I just finished reading 48 hours, and needless to say, I am rather confused.

In case some of you haven't heard of it, it's a horror-angst-psychological fic originally written in Chinese by 辛辛息息. You can find the English translation on lukais.livejournal.com.

Okay, now leave if you don't want spoilers.

I understand why everyone thought this was super sad, but it didn't really make me cry or anything. Personally, I liked the original Chinese version a lot more. Unfortunately, my Chinese is pretty horrible, so I read bits of the Chinese version when the translation was confusing. 

This quote killed me.

他淡淡地问我，＂你什么时候杀我。＂ 轻轻向他的脸侧，我在他的耳边沙哑地说，＂现在。＂

If you can't read Chinese, it's the scene in which Lay asks Kris when he's going to kill him. 

To be honest, this was a lot stronger in the Chinese version, but translations are seldom satisfactory (due to numerous discontinuities between languages).

Anywhoo, I seriously don't get the whole deal with the scorpion. So...there's a scorpion. Who drew it? And it's not like an illustration of a scorpion can poison a cup, right? I was too lazy to dig through the original Chinese to look for the answer.

I don't get the team thing either. Why were Tao and Luhan so butthurt over the arrangements? Why does the author say that the team arrangements were important?

Also, there's the scene with Luhan, Kris, and the lighter. I can't find that scene. Can somebody tell me which chapter it was in? I might have skimmed over it.

And Chanyeol's death. I didn't get it at all. The whole "brother, you hit me" thing was sad and all, but seriously. Why the hell did Kris kill him...? Because he was Korean, and on the other team? Or was it an accident? All I've figured out is that he hit Chanyeol, squished him into a closet, and stabbed him.

Lastly, the plastic rope. Um. What was that supposed to be for? (Apart from killing Baekhyun, I'm pretty sure there's more to it.)
