642 Things To Write About ~ #4

The worst Thanksgiving dish you ever had

Onew was met with a warm embrace from his mom as he removed his shoes upon entering his house. The other SHINee members followed him humbly and removed their shoes, bowing to Onew's other relatives.

"Oh my baby! He's back! How have you been honey? Have you been eating well?" Onew's mom asked with overwhelming concern, but also happiness for seeing her son again.

Onew laughed, "Ne omma. Everything's been fine. Even Key hasn't been complaining as much lately." Onew pointed towards the other members.

"Oh Key!" Onew's mom seemed to notice the other SHINee members for the first time since they arrived. "It's so good to see you all. Feel free to rest as much as you like here since you all work so hard all the time."

"Ne!" SHINee responded promptly.

"Very well, why don't you all put your luggage in the guest rooms while we finish preparing the meal." Onew's mom overflowed with warmth and kindness while she led them off to their rooms.

"YES! This is going to be the best ever! Free food, lots of sleep, and we're still altogether." Taemin beamed excitedly at the rest of them.

"Yeah, but remember to clean up after yourself Taemin." Key said sternly while laying down the blankets for his bed.

"Ne, Key-Umma." Taemin joked sarcastically.

"You're right. This is going to be awesome, especially the food." Jonghyun murmured pensively.

Onew suddenly turned white.

"What's wrong?" Minho asked, patting Onew's shoulder.

"Uhh, nothing. Just that... well..."

"What?"

Onew lowered his voice, "Well. My mom's cooking isn't very good."

Jonghyun laughed, "You really think that matters that much? I mean just as long as it's edible, it'll be fine."

"Well, you see, that's the thing. It's not always exactly edible."

"What? How did you eat before?" Brooded Taemin, already worried that he would be derived of his food.

"My aunt always cooked, but when I called my mom right before we came, she insisted that she would cook this meal for us. I mean, I tried to get her out of it, but she can be really stubborn." Onew looked down guiltily.

"Hey man. Don't worry. It'll be fine, we're just thankful we get to stay here." Minho put his arm around Onew while the other SHINee members looked at each other worriedly.

--------------

"Come on boys! It's time to eat!" Onew's mom called from the kitchen.

SHINee came out of the guest rooms and immediatley began to help out Onew's mom with the table and food.

When the table was set, they all sat down with Onew's family.

"Thank you so much for having us here and being so warm." Minho smiled at the family appreciatively.

"Of course. Now go ahead and eat." Onew's dad smiled back and began to dig in.

The table was elaborately set with turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, and cranberry sauce. The warm glow of the light above created a cozy setting that made the food all the more appetizing.

Jonghyun and Key exchanged glances as they began to serve themselves. Taemin and Minho slowly began to eat a small portion of the food. Onew watched their faces for any signs of distaste. Their faces were blank.

Onew filled part of his plate and picked up his fork. Okay, well here goes nothing. He thought and shoved a forkful of stuffing into his mouth.

He chewed it thoughtfully before swallowing.

---------------

After the meal, SHINee gathered in their rooms where they planned what they would do tomorrow.

"Okay top thing on the list is to avoid reporters as much as possible." Taemin said.

"Definitely. If I see a reporter tomorrow, I'm going to punch them in the face." Key said angrily.

Jonghyun laughed, "Like you could throw a punch."

"Shut up." Key grumbled.

"Oh by the way. What did you guys think of the food?" Onew asked.

Everyone was silent.

"Well... I thought it was okay." Minho said quietly.

"Yeah, pretty good for a first try." Jonghyun tried to sound optimistic.

"You guys don't have to lie. I didn't like it at all. The stuffing was the worst." Onew said and began to laugh.

They all started to laugh before Key shouted out,

"Okay, next Thanksgiving, I'm cooking!"

Note: I know they're eating an American meal and Thanksgiving in Korea is Chuseok, but just don't criticize on this one. Pretend SHINee is having a Thanksgiving dinner in Korea.
