Simply put, she's two-faced. Eunmi likes to pretend that she's got everything together - looks, brains, wealth, charisma, charity, athleticism, musicality, the works. These she then flaunts with apparent ease and charm. The reality is, she's probably the most stubborn girl her country has ever seen and can't accept anything else than self-perfection, so she works extremely hard to maintain this picture-perfect image. She's someone who will do whatever it takes to improve her image even if she hates it, and she can also reign in her annoyance, dislike or hate for somebody for the sake of that immaculate reputation. Everything she does is done with a purpose and she isn't one for spontaneity, preferring to spend the majority of her free time studying, training or 'networking'. In terms of the latter, in Eunmi's mind this means making 'friends' with the expectation that sooner or later, the relationship will benefit her somehow. Naturally talented people do intimidate her, but being the stubborn girl she is she generally finds a way to 'beat' them in her often fervent, silent and one-sided competitions against them. No matter how big or small the victory actually is,  it serves to calm her down and breathe normally once more. That said however, of course she was going to win! Kang Eunmi is perfect, thank you very much, and she's not about to let anyone, much less herself, forget it. Plus, this girl thrives on challenges - grades, boys, haggling for the cheapest cucumber, you name the challenge and she'll be there.

Compliments are frequently thrown her way and she is openly admired as a role model. Almost all the guys want her and all the girls want to be her, but in general, because she seems just so ridiculously talented yet so humble Eunmi is placed on a pedestal as someone who one simply can't hope to compete against (unless you're Kim Jongin ;p). While she always smiles genially and responds to such compliments by putting them down simply to study and/or group effort, she inwardly revels in praise. They also serve to feed her overly inflated opinion of herself, although there are never enough compliments for her liking. What she is today is the product of both her greatest fears and insecurities - to be incompetent, to be boring, or god forbid - invisible.

Addicted to the thrill of flirting and hooking up because of her love of challenges, it also serves to reassure herself of her attractiveness. She especially loves the control over her life in being able to 'pick and drop' the boys at the (mostly) figurative snap of her fingers. Not that she's actually been in many serious relationships though. Make that a tally of one boyfriend. Her classmates flock to her for dating advice given how experienced she seems, and because she doesn't want to let them or her can-do-anything reputation down she dishes her advice straight out of her women's magazines and romance RPG games scenarios. At the heart of it all she has a bunch of romantic notions of finding the perfect relationship to 'match her general superiority' and would secretly kill for a guy who would like her for who she is. Yet on the same token, in opening up to each other that type of relationship requires a degree of vulnerability that Eunmi simply isn't ready for. Doesn't vulnerability mean exposing your weaknesses? Your bad side? Nuh-uh, she's certain that's not for her. So she sticks to her shallow flings because it's her comfort zone, because it's safe. 

Underneath all those layers of fabricated "perfection" and egocentrism Eunmi is capable of attentiveness towards her (very) few loved ones. It's to the point where in private, somewhere in between derping about hot guys and forcing them to quiz her on Chinese vocabulary or whatnot, she plays quite the mother hen. She'll worry quite vocally about their safety, their health and likes to notice their quirks and preferences and prepare small presents from time to time. Humour-wise, she's unexpectedly childish, sarcastic and downright erted.

 

{in a nutshell} Eunmi seems to be that multi-talented, humble and ever-knowledgeable class president who everyone loves. In reality, she's ridiculously egotistical, insecure and pigheaded, reveling in the victories her love of challenges usually brings her. She'll flirt with any hot guy but date none, because she's terrified of the vulnerability in opening up to people. To her loved ones, she can be quite motherly, but humour-wise Eunmi can be childish, sarcastic and downright erted.

{background} Eunmi was born into the prosperity that followed the global success of her father's media company and her mother's career as a fashion photographer. She grew up in Japan and attended an international school there until she was twelve years old, and then moved back to Seoul with her family.

{reason} Apart from Jinri's almost total lack of athleticism (which at times actually makes her cuter what the hell, Eunmi thinks), she's everything Eunmi wants to be - she's the real deal. She perceives Jinri's personality to be very pure, which in comparison makes her feel quite dirty and desperate in her craving for attention. This in turn heightens her insecurities, and really, who likes to feel insecure?
