delicious, heaven voice for five tracks.... all with Junhyung influence. Now, if I do say so myself, Junhyung is a man of excellence (for what this definition of excellence is I have not a clue, but he is nevertheless) and his touch is gold.

Okay, perhaps I'm exaggerating a bit. Let's back track.

YANG YOSEOB OF BEAST HAS RELEASED A MINI ALBUM PRODUCED BY YONG JUNHYUNG OF BEAST.

And it's amazing.

Oh you bet your knickers it's amazing.

And here's why:

As a rather blindly dedicated B2uty and Yeobo/Yeoreo/Yoseobite/Whatever-the-hell-we're-called, there's no doubt I would've loved this album. This is a review of the album. A biased review. Hardly a review. More like space for me to place my fangasm thoughts out. But may it be entertaining.

Let's focus at point numero uno:  Catching wind of this solo debut.

Now, saesangs, begone. For I'm sure, if for whatever method, they knew about this somehow. Even if just in the slightest. Because they're stalkers and they know quite a bit too much. So perhaps saesangs were watching the jacket shoot through the air vents. I don't know. Moving on.

Cue: "Now that you know, I have to kill you."

I'd say during the Third Anniversary Live Streaming is when the first hint was dropped. Emphasize to Yoseob's Year and a surprise for us fans. If you didn't watch it, here's the video on youtube with English subs. Do mind it's half an hour and I'm only posting part one.

Additionally, there was all that teasing from Junhyung and President Hong and I fail to remember if Prepix's tweets were before or after the official announcement... probably after.

Point two: I don't really know what point two is. But before I get into the actual music of the album, let's look at pretty pictures of Yoseob!!!

No, not actually in this blog post. Dear Shisus, that would clutter this so much.

Here's a facebook photo album from a fanpage.

And if you wish to stay on AFF, you can go one of my friend's blogs.

Yay for charming photos of Yoseob!!!

Do you have them all saved on your computer? I DO.

Hahahahah.... I'm not crazy, I'm a fangirl.

Point three: The actual music

Now I have not a hint of knowledge in music... Okay, I probably a bit but not enough to correctly review this as a critic would. So let's do this.... Fangirl style.

Starting with "Look At Me Now":

When I first started listening to this, I just nearly fainted.

Yoseob's "Baby, look at me now. Look at me now!" are enticing and upbeat and happy and fun. The rest of the song is also like this. I love it when he keeps singing "Noooooooooooow. Noooow-ooooow-oooow."

As far as I know, noone has subbed videos of all the songs yet so here's a twitlonger of the English translations.

Basically, the song is about being... friendzoned and (demanding to) get out of it. The song is fairly repetitive be it makes it catchy.

"Caffeine" Our title track and featuring YONG JUNHYUNG

So we get the soundbite from the teaser of Yoseob (or some intern) making coffee grinding sounds.

Afterwards... Y YOSEOB TALK RAPPING. I like it when Hyuna rap-talks. I like Hyuna; she's nice. Now, I love it when Yoseob raps of any kind. I love Yoseob. So obviously, my brain stopped functioning for those first 40 seconds. Need not worry, I kept replaying it until my silly brain could comprehend the chocolate fountain.

Then we have velvety lines (it's just the translation. The TwitLonger. No fear for mal-links) sung by a velvety voice. Okay.... not exactly velvety lines...

"You're like caffeine, you're bad to me"

"then suddenly end up hating you"

"Every time I breathe I miss you"

"When I realize that we are under the same sky, I go crazy"

Um.... real.... flattering.

BUT, Junhyung's rap. Eh? Yeah? His voice is niiiiice too. Junseob duet! Can we hear "Thanks To"?

"Just Do As you Always Did" - "Keep Doing What You Do" - Every Other Alternate Translation

Now the tone of this song just... screams Christmas to me. You've got those tingling bells and busy street sounds at the beginning. And then Infinite's "White Confession" starts playing... LOLNO. But you get what I'm saying, right? Chriiiiistmas.

But the lyrics are not really... Christmas-y. Two people.... saying good-bye. How... sad.

WHY SO SAD, YOSEOB?

Don't be sad, baby...... lots of good emotion in the song though.

I don't have much to say about this other than that.

"Even Then, I"

This song... I can't get enough of it but at the same time I don't want it. Like a puppy you like kicking. BAD METAPHOR. BAD METAPHOR.

I think I would love listening to this after a break up... drinking hot chocolate by the windowsill. At 5 pm in fall. Why? I don't know, sets the mood.

Love the the saxophone. Compliments him and the song well, very weeell.

Now, pay attention at 2:03.... "Touch of your skin is so real" WELL YOU SURE KNOW HOW TO SWEET TALK A LADY HUH SEOBBIE? HUUUH.

Gawd... He just sounds so [censored for inappropriate content trolol],

"You Don't Know"

This may just be my favorite track.

Not only does it sound happy and light.... but it is happy and light. FOR ONCE.

Infinite's "Amazing", Teen Top's "Don't Spray Perfume", and about hundreds of other songs. All sound upbeat, cheerful, and nice but.... are about break-ups and cheating. Oh... no mixed signals at all.

Also, in this song, I love his "YEAH YEAH YEAH. YEEEAH YEAH YEAH." So... nice. I don't know. Maybe it's a fangirl thing.

TwitLonger of Lyrics

Well, that just about does it. But I swear one of these songs has his voice lifting up a note and I forget which one. One day I'll hear it again and probably not come back to edit this.

I'm going to have to cut this off short because instead of doing a project... I typed this. Oh well.

And it's past midnight.

But a final thing....

NO FOOTNOTES?

This is an example of how lazy I was during this blog. No footnotes. I love footnotes. I live on them.

And.... one last thing.

THE MV IS OUT ON THE 28TH.

THAT IS SOON.
