I Need Ideas!

Okay, so in one of my classes, we're gonna be writing our own book. The book can be about whatever we want it to be about, it can have made up characters, you can make up your own world, it can be based off of a real conversation that you had or overheard, it could be about something you've read, but changed up the idea a little, etc. Basically, you can write about anything!

My problem is, that I have NO idea what I'm going to write about. Seriously, I have no inspiration. At all.

Do you guys think you can help me out? You can either give me an idea, or share a great way to get inspiration to write, anything that can help me, really.

There are some caveats, though:

If you want to give me an idea, it has to be an idea that can easily be extended on. My goal is at least 10,000 words (Yes, not a lot, but still) but if it's possible, I actually want to shoot for 20,000 words. I don't want the story to be boring, it has to be interesting.

Any literary genre is fine, but I prefer if it was not romance, though. Not romance.

I would prefer it to be realistic fiction. I don't write very well when the book's fantasy, or anything like that....

No cliché ideas, please. XD I don't do cliché. And no cheesiness~

I would not like an overused or typical idea. I want something creative, but not too "out of this world."

There has to be some kind of twist. Again, interesting is good. There doesn't necessarily have to be an antagonist (I think). But definitely something that will want to keep people reading.

One of the most important things: Keep it PG-13! I'm only twelve, so I'm in 7th grade, and my teacher says that it's okay to use profanity if it's to enhance a character's personality or to push the book forward. I can't use profanity for no reason. But it has to be school appropriate, and PG-13.

I think that's it. I hope you guys can help me~ Again, you do not have to give me a specific idea, but you can just give me your best form of inspiration and I will try to look into it. Thanks in advance~ ^^

We had to something similar to do this English class, and I chose to write a somewhat dark story in a sense. It really depends on what kind of writer you are, but I know that I love to grab the reader's heart and just wrench it really hard, so I chose to write a slight horror, angsty story.
Remember that quantity isn't the key in writing a story - it's the quality of it. I wouldn't recommend a story more than 5000 words unless you are certain that you can extend your idea out to match the word limit.
I recommend that you start a brainstorm or mind map of some sort. Write down your strengths and weaknesses in writing, then decide whether you're going to enforce on the strengths or work on the weaknesses.
If you ever need inspiration, you can find the story that I wrote for English (which is fairly short and straight forward due to the word limit of 1000 words) here:

(Note that I didn't write the story originally in Jonghyun's point of view. I just felt that it was 'ASIANfanfics' after all, so I changed it to match it.)
Hope I helped :P Feel free to ask if I didn't sound clear in some bits.
