Happy Birthday to Moony_Kat, I told you I would do something on your birthday so here it is. Just a drabble I came up with pairing You X Seungho.

Moonlit

He waited at the edge of the lake just where the marsh plants meets the shallow water. He had to be careful of the gentle current in case it got his shoes wet. It didn't make sense to him why she had to meet him there. What was the urgency? Why did he have to come alone? Maybe she would explain the strange gift she gave him the other week. A light sea green pearl in a plastic bag the size of a pea.

He heard rustling through the grass. He turned, the torch in his hand ready to press it on in case he needed to. The strands parted, he saw long hair followed by her large eyes framed by her doll-like eyelashes. He breathed out in relief, lowering the torch down again.
"You're late," he said as she greeted him and then joined him by his spot.

"Sorry," she apologised, "I have a lot of things on my mind."

"Such as why you gave me this?" He took out the bag from his pocket, the pearl looking dark blue in the light. She didn't answer him, just looked up at the sky to the moon, clouds were covering the large mystical orb.

"Oh good I still have time."

"Time, time for what?" Seungho had to look at her more intensely. "Kat, what is going on?"

She crouched down to carefully undo her sandals since she was in a skirt. "I can't explain much but I felt this may be my only chance before i have to go home."

"Go home where?" She pointed to the water. Seungho shook his head at her. "Be serious, Kat. When does your flight leave?"

"I am," she exclaimed. "I have to go by water."

"Is there a boat coming to get you...?" He was sentenced to silence by the shaking of her head. He wanted to sit down. "Kat...."

"I'm different yes, moreso than you realise." Kat's face was forlorn. "I can't tell you a lot but I'm not human. I'm from the waters. The only way for me to stay on land is if someone I choose swallows that pearl. The pearls come in pairs. For me to be human this long I had to take one, and now if I'm to remain like this then you need to swallow it."

Seungho was in shock. He had thought her strange but never thought that it was because she was... A mermaid?

"Oppa," Kat said just above a whisper. "I chose you because I have no one else I trust, no one else I care for, no one else I love..." Seungho turned to her and then down to the pearl and back again.

"You know I'd rather get to know the girl better before dating right?" Kat nodded.

"Well," he paused. "If this means that you can stay here with all of the members and with me forever. Then," without finishing his sentence he took out the pearl, tilted back his head and swallowed it. He winced as it travelled down his throat but soon it was done.

"Is that it?" He asked and she nodded. "Good," he pulled her into his arms to kiss her.
