642 Things To Write About ~ #3

Name the trees that stood in the neighborhood where you grew up.

~Childhood Memory~

I walked down the sidewalk in my pastel colored Easter dress. It was sunny, and I liked it. The rays felt warm and the sky was so blue, it make the clouds look pearlescent. I stared at my little black shoes as I walked along carrying my Easter basket full of candy with me.

"Lizzie, stay on the block okay?" My Mom yelled after me.

"Okay Mommy!" I yelled back.

The sunlight that had just a second ago felt nice, suddenly felt hot. I pulled off my hat, which happened to match my dress, and found a small leaf inside. Placing it between my little fingers, I held it up to the sun admiring it's bright green color. It was spring so now the leaves were green. I remembered that a while ago they were orange and red, but now they came back to being green. I smiled and tucked the leaf into my dress pocket.

~7 Years Later~

"Hey Dad, what trees used to be in our old neighborhood?"

"Uhh, I think they were Chinese Pistache trees."

Note: This one was kind of hard to write. idk why because I usually do pretty well with descriptions, but I wanted to seem more childish in the childhood memory since it's when I was 6. Hmmm... maybe I'll do a rewrite of this later.
