 Hae Min is a skinny girl standing 156 cm tall and weighing 43 kg. Although, she is overall quite underweight, her invisible amount of face fat seems to trouble her incessantly and as a result, she keeps her hair long and most of the time open, so that it makes her face look smaller and narrower. She avoids having her hair falling on her forehead because she has a small forehead. Her hair usually falls straight and flat but during some nice and lucky mornings, she manages to have the messy bed hair. She does not make any concerted efforts to style her hair.

     She prefers to be donned in jeans and full sleeve t-shirts, no matter which season or weather. She is quite conservative with her dressing. Her skinny figure allows her to wear body-hugging clothes without worrying about any flab problems. She has a little for high heels because it gives her confidence boost up. She does not like pale or light colours. Instead, she goes for solid but prominent colours like black, royal blue, dark grey, etc. She does not like accessories since she considers them useless and prefers to carry a huge tote to stuff everything inside it. She hates wearing socks because it makes her feet itch and develops in her an incessant urge to wriggle her toes.

What people see

She is the girl with the penetrating eyes who prefers keeping shut to jabbering away in glory. It is difficult to get close to her since it seems that she has created this invisible wall around her, which no one is allowed to enter or take a peep into. If one asks her, a question and more often than not one would get a one-word answer. There is nothing imaginative or otherworldly about her, Rather with her brilliant calculating skills and a lightning fast brain, one would perceive her to be cold, logical and strategic. She is the girl who works at the Cat Cafe but cringes at the sight of a cat passing by. While the other girls cuddle those soft balls of fur she looks at them with a disinterested and detached expression. However silent usually, she is the first one to speak up if there is a brawl or a customer is dissatisfied. One can almost see an attempt to deliver poetic justice, where the world can be divided into the black and white. But it is not that she is oblivious to greys, in fact she seems more aware of them than most realists and manages to solve problems. She smiles rarely but when she does, it is dazzling.

          She has an air of mystery about her and it is extremely difficult to unravel this complicated a mystery. No one knows about her likes and dislikes. She looks indifferent to everything. Her gait and her sight are like that of a feline. She looks unattainable and a difficult challenge. One cannot help but notice a strong streak of feminist in her now and then. She exudes independence, determination and an attitude which people will not like messing with. What she failed to exude is warmth and tenderness, animation and joviality.

What people do not see

She is the girl who likes staring at people and creating stories about them. Her mind is forever in a flurry of activities, activities involving imagination. She does not like speaking because one, she finds it futile to talk with people with lower intellect and two, she is the epitome of shyness. Despite her confident and sophisticated exterior, there lies a female beneath that outer covering who is insecure and forever questioning her decisions. She knows her gaze makes people feel uncomfortable and intimidated. While in the Cafe she rarely smiles but with her close ones she is the one who cracks the silliest jokes and laughs like a maniac. She deliberately refuses to show this gentler, more humane side to people simply because she believes only her loved ones to be deserving of that side. Her allergy to cats is one thing she hates more than her emotionless eyes and her face fat. These are the creatures she found, most intriguing and they are the ones she has to observe from a distance. Cats are not just animals to her. She believed that cats were she in an animal form.

She is extremely emotional and sensitive. Little things get to her. The only area, which she shows her true self publicly, is if someone is being wronged. Her strong sense of justice and conscience prevents her from ignoring such blatant defaults. She is not someone with a caustic tongue or sarcastic wit as most people think but she is hauntingly kind and gentle. However, to get on her good side one has to be only one thing- Deserving. She does not believe her kind or gentle side to be weak but too special to be put on public display. 

Her allergy to cat has the following symptoms which only occurs if she comes to close, physical contact with a cat-

       Likes: 

• Loves reading books of any sort but preferrebly romance. In books she finds her own world and manages to create a character she wants to be. She loves the fact that books allow her the liberty to be chirpy and bubbly in one chapter and dark and evil in some other chapter. This kind of oscillation attracts her since her real life she is confined to being quiet and distant which suffocates her imagination.

• Likes collecting cat soft toys and dvds centered on cats. She considers this as the only way of having any sort of physical interaction with the cats, thanks to her allergy.

• Loves fish to the point of it being any obsession. Although, not a huge eater, any food item which has even the slightest hint of fish teases her senses and she is bound to gobble it down without any hesistation. She likes both sea fish and river water fish but if given a choice she would go with sea fish. 

• Loves and adore kids. However, just as in the case of cats she cannot go close to them not because she is allergic but because babies don't particularly like her, tending to cry whenever she comes to cuddle them.

• Loves drinking Tea to Coffee, especially if it is made of Darjeeling leaves.

• Loves the rain but dislikes getting drenched in it. She find it extremely peaceful and sometimes lonely, to find the rain beat against a window.

• Likes being pat on the head. However, that privilege is only reseved for her elder sister and best friend.

         Dislikes: 

• Cannot handle spicy food. At all.

• Hates liars and hypocrites.

• Dislikes extroverts because she is jealous of their ability to speak their mind openly. Infront of them, her intovert side seems more prominent than ever

• Hate bright and neon colours.

• Dogs- because she has been scared of them ever since she had tried to pet one when she was four amd the dog had chased her.

• Heights- She feels nauseated when she is at a high place inculding bridges. It is not because she is afraid she'll fall off but she is afraid of her desire to jump off it.

       Hobbies: 

• Singing. Singing is the only time her character as a young, jovial spirit blossoms out. It's again one of the means for her to transport herself in the world of her choice.

• Writing. Again, one of her escapist strategies to get out from the real world and live in a world of her choice. Also she finds it difficult to express her emotions verbally but they seem to flow beautifully when she pens it down.

      Habits: 

• She stares at people, unblinkingly, often entering into staring competitions without intending to.

• Has a tendency of her collar bone when in deep thought.

• Always fluffs pillow no matter how fluffy they are, before going to sleep.

       Trivia: 

• Since she is allergic to cats, she does not own any. However, her favourite cat soft toy is Nasga. She talks her heart out to Nasga.

Tell Me Your Story.

Background: Born on 8th November, 1994, Kim Hae Min has had quite a nice and luxurious life before her father passed away due to leukaemia and after that her secured life fell apart. It began with the business closing down, falling and clearing debts, which led to the selling of their house. Her mom had to take up a job as a manager in a Travel Agency company and later, after her elder sister entered college her mom set up her own Travel Agency. She had been only six when this major upheaval had taken place and she was, as a result, expected to grow up early. She has had suppressed several of her desires including her wish to major in Music and Art because according to her mother, she had to take up a course which would give her quick employment. That led her to take up Law in Seoul University after she graduated from high school.

She had always been a brilliant kid with an IQ of 126 and scoring in class during her schooling period was not a problem. However, what was a problem was her mother's constant reminder of their desperate condition, and how she could not spend anytime enjoying life like other kids. Her elder sister has been a strong pillar of support to her throughout, sacrificing double the amount of enjoyment for her. She knew that her sister being the elder one had more burdens to shoulder than anyone else did and that is why she refrained from making any frivolous demands. Her mother was not unfeeling or cruel but was a realist. However, that did not work for her since she was a thinker. Her tough life had taught her to take pleasure in the little joys of life, like the first fallen leaf of autumn, the cherry blossom festival, the fireworks and cats...

Her relationship with cats dated from the time her father had been alive. Her father had bought a little kitten as a present for her on her third birthday and the kitten's melting brown eyes had taken her heart away there and then. However, it was not long before the itches, sneezes, rashes had started appearing, and her parents were forced to give the kitten away. In the little time that she did spend with her, she had grown a strong bond with her and she was torn when she was taken away from her. She cursed herself for being weak and sickly. Her parents seeing her volatile reaction to the separation had gifted her substitute kitten in the form of a soft toy. And that was the beginning of the tradition. On that birthday and every other birthday that came by even after her father’s death she was gifted a cat soft toy. She treasured Nasga the most since it was the first soft toy and the one resembling the original kitty the most. To cure her disease, she had taken medicines but their effect was temporary so she stopped taking them altogether.

With her sister, she shares what she calls the 'bond of silence'. They never really had to talk to each other to know what the other was feeling, their eyes communicated it all. Her sister was doing Master's in Business Studies in Seoul University after her under graduation. She had met Seohyun within the college campus, during a seminar on music. She was instantly attracted to her because she was Music student and because she seemed to understand her almost like her sister. Seohyun was also in love with cats. In fact, Seohyun had suggested her to get a job at the Cat Cafe. She had been on the lookout for a job from the moment she had entered college because like her sister, w ho worked part time as receptionist at an MNC, she also wanted to work part time and earn some money to support her family financially. She had thought this Cafe would be the best option for her but she did not know she had to deal with real cats in the Cafe. However, the owner was sympathetic towards her, not because of her story but because of her striking feline features and interests and employed her. She works at the cash register and her brain works faster than any available calculator does .
