First Impression is The Last (really?)

So, I've been reading some really well 'How to Write' guidelines, and to emphasize how good those guidelines had been, I'll do this:

REALLY GOOD

No seriously, I've just realized how noob I was for not finding these earlier. Before I proceed to my rant, I'd like to congratulate these people for their amazing tips to guide beginners like me. The tips that I read were, Writing: Thoughts and Tips and How to be an AFF Writing God. One particular chapter of Writing: Thoughts and Tips caught my attention. Go check it, if you want to. However, to those whom have read it a looooooooooooong time ago, excuse my non-social life.

My rant however, have nothing at all to do with the main purpose of the said chapter though of course, it have some sort of relevancy to it (if not, this blog would have not been posted in the first place).

Firstly, let me list some of the impressions we AFF writers would continuously come across when we clicked the respective fictions of our likings.

| 001) Onew and his passion for chicken.

| 002) Woohyun being all cheesy and greasy with words.

|003) Myungsoo/L is your cold, good-looking character with those badass features but girls still swoon over   him.

|004) Key, a diva.

|005) Hyuna, the bossy .

|006) Daehyun, the mysterious masked ninja (lolwut?)

|007) Youngjae always has fatigue for his baby fats/fatness.

|008) Sungyeol the choding who have yet learn to grow up.

|009) Others whom by now I’m sure whoever read this blog would be able to list tons and tons of them.

Let me remind you again, this blog is not about stereotypes/clichés/typical/something similar. It’s about first impression, and to not confuse you, I’ll type this clearly.

FIRST IMPRESSION

Definition: a first impression is the event when one person first encounters another person and forms a mental image of that person. It can sometimes form an accurate representation of the person, depending on the observer and the person being observed.

Okay, first thing first, I know the characteristics I’ve wrote is not, by any means my first impression of these idols. It is something I got after watching variety shows and learning about them more as I google things. It is however, the impression I got after I first joined AFF and read fanfictions. I’ve started as a Shawol and turned into an Inspirit, and transformed into a Baby (no bashing on my disloyalty okay, it’s not my fault, they are just so tempting). Throughout those period of time, I’ve read tons of fanfics and not pointing fingers at anyone, but all of the idols in those fics have similar traits (mine has too, don’t worry).

To me, those occasions happened when I read a fanfic, and came across a trait, a really perceptible one and you can detect those in variety shows of your idols and decided, ‘hey, I’m going to use this trait as well!’

I do believe that these occasions happened when one writer read, and get hooked to what his/her think that is attractive. So my question is, Is First Impression Really is the Last?

Let's just admit it okay? All of us write those things and in some cases, some author didn't really bother to put other traits and developments in their characters. Again the question surfaces, is the first impression really is the last one?

So, I'll leave this blog hanging there because as I write through this entry, my focus subsided and I realized there is no real further explanation of this question (I know, bad author).

Till then,
